Between writing and painting

Baeza mentioned how he found himself in the artistic dichotomy between “Do I go back to painting or do I continue writing?”; then, he published a series of stories between hyperrealists and surrealists, some mysterious and some folktales, written during the first year of the pandemic.

“The text is an extract of particular happenings in the country; it documents the daily life of Guatemalans during the pandemic, with several fictional stories,” said the artist.

The author shifts between mechanical and industrial engineering, arts, science, and en- vironmental technology. In his 40-year career, he has painted about 1200 oil paintings, and his literary production consists of 8 editions.
