The first draft for a roadmap towards carbon neutrality in Costa Rica (2010-2021) was developed by A-01 (A Company / A Foundation) in collaboration with the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and its integrated think tank Advanced Media Operations (AMO), authors of the roadmap towards a prosperous low-carbon future in the European Union. The proposal focuses on lowering carbon emissions in the sectors of transportation, construction, agriculture and industry. Several of our projects, such as BicipúbliCartago and La Fortuna on 2 Wheels, urban and rural masterplans, residential typologies such as the No Footprint House, are designed according to the ideas and therefore contribute to the gradual implementation of the Costa Rican Roadmap 2021.
