As I sit to write this report, winter has returned bringing heavy snow and road closures. It has been an unusual November but it needed to be in order to make up for the challenging weather in October. I hope you have been able to complete harvest, get the bales home, and wean/sell your calves.

Every event needs someone who rises to the challenge and Kyle certainly did exactly that.
We have seen calf prices strengthen some so I hope we have seen the bottom of this calf market. Some positive signals would be really beneficial to the long term viability of the cow-calf producer.
Most of the show and sales have concluded and the holiday season is just around the corner. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to the Limousin family throughout Canada and wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season. As we bring 2016, to a close let us be thankful for what we have and look forward to a prosperous 2017.
It has been a month since the M.L.A. hosted the Canadian Limousin National Show & Sale in Brandon, it was a great event and held in a wonderful venue. There were producer and livestock from western Canada in attendance and the M.L.A. appreciates their support. It was an event packed four days and concluded with the Supreme Championship where Greenwood Limousin from Lloydminster was awarded Supreme Champion Female of the show with Greenwood Zoom Bloom. Congratulations to Paynes on this prestigious award.

This fall M anitoba’s Ag-Ex was host of the Canadian National Limousin show. There were approximately 80 head involved in the National Show and Sale with Exhibitors from 3 provinces. I n attendance were CLA members from all across Canada. The Champion bull honours of the open show went to Payne Livestock and B Bar cattle. Champion female honours went to Boss Lake Cattle and Greewood Limousin. On the Lim-Flex side the Champion bull went to Jaymarandy Livestock with female honours awarded to Ashley M itchell and Jaymarandy Livestock . The National Sale featured excellent cattle with top selling honours going to Payne Livestock , B Bar Cattle, Triple R Limousin and Jaymarandy Livestock . On behalf of the Canadian Limousin Association Show and Sale committee I would like to thank all of the exhibitors, consigners, attendees and sponsors for mak ing the 2016 National Limousin Show and Sale an excellent event.
