NEW FROM TERRAIN TAMER

New Fortified Brake Upgrade Kits released

Terrain Tamer has released a new range of Fortified Brake Upgrade Kits for Toyota Landcruiser VDJ76/78/79 models. Terrain Tamer says the new kits are made up of its most high-performance braking parts to improve performance in 4WDs operating in heavy duty conditions. The kits come complete with a Terrain Tamer Heavy Duty Brake Booster, which has been designed and engineered in Australia as an easy to fit, bolt-in replacement for the vehicle’s original booster, and feature a dual diaphragm design. Terrain Tamer says this design effectively doubles the diaphragm surface area, acting to reduce pedal effort and improve both the stopping power and the braking feel, without significantly increasing the overall size of the booster itself. Essential for 4WDs that are towing or carrying heavy loads, Terrain Tamer states its Heavy Duty Brake Booster has been found to improve braking performance by up to 30 percent in both ABS and non-ABS models. As well as the Brake Booster, the new kits also include a Terrain Tamer Braided Brake Hose Kit, front and rear Terrain Tamer High Performance slotted and dimpled rotors, and front and rear Terrain Tamer Fortified Brake Pads. Made in Thailand from a copper free ceramic formulation, the Fortified Brake Pads hold E1 Euro Certification and are made with exclusive Terrain Tamer tooling.

OPEN TAILGATES SAFELY AND STRONGLY

With Hulk 4X4

Hulk 4X4 says it is one of the fastest growing players in the Australian off-road and 4WD market. CoolDrive Auto Parts’ own brand recently welcomed Tailgate Assist Kits to the fold, stating that the addition allows it to further deliver on its mission to supply the best products to the off-road community and enable owners to completely fit-out their vehicles. The Tailgate Assist Kits were introduced as a result of the Hulk 4X4 team recognising the inconvenience of difficult to manage weighty tailgates. Easy to fit with all the mounting hardware supplied, the Hulk 4X4 Tailgate Assist Kits consist of two struts – one assisting with the soft slow down direction of the tailgate, while the other side assists with the lifting in the up direction. With a heavy duty riveted head system, the kits are simple to use and can be operated with just one hand. Vehicle specific fitments are available for popular models including the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-MAX, Mazda BT-50, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Toyota HiLux and the Volkswagen Amarok. The Hulk 4X4 product range has been designed for premium performance in Australian conditions. For further information, please visit www.hulk4X4.com.au or contact your local CoolDrive Auto Parts branch. They feature a red coating to assist with the bedding in process and are designed for vehicles placing their brake system under significant pressure, such as those with a GVM upgrade or carrying significant loads. While they can be used in everyday applications, Terrain Tamer says the benefits of Terrain Tamer Fortified Brake Pads are most apparent in extreme braking events, such as long downhill durations, when the pad will hold its braking integrity. It explains benefits also include reduced dust and improved wear resistance and braking capacity, both beyond industry standard and surpassing their OE equivalent. ECB AND FORESTER SHARE 20 YEARS TOGETHER

East Coast Bullbars and the Subaru Forester have a relationship that spans two decades

East Coast Bullbars explains that Subaru was one of the first car companies in Australia to offer a “Five Star” ANCAP safety rating on every model and is still a pioneer today in occupant safety and new crash avoidance systems. The automotive landscape is ever changing, with ANCAP starting to play a huge part in customers buying behaviours. The Subaru brand gained enormous popularity, and in 1995, the Subaru Forester arrived on our shores and was welcomed by the safety conscious Australian public. The Subaru Forester offered a smaller, more cityfriendly alternative to the big barges people had to drive if they wanted to venture down a dirt track. At this time there weren’t a lot of aftermarket accessories available if you wanted to venture off road or outback. East Coast Bullbars identified this gap and designed a range of Frontal Protection Products including Alloy Nudge Bars and Bullbars to suit the Forester way back in 2002. Fast forward to 2022 and customers are now buying more SUVs than Passenger Cars or Light Commercial Vehicles put together. In fact, in 2021, over 45 percent of all new vehicles sold in Australia were SUVs. East Coast Bullbars says it has been leading the way in Frontal Protection Products for the SUV segment for over 25 years, partly due to the superior strength and lightweight nature of its premium grade structural Alloy used in every Bullbar. Combine this special material with ECB’s extensive design capabilities, and ECB says each customer enjoys the benefits of front protection that is strong and lightweight which can be polished, or power coated. The simple facts are Australians love getting off road and exploring this wonderful country. So, when you are looking for additional protection to suit your Subaru Forester, ECB sys you should look no further than its products as it is “Australia’s oldest and most respected Alloy Bullbar manufacturer.” The company was founded in Clontarf, Queensland in December 1971, and has been designing Nudge Bars and Bullbars to suit the Subaru Forester for over 20 years. When protection matters and you want the very best in frontal protection for your vehicle and its occupants, ECB says you should demand its products. The ECB range of Nudge Bars and Bullbars to suit the all-new 2022 Subaru Forester are now available to order at your nearest TJM, ARB or Opposite Lock store (stockist). KONI RAID AND HEAVY TRACK DAMPERS FOR 4X4

Available from Toperformance

When the asphalt comes to an end; and the rugged outback is just too tempting, Koni says its 4WD shock absorbers are the ideal all-terrain option. Toperformance says Koni sets off road standards with its unique blend of innovation, high performance technology and superior 4WD expertise. When it comes to discovering undulating gravel roads, outback tracks and mountain trails Koni has reportedly created an all-terrain damper without compromise. Koni Heavy Track and Raid four-wheel drive shock absorbers ranges are designed to improve vehicle damping characteristics both on and off road for SUV, 4WD and light truck applications. The Koni Heavy Track and Raid have been developed through years of off-road testing and torture from the deserts of the Dakar Rally to the Australian outback. The gruelling Dakar Rally ran through Saudi Arabia in early January this year. Hundreds of competitors from around the world tested their (and their vehicles’) endurance across many categories. In the Classic category, Koni was represented by a variety of teams, including the “Two Headed Monster” truck of DAF de Roy and a Lada Niva by 191 Classic Rally. Both of these vehicles had been raced in the Dakar decades before they aged their way into the Classic category. If any event is going to test a Koni to the extreme it would be the Dakar Rally, yet Koni says it has proved its quality and stamina time and time again. Moon Tours runs adventure-based 4x4 trips to the most remote and iconic corners of the Australian continent. Trent Moon, son of legendary travel explorers Ron and Viv Moon, says “growing up as a kid and over 20 years ago when I started in the 4WD industry, Koni shocks were the bees’ knees, and they still are today. “They are a shock absorber that is underrated and under marketed these days with all the fancy remote res and adjustable options out there now. But it you find a Koni owner you will find they’ll be a Koni owner for life,” Trent said. “They are that good, and without all the extra gadgetry and complication, which for 99 percent of us, yours truly included, isn’t necessary and does not mean they ride better for all the fanfare.” Made in the Netherlands, Toperformance has been the importer into Australia since 1970 with the ability to test, rebuild and customise shocks for every industry.
