Promotion from P1 to P2 Promotion from P2 to P3, P3 to P4 P4 to P5

P5 to P6

Majority of the pupils will move en-block to P2. As outlined above, some of the pupils will move to different classes to enable a fair spread of pupils. Pupils will be allocated to classes based on their aptitude and ability in English and Mathematics. For Mother Tongue Language, the pupils are banded according to the different groups comprising Enrichment, Core and Bridging Support. Pupils will have the option to do subjects at the Standard or Foundation Level. Parents will be issued Option Forms on the best subject combinations for their child by 14 Nov (Mon). Parents may make an appointment to meet up with the class teachers to discuss further. All option forms are to be signed and returned by 16 Nov ’11 (Wed). Pupils’ performance will determine the class the pupil moves to. The school will make the decision to allocate pupils to take the Foundation subjects based on the pupil’s performance in the subject over the 5 years, as well as feedback from the teachers.

4. School Library Books We kindly appeal to parents to get your children to return all books loaned from the school library by Mon 14 Nov ‘11. To date, we have a number of books which have not been returned. During the school holiday, pupils may report to school in PE attire to read in the Library during the following time slots: AM: 9.00 – 12.00 noon PM: 2.00 – 4.00 pm 5. We will issue these books to our needy pupils. All extra sets will be given to NTUC for issue to other school children. 6. Travel Plan Notification Please submit the travel plans for the Nov / Dec school holiday period to your child’s teacher by the given deadline. Your input will help us better prepare for any health crisis situations that may arise, 7. Student Transfer Exercise Programme (STEP) Exercise Parents moving out of Sengkang to other postal districts may take advantage of the STEP Exercise. MOE will allocate a school for your child nearer your home. Please collect the application form from our General Office. The completed form, together with supporting document, must be submitted to the General Office by 19 Nov. Pupils on the STEP Exercise will have to accept the place offered by MOE. 8. Attire and items to bring on 1st day of school – 3 Jan 2012 Please note that your child will report in school uniform with black shoes. He/She will need to bring only the stationery box and the Pupil Handbook on the 1st day. Class time table will be issued on 3 Jan 2012. Every pupil should have a name tag on his school uniform as well as PE attire. If your child does not feel well on the 1st day of school and especially if you have travelled out of Singapore, please see a doctor to certify him/her fit for school. 9. School Bag If you intend to purchase a new school bag for your child, we would like to emphasise that it is important to consider the weight and size of the school bag. Please do not buy a trolley bag as pupils find it difficult to carry trolley bags up the staircase. Please do not allow your child to carry a bag which is too bulky or heavy. He/She will learn over time, with support from your end, to carry only the essential items to school. Thank you and we look forward to your continued support in providing the best for our pupils. Merry Christmas Greetings and a Happy New Year to all of you. Yours faithfully _________________ Mrs Dhillon A. Singh Principal
