Travelling with Pets - All Welcome? Check before you go!

Once you’ve decided to take your pet on holiday and you know where you’re going, you need to double-check the place you’re planning to stay does indeed accept pets.

Some hosts may say they welcome the entire family – two-legged and four – but there are conditions.

Common rules and requirements of pet-friendly places include:

> Only certain types of pets allowed (eg dogs not cats)

> No puppies allowed

> Limit on the number of pets you can bring

> Limit to the number of animals on site at one time

> Not allowing certain breeds> Pets must not be aggressive> Must be clean and flea free

> Must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations

> Must keep to designated areas

> Must keep out of the lobby and dining areas

> Must stay outdoors (eg inkennels)

> Be crated at night> Not allowed on furniture> Not left alone in rooms> Extra cleaning fee charged

> Owners financially liable if any damage caused

> Pets on-leash in communal areas
