Harmony Hensley Disability Ministry Consultant 99 Balloons Harmony Hensley has a background in vocational ministry, para-church non-profits, design, sales and marketing and has personally dealt with the stigma of disability. She has helped to launch inclusion ministry initiatives in churches across the country and currently serves as the Senior Project Manager with Rebel Pilgrim Productions, sharing stories that spark hope and action. She also holds a dual degree in Ministry Leadership and Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University and works as a consultant for CCDM (Christian Churches Disability Ministry).

Mindy Duell Autism Resource Teacher Fayetteville Public Schools Mindy is an Autism Resource Teacher in the Fayetteville Public Schools. She received her training from the University of Kansas. She is currently working on her BCBA certification. She has taught for 7 years, and is passionate about inclusion and using the best, researched based methods for instruction and behavior. Prior to teaching, Mindy spent 10 years on staff with the Navigators, a college ministry. Both teaching and full-time ministry have impacted how she views children and people with disabilities and have led her to have strong convictions regarding the role of the Church in supporting individuals and families with disabilities. She and her husband live in NWA with their 4 children.

This breakout session focuses on helping individuals and communities become more efficient and effective in their goal planning with their disability- related pursuits. This breakout session will be interactive and experiential. Student and staff will demonstrate the S.M.A.R.T technique and teach attendees how to best use this method in their organization, church, and home.
Barnabas Prep Students and Staff This session will be led by students and staff from Barnabas Prep. Barnabas is college-like experience for young with disabilities located in Branson, MO.
communication 101 Are you new to working with individuals with special needs or just looking to gain some new insight? Join us for this session on better understanding and communicating with this special group of people. We’ll cover topics including verbal and non-verbal communication, fostering a safe environment, listening to body language and adapting your own body language to communicate effectively. You’ll come away with practical applications for understanding them as well as helping them understand you.
Laura Edwards Director of Guest Services, Camp Dixie Laura has had a passion for working with individuals with disabilities for as long as she can remember. Over the 9 years she worked at Camp Barnabas, a camp for individuals with disabilities, she developed a love for equipping others with tools and knowledge to work with and show the love of Jesus Christ to those with disabilities. She has 12 years of professional experience working directly with individuals with special needs and their care givers in various settings including schools, churches, homes and 2 different Christian Camps. She currently serves as the Director of Guest Services at Camp Dixie in Fayetteville, NC.

Matt Mooney Executive Director, 99 Balloons Matthew and his wife Ginny founded 99 Balloons, an organization that engages individuals with disability locally and globally. Many know him through the story of his son, Eliot- whose life he chronicled in A Story Unfinished. He calls the hogs and Fayetteville, Arkansas home.

Dr. Jeff McNair, Ph.D. Director of Disability Studies, California Baptist University Jeff McNair, Ph.D. is Professor of Special Education/Severe Disabilities and Director of the Disability Studies Program (entirely online) at California Baptist University. He is also the Director of the Policy Center for the Christian Institute on Disability of the Joni and Friends Organization. In his CID position, he is the editor of the Journal of the Christian Institute on Disability. He is an author and speaker. He and his wife Kathi have been personally involved in ministry to adults with intellectual disabilities at their local churches for 40 years.
