Center for research and contemporary art creation
contemporary practices II This program was born in response to the Museums Day an established countrywide event which provokes massive audience to visit museums and exhibitions spaces. This phenomenon raises certain questions. For example, does it make culture more accessible or more spectacular? Does it create participants or audience? What needs these events underline? How are the resources managed? Where is the current contemporary art production generated? Prรกcticas contemporรกneas is a symposium created by AADK Spain to question and analyse these variables.

Paella at the Terrace of Centro Negra
The AADK Spain, has created devotees to the famous paellas, made in various encounters along the last two years in Centro Negra. For Prácticas Contemporáneas, we cannot miss this successful culinary meeting which distinguishes Centro Negra. Hurry up to reserve your plates, because they fly fast into the mountain.

Centro Negra s Artists in Residency Miha Strukelj Miha is interested in how the city dynamics develops through variety of impacts. Miha researches local history and architecture. In particular, how subsequent structure of the city has changed throughout history, and how it was affected by various external influences, where was it just preserved, where it was expanded or where it became a ruin. All the way back from the Arab conquest to the modern West Europe. Is the Moorish Castle, which became a landmark just a kind of monument-ruin, or if there is something more to it. When preparing a referential image the artist is interested in the dialectic of real-imaginary. This also relates to the understanding of modern digital technology, which completely saturates imagery and transforms our perception of reality.
Bridget Currie (Australia) Bridget Currie experiments with the interaction between the body, sculptural objects and the landscape for several years. Responding to the theme of ʻbody space territoryʼ, she takes up AADK residency program in Centro Negra as an opportunity to work in direct contact with the landscape and to experiment with forms and ways of presenting her sculptural objects in an outdoor environment – not in a fixed monumental relationship but as a fluid, playful visitation comparable to the difference between a picnic and a holiday house.

back door
Back Door is a program which introduces contemporary art creation into the clubbing culture. It is evident that the mass culture based on electronic music production, design and fashion affects the imagery of artistic creation. The intention of this program is that the art reaches and affects other audiences in the same way. Thus, we break the barriers between production bound to specialized audiences in institutional spaces and the sound and visual production in popular culture, which is more open to a wider audience.
