- Japan All Japanese artists who have participated in this exhibition are the alumni of Kyoto City University of Arts. We spent precious time together in those days though we studied in different fields. It has been a long time since our graduation, we are living and producing artworks by our own stance. We appreciate very much for our friendship and continue to inspire each other as time goes by. It seems like this cultural exchange exhibition is the result of our relationship over many years that have borne fruit. Therefore, we look forward to getting more ideas through artworks and artists from ASEAN countries. We are grateful that it will be held at the gallery in Japan and it is a place where the thoughts and dreams of artists from various countries are communicated through their artworks. By Koji Okitani - Philippines I am extremely honored and grateful for having been given this opportunity to be part of Peace and Unity Through Art in Japan. As with my fellow Filipino artists, I am eager to immense myself to the uniqueness of Japanese arts and culture, explore the beauty of Japan as a country, and meeting its wonderful people along the way. I hope that this event would open more doors of opportunities for fellow artists from different parts of the globe to collaborate and work as a team to reach a common goal through visual arts. To the organizers, art patrons and sponsors, thank you for your belief and unwavering support. By Roy Espinosa - Singapore Singapore is the smallest country amongst the four nations involved in this art exhibition. Obviously, it is a great honour and humble for me to be part of it, showcase my artwork in the same order with other renowned artists who are the experts in their own field of art. The theme Peace and Unity through Art in Japan shared my dream to see peace and harmony in this planet Gaia (Earth). This exhibition is literally a tiny drop in the ocean, but this humble act promised great ripples and possible to offer a persistent idea towards world peace. Today with electronic media, the world becomes smaller, thus allow us to reach each other or grab information instantaneously, by clicking some buttons on our handheld gadgets. We have clearly seen disharmony, war, hunger, riot, crimes, Islamophobia, terrorism, ethnic cleansing and many catastrophes created by human. Greed, hatred and selfishness driven by corrupt politicians, power hunger leaders, material driven capitalist/individuals, add on with misleading information via social media somehow add chaos to this lovely planet. They are affecting the tranquillity of humankind, our environment, flora, fauna and animals. If not put to check we may lose our livelihood and worst extinction of humankind and planet earth. I have seen some of the greatest artworks to be displayed in this event. Artworks that depict the aspiration of our artists to see this earth flourish with happiness, peace and blossom with cheerfulness. I wish this art event to take root as an annual event in Japan. Thank You from the bottom of my heart, please. By Abu Jalal Sarimon

She is inspired by unusual things, religious tools and utensil used for rituals etc., then creates her piece of work because she imagines that they are as extraordinary tools. Animal hair, feathers, and leather used in conjunction with Japanese lacquer (urushi) are also important elements that invite us to a world beyond our daily life. The expression âHarenoguâ ïŒ this is a word coined by KAMETANI, which adds the meaning of the tool to the word âHare = sacredâ, which shows extraordinary things such as festivals and celebrations, is a major theme for her creative works. In recent years, she has taken in existing stories and expanded her expression to âMonogatari-Shibai (tell a story at theatre)â, which shows work tailored in theatrical expression, and she is also trying to collaborate with dancer,

People in those days already knew that these are beautiful, thatâs why they have made them. And we also feel the same way even though we live in such a different and modern environment. in time. There are no guarantees that watching the sunrise will take away your seasonal sadness. The sun doesnât have an ad budget or marketing campaign to make promises. However, sunlight is free and extremely reliable: Every day, it rises without fail, and its light brings a lot of impressive benefits. Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that the morning sun worked wonders on my mood. This happened when I wake up from early in the morning and I took some photos and did some quick live sketch while the sun is rising up. In the past, I rarely saw sunrise. Maybe on a random trip during an early hike, or at the beach when I needed a quiet moment in nature. These intermittent sunrise experiences awoke something dormant in meâa lightness, a hope, a reminder to breathe, all of which seemed to lead to a better day and a sounder nightâs sleep.

Roy C. Espinosa was born on Oct 11, 1966 in Pasay City, Philippines and now Iâm staying in Quezon City, Philippines. He was a graduate of fine arts in Philippines Womenâs University in Manila in 1988.
âFor me, art is something that shows not only beauty, but it is also a perfect tool to enhance oneâs sensibility and intelligence. Each artwork is a story, a narrative that can bring into the fore the essence of things both ordinary and extraordinary. Furthermore, the artistâs works are but the extension of his heart and soul.â

During his days in High School, Viel, as what he is known to most of his friends, was actively involved in art competitions sponsored by different schools and NGOâs. Through these, He has also won major awards. He pursued his passion for the arts and took Commercial Arts at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) for two years, and later continued his studies at the Far Eastern University (FEU), Bachelor of Fine Arts major in advertising and finished in 1993. His college days were a balance mix of studying and mastering of his artistry. He participated in various art competitions sponsored by schools, organizations and big companies such as Metrobank and Shell. After Graduation, he ventured into Graphic Designing for 15 years in different Ad design firms, NGOâs and Publishing houses. As the years progress, he was also led to take quite a few career paths and honed his skills as an illustrator, Lay-out Artists and Photographer.
Being open to several forms and styles has given him a broader perspective and a deeper appreciation for the arts. This receptive way of thinking allowed him to combine together varying art methods to create new styles and unique masterpieces. The medium he uses the most is oil and watercolor, but he also loves to explore and experiment. His way of unboxing himself is by trying different mediums and other materials, which gives him the freedom to express his creativity. He has an eye for innovation and understands that the only rule in art is to defy the rule and to challenge yourself. As of now, a spark of inspiration has awaken his senses to rekindle his love for the craft, after being dormant in painting for almost 20 years. In a short period of time, he already got himself involved in the rt scene by joining group exhibits, competitions, conducting art workshops and other activities associated to his passion. Apart from his creative side, Viel is also a genuine man of Faith. He is now a full time Ordained Pastor, but remains to be a full pledge artist at heart.

A Self-taught Artist, Mylene's work is truly unique. Often you
see an artist's work and your first thought is "its derivative." This is not the case with Mylene, in addition to being wholly
original, her work is powerful, exudes emotion, internally driven, and emotionally charged. Mylene's original abstract art has been described as "dark yet uplifting simultaneously". Her expansive surfaces command the attention of passers-by; reward the focus of new as well as seasoned collectors and transform a static wall into a crystal ball. Few creations rival the pure power, active style and personal impact of Mylene's ãã€ãªãŒã³ ã¯ã£ãã

Born on January 25, 1988 in Binondo Manila, Chai Soo, a selftaught artist grew up in small town in Borongan, Samar. Being an only child and growing up with no parents around, she was raised with a strict supervision, limiting her interaction in the outside world. She then found an ally through brushes and paints. At an early age, she found bliss in expressing herself through arts and painting. In 2007, as she began to lead her own life, she set aside her passion and focused on making a living through the hustle bustle in the corporate world. In early 2017, after almost a ãã£ã€ ã¹ãŒ
decade of dealing with the high demands and pressure at

work (and life), she felt an urge to go back to her old passion âpaintings. It then became her definition of scape whenever
