DO YOU HAVE THE TOOLS REQUIRED TO ALLOW YOUR STAFF TO BE PRODUCTIVE WHILE WORKING REMOTELY? Thousands
of
people
have
quickly discovered that the job they absolutely had to be in the office to do just a few weeks ago is perfectly possible from their home office or laptop. While home-working suits many people and can in some cases increase productivity, many can find it frustrating and difficult to keep up the same level of work, away from the office. As a business owner or team leader (or indeed a freelancer) it’s your job to make sure you and your employees have all of the tools required to make remote working not just
possible, but more effective. Dropbox or something similar to share files is usually an essential, while finding the right customer relationship management (CRM) system can take a little more time. There are a huge range of project management tools that allow teams to connect and stay on top of tasks and projects. The key is finding the right ones for you. Best case, you will have already been using something like Basecamp, Asana, Hubspot or Zoho to manage your projects and can simply continue to utilise these. If you do need to experiment to find the right one (and it really is horses for courses when it comes to finding the right tool) most offer a free trial period for you to experiment.
IS THERE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO LOOK BEYOND ‘SURVIVAL’ AND EXPLORE THE
POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH? Ok, so you’ve survived. Your team is working remotely and you’re on top of your projects. Your clients are happy and your business looks to have successfully moved to remote working. Now it’s time to see if you can develop that further and actually push for business growth. Look for opportunities to grow into new areas or look at how your current customers have had to adapt. Does the increased number of people working from home create new opportunities for you? How about the increase of delivery services? Employment, education, financing and entertainment have all been affected in a monumental way. Now is the time for you to start looking at this as an opportunity to come out on the other side a stronger and more resilient business.

As sun-drenched strolls home from the office mutate into dark, frigid commutes in torrential rain, sneakerheads all over the world are faced with a horrifying choice: to ruin their most prized possessions in the adverse weather or, perhaps even worse, to consider wearing footwear other than sneakers for the next couple of months. Thankfully, 2020 and its taste for functional fashion brought with it a solution to this age-old seasonal conundrum: Gore-Tex sneakers…and plenty of them. genre bending approach to music is why when he announced that his next musical project, under the

alias ‘Childish Gambino’, would be his last, there was a lot of hype surrounding what it would be. There were sporadic songs dropped, and his 2019 Coachella set and subsequent tour saw the premiere of the aggressive, Yeezus inspired ‘Warlords’ and the industrial funk hit ‘Algorhythm’ which were both absolutely incredible. Expectations were really high, and when on 15th March 2020 (after a really odd release) we got “15.03.20”, I felt

there was a slight deflation in the atmosphere. Each track was named simply after the timecode, the album itself was titled after the date it was released, and the album art was simply white. There were some incredible songs on there, and the audience finally got to hear a complete version of Warlords and Algorhythm, along with an incredibly touching moment between Glover and his son, but as a final album to wrap up the Gambino in

started on Carole “Goddamn” Baskin) there is a genuinely interesting plot running throughout. Joe is a lonely man who needs to be loved and to be seen, as much as you wouldn’t be able to tell this from the beginning. Both of his (much younger and more handsome) partners were lured in with the prospect of free meth and tigers, and both weren’t even particularly gay. Joe is a laughing stock to everyone around him, and he’s aware of it. In a Trump like fashion, he uses it to his advantage and builds his entire empire off of a cult of personality. This attracts a lot of the wrong kind of people who he is more than happy to welcome into his life. The sad fact seems to be that, for the most part, Joe cannot distinguish between positive and negative attention and as the latter is easier to come by, he reveals in it. It is this attitude that Joe uses as the Almost as talked about as the Coronavirus, the new

easy topics are completely unearthed, showing you a world you would never think to be talked about. Each story is written beautifully from a first person perspective, begging the question of whether Franco went through all of these scenarios as an adolescent and finds solace in writing about them. As we make our way deeper into the life of youth in Palo Alto, the stories get darker, like we are crawling further into a jagged cave. We become uncomfortable and scared, yet curiosity and answers to questions drive us further to finding an exit. Characters slowly start connecting to each other and stories begin to cross over between chapters. You find yourself being a detective amongst the stories, figuring out how who, what, where and how. Reading this book in your twenties will make you think twice about things you heard or saw during your own upbringing. Stuff your friends said about what they were going through, what they were doing, it really hits home and begs the question...does adolescence differ for each country, or does everyone experience the same/know people who have?
