According to the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (Inguat, acronym in Spanish), the country is known for rafting ranging from Class II to Class V. However, Inguat emphasizes the importance of following your guide’s instructions and the weather conditions.

Whitewater rafting rivers

One of the rivers adventurers prefer is the Cahabón (Alta Verapaz), as they cross with sparkling beams while observing wildlife. It is one of the most challenging.

Chiquibul River in Petén has special clear waters, and Ocosito River in Retalhuleu has 14 kilometers of level II trails. You can also enjoy rafting in the Coyolate River in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, which has several waterfalls. Guatemala is waiting for you!
