Dear Parents /Guardians Warm Greetings from Anchor Green Primary School ! 1. Proud moments for Anchor Green Primary I wish to thank you for believing in your children’s capabilities and for giving them the full support and encouragement to take part in the following competitions this year. We are indeed proud to announce the following achievements of our pupils. -

At the N3 Cluster Oratorical Competition, the students from Primary 5 Ace won the following: a) Ritvik Mahajan clinched the 2nd prize for Public Speaking b) Tricia Tan emerged 2nd in place while Jaedon Lum received a consolation prize for Poetry Slam. c) Berenice Neo and Irnariyah were commended for being excellent emcees for the audience quiz. Our Senior Floorball team came in as 1st runners-up in the National Primary Schools Floorball Competition. The Netball Senior Team too had taken 2nd place in the Inter-schools Netball Tournament. In the Singapore Youth Festival (Arts) Competition – The school attained a silver and bronze award for work done by the Art Club pupils.

2. P1 Registration Exercise for Phase 1 (Siblings in the school) The P1 Phase 1 Registration Exercise will be completed by 30 June. The acknowledgement forms for confirmation will be sent out to parents through your child by next Tues (5 July). Please call the General Office to speak to Mdm Meena should you need any clarifications. 3. Youth Day holiday on Monday, 4 July 2011 Please note that there will be no school on the above mentioned date. It is a school holiday for all children in primary schools. 4. National Education (NE) Preview at Marina Bay Sands on 9 July 2011 for P5 pupils The school will be issuing a separate notification to seek parental consent for the above mentioned by early next week. School PE attire 2.30 pm School Hall (for briefing prior to departure) 10.00 pm.

A goody bag containing biscuits and water will be issued to each child as well. You may pack additional dry food for them if you feel they will get hungry. Pupils will however be given a KFC meal by the school. Parents are kindly advised to be on standby from 9.45 pm to pick up their child as it all depends on the traffic leaving the venue after the show. School staff will be on standby to answer calls from 8.00 pm. Please call 68861356 for any queries. 5. Blood Pressure Measurement Programme for P5 Pupils Our school is collaborating with the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to conduct a programme to inculcate the P5 pupils with the awareness on the importance of knowing the optimal blood pressure reading, and to pass on the knowledge to their families. Each P5 student will be trained on both theory and practical knowledge of High Blood


Pressure. Upon the completion of training, each Primary 5 students will be given a blood pressure monitor for loan to take home to administer what they had learnt. Pupils will carry out BP reading exercises with family members. A consent form will be sent to all parents of P5 pupils for parental consent to participate in this programme. We look forward to your participation as we hope to educate our pupils and their families on the importance of taking care of hypertension (blood pressure). 6. School Facebook page We are pleased to share that the school has set-up an official Facebook page as another online platform, besides our school website and Twitter page, to connect with our stakeholders @ www.facebook.com/AnchorGreen.
