The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre is a showcase of pioneering film and kinetic sculpture artist Len Lye, and boasts an ever-changing series of exhibitions that span his work as well as top contemporary artists from around New Zealand and the world. The surrounding arts precinct features a growing number of galleries, cafés, boutique fashion stores and accommodation.

Throughout Taranaki you’ll be able to sample the works of the region’s artists. Start with Stratford’s Percy Thomson Gallery or Hāwera’s Lysaght Watt Gallery and explore private galleries and studios right around Taranaki Maunga. In spring, experience the Taranaki Arts Trail and the Ōakura Arts Trail. The stunning street art and outdoor sculptures are also worth a visit. Explore deeper by following the Coastal Arts Trail, which showcases galleries and studios across Taranaki, Whanganui and Manawatū.
