Canteen Food Prices Please note that we are working with Health Promotion Board (HPB) to provide balanced meals for our students. Nutritionists will visit the school to check on the quality of the food and amount portioned out for students. We understand the concerns raised by parents over the amount being insufficient. Hence we have confirmed with the vendors that food sold costs either $1.00, $1.50 or $1.80. The canteen vendors have been told to ensure that they do not charge the students for items that they run short of especially after school hours. 1
We are also working with the nutritionist on the possibility of arranging a session for parents to better understand the concept of healthy and balanced meals. I seek your kind understanding in this matter and look forward to working with parents on how we can all work towards providing healthy balanced meals. 3. Submission of School Health Booklet The Health Promotion Board (HPB) will be in school from 19 May (Mon) to 29 May (Thu) to conduct the annual health screening exercise for all students. Please submit your child’s Health Booklet through your child to the Form Teacher by 17 April 2014 (Thu). If the Health Booklet is lost, please inform the Form Teacher for a replacement copy which costs the school $1.50 per copy. However, the child’s previous medical records will not be available in the new replacement copy. Therefore, please make every effort to locate the Health Booklet that had contained the child’s previous medical records from birth which should accompany him/her through every developmental stage. Students who have not been in the MOE school system before will need to inform the Form Teacher for a copy as well. The HPB letter is also issued for your reading. In addition, P1 and P5 students have been issued the following documents: - P1 Information Booklet containing: Medical Information Form (green colour) and Immunisation Consent Form (blue colour) - P1 Letter on Change of Immunisation Schedule - P5 Information Booklet containing Immunisation Consent Form (purple colour) Kindly fill up all required fields, date and sign the forms. All forms are to be submitted to the Form Teacher by 17 April 2014 (Thu). 4. Phase 1 Survey Form for Primary One Registration in 2015 Kindly complete the survey form and return through your child to the Form Teacher by 11 April 2014 (Fri). This includes a NIL return even if you do not have any child eligible for Phase 1 or you do not intend to register your younger child in our school. If you have a younger child eligible for Phase 1 and intend to register him/her in our school, and the child has more than one sibling currently studying in the school, you only need to submit one form. Kindly complete only one return and on the other child/children’s survey form, please indicate that you have already submitted through the eldest sibling (write his/her name and class). We seek your kind understanding to facilitate the administrative process. 5. Use of School Smart Card (SSC) for Concessionary Travel – Primary One Students Please note that your child was issued the above-mentioned card. To start using the SSC for concessionary travel, students are required to activate the card at the TransitLink Ticket Office/TransitLink Concession Card Replacement Office/Passenger Services Centre located at the MRT stations/Bus Interchanges by topping up the value for the card. The minimum top-up value is $5. For absentees during the photo shoot in January, and you have submitted his/her photo in hardcopy or softcopy, your child’s SSC is being processed in the supplementary issue and likely to be ready by April/May.

6. MOE ExCEL Festival at Suntec International Convention Centre on 12 April (Sat) Members of the public are invited to view the exhibits at the Convention Centre at Levels 2, 3 and 4. You may also sign up for the Seminars. Please refer to the attachment. You may log on to www.excelfest.com for a selection of the sharing sessions you may be keen to attend. 7. School Uniform Name Tags We have noted an increasing number of students without name tags. When asked, many tell us that parents have yet to sew on the name tags. Please ensure that your child reports in school attire with the name tag. The teachers have been informed to speak to parents about missing name tags on student uniforms and tea-shirts. 8. Road Safety Rules It is important that all road users are safe when crossing roads. We have impressed on our children to lift their right hand up to signal to drivers that they are about to cross the road. Pupils are to walk across the road briskly while the right hand is still raised. The right hand serves as a signal for drivers to stop. I seek your assistance in ensuring that your child carries out the practice. Parents are advised not to park along the road side to wait for students to be dismissed. We encourage you to ask your child to wait in the school grounds during dismissal and you can drive into the school after 2.00 pm to fetch your child from the waiting area near the main gate. When driving into the school grounds, please be patient should there be other vehicles too within the pickup area. 9. National Floorball Championship (Senior Boys Division) & Handbells SYF Performance Our Senior Floorball Team had managed to clinch the 3 rd Position in the National Floorball Championship 2014! We would like to thank all the players and the Floorball teachers, Mr Nicholas Tan, Mr Fahmy and Mr Jeremy Loh for their dedication, commitment and hard work. Of course all this would not have been possible without the support of the players’ parents. So thank you Floorball parents for your unrelenting support! Students from the Hand bells group attained the Certificate of Accomplishment for the Singapore Youth Festival Competition. 10. School Discipline Anchor Green Primary School closely monitors students’ behaviour within and outside classroom. Students are encouraged and taught to live up to the school values and to have positive interactions with teachers and friends. We believe in using “The Restorative Approach” to Discipline where students are often asked to reflect on how their actions have affected others and the learning from their actions. We have drawn up guidelines on offences and the consequences. We had shared this with the students last term. We have attached the guidelines for your reference. Thank you and we look forward to working with parents to meet the needs of the students. Regards
