Promoting alliances for producers

Supporting and providing better opportunities for agricultural producers is one of the main missions of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food under the leadership of Minister José Ángel López. The Minister participated in the workshop promoting the Regional AgriLAC Resilient initiative.

Reducing vulnerability

Minister López stated, “it is important to reduce the vulnerability of production systems and producers, their families, and their livelihoods. For this, it is necessary to redirect investments towards adaptation, through the application of technology and solutions in nature within the different productive sectors.”

The meeting brought together representatives of the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers (CGIAR), the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology of Guatemala (ICTA).
