I am writing this letter to give my recommendation for Miss. Bhumika Raj. I know Miss Raj when she approached me to be her guide for her under graduation thesis about 6 months back. During our first call we discussed about the topic she wanted to take up and how will she structure it. The topic itself was quite interesting which led me to have further interactions with her. I was quite impressed at her motivation and approach. Further the positive feedback obtained for her skills of taking up any challenge and diligently doing justice to it from her mentors and peers was also a key factor. So from all the students it was quite evident for me to choose her for the passion she showcased.
While working on thesis, she demonstrated the ability to work independently with great perseverance and enthusiasm. She also put in many long hours Her interpersonal skills were excellent. For her thesis completion she was supposed to interact with smart city officials of the city. She was able to swiftly negotiate and understand the complex concepts for her topic. She managed to strike a conversation and build a rapport with the officials that they really supported her whenever she had any doubts. This helped her to deliver an amazing work from start of her review.
She continued to do the literature review and generate regression models as well as hypothesis. We talked about every other week, and during several conversations via social media platforms, she shared papers and information that was helpful and new to me. By the end of the summer she was introducing me to new case studies which I had not reflected upon. She is an individual with good multitasking skills. Along with the thesis she also got selected for a Winter School Program on Policy making at Indian Institute of Management –Ahmedabad, one of the prestigious Business schools of India. Gradually as I had interactions with her I could say the Winter school helped her avoid the linear approach of thinking, hence she was able to analyse problems from all dimensions and provide a suitable metric at the end for the thesis.
The collection of data for any thesis is a very important aspect. Due to the Pandemic in India, the responses needed for the questionnaire she floated on value capturing was a daunting task. Inspite of that she managed to achieve the target by working day and night. Moreover, the analysis done for the same was very effective and was appreciated. This illustrates her high level of motivation in spite of the hurdles
In summary, Miss Bhumika is clearly one of the best student I have worked with. I would very much like you to consider her for your program. I think she would be a stellar asset to your program. I give her my highest recommendation.
