On Review: Album Taylor Swift
Folklore her music, but in her lyrics. She has always been known for writing about love and creating pop hits like ‘We are never (ever) getting back together’ and ‘I knew you were trouble’. However, in recent years - and after a battle with her record company - she has started writing music about well, having to write music. With the focus drawn away from Swift’s own love life it is quite refreshing, something that was a long time coming as she begins to live a less public life. Each track on this album seemingly flows into the other, yet each tells a different story. No two songs follow the same narrative and no song can be pinned to an ex-partner. She has finally separated her social and love life from her art something that reduced the gravitas of her past albums. This album is Taylor Swift, not Taylor Laughtner or Calvin Harris - and definitely not Harry Styles. This music represents her; inspired by her life and her feelings.

Mandalorian we felt it was best to showcase why you should binge the first season before the second is released. If you’re a fan of Star Wars (even the secret ones of you out there), The Madalorian gives the whole saga a new way of thinking and direction. After what felt like an anticlimactic sequel trilogy, we were left with this empty feeling that Star Wars had finally gone the same way of The Simpsons, gutted for everything it was worth and left out to dry with just a name to itself. Thankfully, The Mandalorian came to the rescue. Based 5 years after the fall of the Empire in Episode IV: Return of the Jedi, the series follows an infamous Mandalorian bounty hunter, played by Pedro Pascal, looking to make his way in the newly ‘free’ universe. After taking a controversial bounty job from remnants of the Empire, we finally get an insight into how the universally famous bounty hunters work, but not for long. Early on we meet the world’s most adorable character, which literally broke the internet, and discover more about who this mystery bounty hunter really is. With a box office budget just for a TV series, you could tell that Disney were serious about this show and that it

a week or so after they’d opened and the first day of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. Suffice to say, it wasn’t a great experience. In fact, it was a shambles but the team and the food showed promise. I was willing the second visit to be a great experience… and I’m pleased to report, the restaurant didn’t disappoint. From the moment we walked in, there was a much more professional feel to the whole experience; from checking us in, to seating us at our table and offering us a drink as soon as we sat down, it all felt much slicker. Surveying the room, it was clear the waiting staff had dedicated tables. Our server was attentive throughout, without being too pushy, which I liked - I don’t know about you but I hate feeling rushed or being asked if I’m ‘enjoying my meal’ with a full mouth. Her knowledge of the menu was fantastic, offering us guidance on what to choose by asking us questions as to what food we liked. Being with a picky diner, I was worried they’d not have something to his taste. But I was pleasantly surprised; when asked what was gluten- and lactosefree, there was a range of options. Allergies? No problem.

Is Hull Ready For The Climate Crisis? WORDS BY DAVID DRURY The Environment Agency estimates that sea levels could rise by 1.55 metres over the next 100 years. What that means for cities like Hull, which sits predominantly below sea level, is that we face a very wet, flooded future.

Raves Reimagined WORDS BY GRACIE HARVEY Electronic music and live DJs, laser lights and strobes, mosh pits and dance parties lasting all night long. That’s what you would associate with a rave, right?
