Journey through Douglass’ heartbreaking childhood as a plantation slave to his pivotal friendship with Abraham Lincoln. Marvel at his mastery of the spoken word as he denounces the brutal injustices of slavery. As portrayed by Broadway actor Mel Johnson Jr., this is a wonderful evening of theatre not to be missed. As New Bedford was an important stop on the Underground Railroad and it was here that Frederick Douglass became a free man, The Z will partner with the NB Civil War Roundtable, NB Historical Society, NB Whaling National Historical Park, Gallery X and NB Whaling Museum to offer several community events to enhance your theatre experience. Watch www.zeiterion.org for further details.

A spellbinding and impassioned presentation that inspires a desire for change

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23 AT 7PM TICKETS: $5

The story that changes everything

A Parent & Community Presentation: Rachel’s Challenge is the inspiring story of Rachel Scott, whose example of kindness and acceptance was brought to light when she became the first victim in the Columbine High School tragedy. Conveyed through stories from Rachel’s life and writings, this program shows the profound positive impact we can have on those around us. The presentation, similar to the program shown the same morning to students throughout the region as part of The Z’s SchoolTime Education Program, demonstrates the power of deliberately reaching out in word and action to start what Rachel called “a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.” 36 GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE SAVE UP TO 20%!
