2024 Ag Aviation Expo Sets Records
The 2024 Ag Aviation Expo, held at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, set new records for the ag aviation community. With record-breaking attendance, innovative exhibits, and engaging programming, this year’s event proved why it remains a must-attend gathering for all of those in ag aviation.
Sunday marked the installation of new 2025 NAAA Officers who will steer the Association in the new year. Mike Rivenbark (NC) was voted in as President, joined by Matt Hovdenes (ND) as Vice President, Tim Swanson (MI) as Secretary, and Sue Stewart (NM) as Treasurer.
The NAAREF fundraiser, “Bucking for PAASS,” was the highlight of Sunday’s events. Participants flocked to the mechanical bull, raising substantial funds for NAAREF while enjoying friendly competition.
Kevin Humphreys delivered an inspiring keynote at the Kickoff Breakfast, speaking of the often misunderstood subject of mental health. Anderson & Riddle presented an insurance mock
trial, another standout session, offering valuable insights into navigating complex industry challenges.
This year’s central location in Fort Worth and (maybe) an event scheduled earlier in the year contributed to an unprecedented 1,812 attendees and 165 exhibitors— and according to NAAA, the highest turnout since tracking began more than twenty years ago. The bustling convention hall was packed with ag aviation professionals exploring our industry's latest products and services. Booth traffic was so high that we ran out of magazines!
Beyond the exhibits and presentations, the Expo remains a cornerstone for reconnecting with friends and colleagues. Networking and exchanging insights reinforced why this event is more than just a conference—it’s an investment in your profession, and everyone should attend!
As the year winds down, state shows are underway, kicking off a busy travel season for AAU in January with Louisiana, followed by events in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and beyond. February promises a packed schedule as well, including a trip to Canada.
Thank you for making 2024 an unforgettable year. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you next year!

DSU Commercial Aviation Program Receives Generous Aircraft Donation from Jetran
Delta State University's Commercial Aviation program has received a major boost, thanks to a generous donation from Jetran, an aircraft manufacturing consultancy based in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
During a recent fly-in event at Box Field in Sunflower County, Jetran gifted Delta State with a Grumman-Schweizer Ag Cat, a single-engine agricultural aircraft, facilitated by the efforts of aviation enthusiast and retired ag pilot Buddy Box.
This contribution was secured after extensive work by Delta State's team, including Dr. Lori Spencer, Chief Development Officer and Chief of Staff for the DSU Foundation, along with former chair of the Commercial Aviation Department Colonel Brad MacNealy and owner and operator of Shelby Air Ike Brunetti, who are dedicated to expanding the aerial application training program at Delta State.
"Brad, Ike, and I have been working to build up this program by connecting with industry leaders who could support it through scholarships, equipment donations, and expertise," Spencer said. "In the fall of 2023, we learned about Buddy Box and his interest in donating an aircraft. After multiple conversations with Buddy, we saw the immense value this Ag Cat would bring to our ag aviation students and took steps to make the transfer happen."
Dr. Suzette Matthews, Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the Delta State University Foundation, signed the bill of sale to finalize the transfer. "We are incredibly grateful to Jetran and Buddy Box for their remarkable generosity," said Matthews. "This aircraft will offer invaluable, hands-on learning opportunities for our students, equipping them with skills essential for the agricultural aviation sector."
The unique fly-in event also offered Delta State students the opportunity to engage with industry leaders from Raytheon, FedEx and Mammoth Freighters, alongside Box and Jetran representatives. Box, who piloted agricultural planes from 1964 to 1995, recounted the Ag Cat's history and the inspiration behind the donation.
"This plane served as a training aircraft for a few years," Box said. "After it sustained damage during an ice storm, we restored it, and I knew Delta State would benefit from it. I'm thrilled that these students will be able to use it to gain valuable hands-on experience."
Douglas Jaffe, CEO of Jetran, expressed his enthusiasm for Delta State's students. "I hope the students enjoy the airplane," he said. "At Jetran, we value practical experience and strive to offer solutions that enhance the capabilities of aviation professionals worldwide. We're excited to support Delta State's mission to train skilled pilots who are ready to serve the industry."
Since 1985, Jetran has served the transport category industry, providing custom solutions in areas from financing to maintenance. The donation underscores Delta State's role in the field, positioning the University as a leader in training for agricultural and commercial aviation.
Chair of the Commercial Aviation Department Major Allen Williams emphasized the donation's alignment with the program's growth initiatives.
He said, "Our senator, Cindy Hyde-Smith, a former agriculture and commerce commissioner for Mississippi, has long supported the need for skilled ag pilots. This gift aligns perfectly with Delta State's goals, and we're not only strengthening our professional pilot program but expanding into UAVs, air traffic control, and maintenance. This spring, we'll launch a maintenance apprenticeship program, allowing students to gain practical experience while they complete our Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree. These steps are setting the foundation for a comprehensive aviation education that will serve Mississippi and beyond."
Spencer said, "I'm grateful to Mr. Jaffe and Jetran for their trust and generosity, and I look forward to welcoming him to DSU in the future."

AG AVIATION STYLE
by Ted Delange
As with past years, in the spirit of the Twelve Days of Christmas, we put together a synopsis of this year’s monthly columns to bring in the Yuletide season. We revisit ideas, tips and techniques others have passed along to improve what we do and how we do it. Complete articles from past issues are available under “Browse Our Archives.”
January – High Fives
At the beginning of the off-season, it’s time to take a welldeserved break in the action and highlight the hard work that went into operations throughout the past year. It’s a reminder of the vital importance of aerial application in ensuring bountiful yields and helping grow food for a hungry world. There are many well-deserved “high fives” throughout the industry.
February – Crunching the Numbers
Risk management (RM) has become an essential part of aerial application operations in today's environment of expensive equipment and soaring input costs. The National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) and the National Agricultural Aviation Research & Education Foundation (NAAREF) websites detail several excellent programs designed to address the risks associated with aerial application work, and the FAA’s Risk Management Handbook 2022 is an excellent source of guidance on the topic.
(Continued on page 40)
March – Spring Training
Skills tend to gain a bit of rust during the off-season, and it’s essential to recognize this decreased level of performance, which naturally accompanies a break in the action. Many ag operators have a “spring training” refresher program in place at the beginning of a new season, where everyone takes the time to get reacquainted with the details of their job to ensure all pieces of the puzzle come together smoothly when the rubber hits the road.
April – CAAA President Aaron Trudell
Situated 60 miles away from the Motor City on the Canadian side of the Detroit River, Zimmer Air Services Inc (ZASI) has
been in the aerial application business for over 40 years, currently running a fleet of fixed and rotary wing aircraft. We caught up with Ops Manager Aaron Trudell in his new role as President of the Canadian Aerial Application Association (CAAA). It’s always interesting and educational to check out the perspectives of the association executive on the many aspects of the industry from operational issues to working in partnership with the national and provincial regulatory agencies.
May – On the Road Again
Part and parcel of many aerial application operations is the ability to efficiently move from home base to being “on the road” via remote and unfamiliar airstrips. There is a period of adjustment during which we must quickly become familiar with the specific requirements of the new location to ensure safe and effective operations. The article provides a number of guidelines to help adapt to a new location, so the only surprises you get are pleasant ones.
(Continued on page 42)
June – Are You Sure?
Many ag pilots have found themselves in a situation where the aircraft was accidentally overloaded, the direct result being a compromising situation where takeoff becomes an “I’m not so sure!” event. It’s pretty remarkable how even small increases in load can greatly decrease aircraft performance. If you’re not 100% sure that the takeoff will be without incident, take the time to unload the extra product. Being sure is not an option. It’s a mandate.
July – Blowing in the Wind
Due to the fickle nature of Mother Nature, aerial applicators often are faced with the choice of flying in suitable
weather or parking the aircraft when the weather is out of limits and waiting until things settle down. While it’s challenging to choose to shut down with a long lineup of anxious farmers standing in line at the airstrip to get their crops sprayed before they’re toast, don’t press the capricious gods of the skies. It seldom pays dividends and, more often than not, will get you into hot water. Here are a few reminders to help keep your guard up.
August – Into the Darkness
We’ve all been there when our good judgment gets the heave-ho, and our selection of available options is questionable. While armchair quarterbacks can offer sage but baseless advice on what you should have done, decision-making is a very complex exercise, where the diagnosis and situational awareness can be compromised when made in an office moving at over 120 mph near Terra firma in a risky environment. Here are a couple of bases you should cover to keep your judgment safe and sound.
(Continued on page 44)
September – The Domino Effect
The aerial application business can get very hectic, with extended hours in the cockpit, minimal sleep, and the ongoing pressure to continue operations even in marginal conditions. Together, those many factors can lead to an accident waiting to happen. It’s the domino effect where you stand domino tiles close together in a line. If one should tip over, it starts a chain reaction, and they all come tumbling down. In the real world, one minor incident can lead to another (and another and another…) and can quickly get you out of the safety zone.
October – Ag Pilots’ Maxims
WWI German fighter ace Oswald Boelcke developed a set of rules for aerial combat that was so successful that the Allies soon adopted them. Over time, those principles became the basis for U.S. and Canadian air combat training. This bit of aviation history
certainly rings a familiar tune when it comes to the genesis and growth of aerial application, where the industry has taken great strides in fostering ab initio and ongoing training as part and parcel of standard operating procedures. This article offers some suggested maxims to those SOPs.
November – Einstein and Ag Aviation
But by far, the biggest revolution in modern ag aviation came with the introduction of GPS satellite systems in the early 90s. The satellites broadcast both position and timing corrections to receivers. According to Albert Einstein’s theories, time can slow down depending on the satellite’s speed and position relative to Earth, a phenomenon known as time dilation. If this is not corrected, the system will rapidly become unusable. The next time you set up your GPS, appreciate the genius of a messy-haired physicist named Albert, who revolutionized the science of time and distance, making our jobs as ag pilots much easier.
TURNING DATA INTO ACTION
Ipanema Ethanol Certification Marks 20 Years
Embraer is celebrating the 20th anniversary of ANAC, Brazil's civil aviation authority, certifying its Ipanema EMB-202A to use ethanol as fuel.
Originally issued on October 19, 2004, this certification made the Ipanema EMB-202A the first civilian factory-built aircraft to use ethanol as fuel.
In fact, as early as 1985, the Centro Técnico Aeroespacial, a Brazilian Air Force research branch, had been testing versions of the Lycoming IO-540-K1D5 engine with ethanol. This engine was used in the T-25 Universal military trainer built by Neiva, an Embraer subsidiary for the Brazilian Air Force. Coincidentally, the same engine powered the Ipanema from the EMB-201 to the EMB-202A versions. By 2004, ample data was proving that ethanol did not compromise the engine's durability and even provided a slight performance boost, increasing horsepower from 300 to 320.
Since then, according to Embraer, over 570 Ipanemas have left the factory configured to burn ethanol. The factory also offered a conversion program for older Ipanema models with the same engine. As ethanol engines proved as reliable as their Avgas counterparts, ANAC relaxed regulations for converting agricultural aircraft engines, leading many thirdparty shops to offer the service.
Ethanol has been used as car fuel in Brazil since 1979, in response to the 1975 oil crisis, and is widely available. Until recently, all ethanol in Brazil was derived from sugarcane, as it was cheaper than corn-based ethanol. However, new technologies have made ethanol from corn and even wheat economically viable, allowing regions that don’t grow sugarcane to produce ethanol. While ethanol contains about 30% less energy per gallon than avgas, this is more than offset by the cost difference, as ethanol in Brazil is priced at just 25-30% of the cost of avgas. Ethanol also has a higher octane rating, which contributes to the slight power increase, and is more environmentally friendly, renewable, and unleaded.
The lower cost and wide availability of ethanol fuel revitalized Brazil's piston agricultural plane market. Thanks to ethanol, piston-powered agricultural planes can compete with turbine models in smaller fields. The success of the ethanol-powered Ipanema led to conversions for other engines, such as the Continental IO-520 and IO-550 used in the Cessna 188 series and even the Pratt & Whitney R-1340, found in the Air Tractor AT-401B and radial-powered Thrush aircraft.
Because of ethanol, the Ipanema EMB-202A remained in production until it was succeeded in 2016 by the improved and more productive EMB-203, which continues to be a strong contender in the Brazilian market.

Zanoni and Turbine Conversions Visit the Last Agricultural Frontier – Africa
by Ernesto Franzen, as told by Lucas Zanoni and Ann Hatfield-Grahek
Take a look at the world map. Crops — and the ag aviation operators who care for them — are already well established everywhere except in Africa.
Africa has the most potential for agricultural growth, as it still has vast tracts of arable land that have not yet been cultivated. That’s excellent news, especially considering that Africa has the highest population growth rate in the world. An agricultural boom is on the horizon. This potential is one of the reasons Zanoni and Turbine Conversions recently visited South Africa.
Around the same time Lucas Zanoni was planning the Africa trip, Ann Hatfield-Grahek, of Turbine Conversions (TCL), was invited
by Elsabe Carstens of Ag Aviation Africa—the African dealer for Air Tractor—to a special event scheduled for September 2024. The event coincided with a major aerospace and defense exhibition. Given their partnership with Zanoni, Ann requested to join their team on the trip and was graciously welcomed.
Lucas Zanoni first arrived in Cape Town, where he gave a presentation to 15 agricultural operators. Dellair Aviation Services, a maintenance company, organized the event.
Zanoni’s involvement with the African ag aviation industry began nearly 20 years ago when a South African operator visited the Zanoni booth at a Sindag convention and expressed interest in their stainless steel product line. Due to Africa’s

limited infrastructure, operators often find themselves 400 miles from the nearest maintenance shop and 1,300 miles from a parts dealer. This makes durability and reliability crucial for equipment. That initial interaction resulted in Zanoni’s first international sale. Later, Mitch Spall of Natal Aerial Spray in KwaZulu-Natal purchased a firegate from Zanoni and enlisted Danie Vermeulen—now the co-owner of Dellair Aviation Services with his wife Lizelle—to install it.
Today, Dellair Aviation Services represents Zanoni in South Africa. With five facilities nationwide, Dellair specializes in various aviation services, from engine overhauls to King Air maintenance. Their Parys facility in the Free State province focuses on agricultural aircraft, servicing over 30 Air Tractors and Thrush aircraft. During the Zanoni team’s visit, the Dellair team was repairing an Air Tractor that had made an "unscheduled landing." Thankfully, the pilot was unharmed, and the aircraft sustained only prop damage. Danie suspected fuel contamination as the cause and highlighted the benefits of TCL’s Single Point Fueling System, estimating it would pay for itself within a year by reducing fuel theft and contamination risks. Dellair is now an authorized TCL dealer and installation center.
province. Steve, an Air Tractor operator with a dual-cockpit AT-802 and the AgNav dealer in South Africa, provided valuable feedback on his award-winning operation, known for its innovative farming techniques.
The next day, the Zanoni-TCL team traveled to Bethlehem in the Free State province to visit Orsmond Aviation, a certified Thrush service center. They were impressed by the high-quality services and operations, which include a sizeable aerial application business serving clients across South Africa.
On September 17th, the team visited Sandriver Crop Protection in Tzaneen, Limpopo Province. Sandriver is the second-largest ag operator in South Africa and Zanoni’s largest customer on the continent. Owned by Billie Erasmus, Sandriver operates Air Tractors and helicopters across multiple African countries and maintains a satellite operation in Indiana, USA.
Following their time in Tzaneen, the team headed to Pretoria for the Africa Aerospace and Defense Show, the primary purpose of their visit. Ag Aviation Africa, led by Graham Wells and his team, had a prominent presence at the event, featuring a hospitality suite and an Air Tractor AT-502XP on display amidst tanks,

drones, and other defense technologies. Representatives from the Air Tractor factory and AG PilotX from the U.S. also attended. The event provided an excellent networking opportunity for Zanoni Equipamentos (a sponsor) and Turbine Conversions Ltd., showcasing the growth and innovation in the African aviation industry.
South Africa is currently the most developed country in Africa for ag aviation. With a temperate climate, it produces various crops, including citrus, lychee, avocados, grains, and soybeans. Like the U.S. and Brazil, South African agriculture faces environmental challenges, but the country addresses these issues with innovative solutions.

Besides operating a fleet of Thrush ag planes, Orsmond Aviation is the Thrush Aircraft Service Center in Africa.
The Zanoni folks and Ann Hatfield-Grahek group up for a photo with the Sandriver Crop Protection team.
Wildfires are also on the rise in South Africa. The government often hires ag operators to fight fires rather than establishing dedicated firefighting operations or staterun aerial firefighting agencies. Many farm operators equip their ag aircraft with fire gates to combat fires on their own land.
Several sub-Saharan countries with climates similar to Brazil’s Midwest are looking to Brazil’s experience in developing tropical agriculture. A significant agricultural boom is anticipated in the region over the next 15–20 years, mirroring the growth seen in Brazil in recent decades. Many farmers lack the resources for aerial applications and hire South African operators like Sandriver Crop Protection. In some cases, local governments purchase ag aircraft to provide services for small-scale farmers who cannot afford them. As these regions adopt modern agricultural techniques, increased yields will lead to greater prosperity and the ability to invest in their aircraft.
As Ann Hatfield-Grahek says, “The future of agricultural aviation in Africa is bright, and I am excited to be part of this growing industry.”

Proper Engine Handling CRAYMER’S COUNSEL
When the Engine is Not on the Airplane…
We have discussed many topics regarding how to care for your airplane's engine while it is operating. Several recent instances have made me think we should also discuss engine handling when the engine is removed from the aircraft.
If your engine must be removed and shipped for repair or overhaul, you must ensure that you follow the guidelines in the engine maintenance manual. Mishandling engines and power sections has caused several issues, leading to very costly repairs.
When you read the engine chapter in your maintenance manual (72-00-00) under the servicing topic, the bulk is how to remove, install, store, and ship the engine or one of its modules. Types of containers, necessary tooling, temperatures and humidity, and details and instructions are offered. The very first thing is a word of caution. “To prevent possible bearing damage…” is how caution starts. Then it warns users to use shock-mounted skids for ALL engine transportation. If you have noticed, rubber isolators are on the skid base for the engine or the approved power section boxes. These isolators are there to absorb the vibration caused by traveling. In most states I have been to, some roads highlight the need for these isolators. You know the streets I’m talking about. (Continued

most states I have been to, some roads highlight the need for these isolators. You know the streets I’m talking about.
We see engines in all kinds of conditions. People hit things; engines ingest things; many times, engines make it to TBO and are sent for an overhaul. What is heartbreaking is when the engines are not appropriately secured for shipping. It is sad to see the damage and additional costs caused by mishandling.
What happens when an engine is damaged due to mishandling?
The most common is the damage sustained due to an engine being dropped. As the operator/owner, you must supply details to help us establish how much inspection needs to be done. We need to know the circumstances that brought us to this point, the type of surface the engine or container struck, and the height from which it struck. This helps to determine the severity of the damage we are looking for. If an unapproved shipping skid has been utilized, we rely on Pratt & Whitney Canada engineering to aid us in determining a course forward. In most events, the engine must be disassembled to some extent
to inspect the mainline bearings. Depending on the model, the engine has six or seven of these. Some work scopes have dictated the replacement of all the mainline bearings. At several thousand dollars each, multiplied by six or seven, you can see how that can add up quickly.
Inspection will also include looking for engine mount damage and checking the condition of external tubing, lines, brackets and other sheet metal parts for distortion, dents, and
Failed power section box.
Shipping containers.
bending. Then we open the engine to check for internal damage to gears, disks, blades, etc. Even a bench check of the accessories is done. If damage is done to the accessory, it is submitted for overhaul. It can be a very extensive inspection added to whatever repair the engine required that caused the initial removal.
In all cases, the manual calls out a rubber-mounted steel cradle to hold and support the engine during transit and storage. I encourage everyone to review your engine maintenance manual regarding shipping and storage. Talk to your maintenance provider if you need help finding an appropriate shipping skid. I know that we have sent shipping containers worldwide for our customers. Be sure to check with your insurance carrier and discuss coverage of your engine when it is not on the airplane. Not many folks give much thought to engine handling when the engine is off the aircraft. I hope each of you does and doesn’t end up costing yourselves even more.

The Chem-Man Photo Contest
Recently, I found myself scouring all available resources for pictures and other media I could use for presentations and videos in the upcoming convention season. It didn’t take me long to realize I had an entire arsenal of photographs featuring some of the best shots of aerial agricultural aircraft that were comprised every year from the annual Chem-Man photo contest.
Before I knew it, I spent several hours scrolling between hundreds of pictures from year after year of photo contest submissions. It’s hard to imagine what could be captured in a single photograph, yet the childlike excitement I get every time I hear or see an ag plane flying through the countryside is evident in every picture I scrolled through.
Since 2015, Chem-Man has hosted an annual photo contest with social media's aid. The contest was inspired by ChemMan’s owner and founder, Regina Farmer, who recalls one day soliciting on one of the ag flying Facebook groups for
in awe of some of the photos received and was struck with the idea of engaging the ag flying community in a fun way to showcase some of the often-overlooked mesmerizing shots that many of the ag pilots can capture.
Since the photo contest’s inaugural year in 2015, its reach and popularity have grown exponentially, with some photos even gaining likes and views in countries outside of the U.S. Aside from the astonishing reach, Chem-Man has given away over $150,000 in prizes for those lucky enough to land themselves each year in the top 3 photos with the most likes.
The photo contest begins on December 1st at 8:00 am CST. Anyone wishing to participate must email up to 5 photographs to “support@chem-man.com.” Contestants have until December 16th at 5:00 pm CST to complete the last of their submissions. The photos that Chem-Man receives are then individually posted from the Chem-Man Facebook page, where contestants can then share the original post onto their own Facebook account, where they can begin sharing and receiving likes. At 5:00 pm on December 27th, the three photos with the most likes on the original Facebook post will be chosen as the winners.
Third Place Winner – Blayne Rowland
The First Place Winner will receive a full-year subscription to Chem-Man software ($4950), a one-year subscription to Service Life by DataSmart ($720), an Apple iPad, a $300 Amazon gift card, a two-year subscription to AgAir Update, a printed canvas of the prize-winning photo, and 10 Gallons of Wind-Fall.
Second Place Winner will receive a Chem-Man subscription up to $3450, a one-year subscription to Service Life by DataSmart ($720), a $200 gift card, a two-year subscription to AgAir Update, and a printed canvas of their prize-winning photo.
Lastly, the Third Place Winner will receive a one-year subscription to Chem-Man software for up to $3450, a one-year subscription to Service Life by DataSmart ($720, a one-year subscription to AgAir Update, and a printed canvas of their prize-winning photo.
The photo contest is a great tool to help mold a better perception of how the public views the agricultural aviation industry. I’ve mentioned before the harsh reality that our industry faces every day is the negative view from the public. Seeing so many ag pilots provide an opportunity for the public to engage in what the operators do and see daily is a relief. As we are just now entering the convention season, I will be thrilled to see so many operators recognize their photos as they are displayed at the Chem-Man booth.
We look forward to another photo contest beginning soon and hope that everyone who reads this article has something they would like to share with our followers. We appreciate those generously donating their products and services as grand prize winnings.

Seed Oils are Bad and Toxic Mythbusting: SPREADING THE FACTS
Seed oils have faced their fair share of scrutiny, being called things like “The Hateful Eight”. There are always new trends in food and nutrition, with people constantly searching for what could be added or taken away from their diet to make them healthier.
The myth that seed oils are harmful, toxic, and should be completely removed from your diet is an ongoing trend in nutrition these days. Nutrition often isn’t that simple. Let’s do some myth-busting around seed oils because they don’t deserve the hate they’ve received from social media.
Seed oils are comprised of eight main kinds: canola oil (aka rapeseed oil), corn oil, cottonseed oil, grapeseed oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, rice bran oil and peanut oil. Seed and vegetable oils have been around for a long time. China and Japan produced soybean oil as early as 3000 B.C. Canola was bred through conventional plant breeding methods in Canada during the 1960s and ’70s(1) to significantly reduce the levels of erucic acid and glucosinolates in the parent rapeseed for use in food.
One of the biggest myths about seed oils is that the omega-6 fatty acids in them are toxic and unhealthy. There are two families of polyunsaturated fats, omega-3 and omega-6, suitable for the heart and body. Your body needs both of these to function but
can’t produce them. This means that we need to get them from our diets. Seed oils are a great source of both of these, especially omega-6 fats. In the past, researchers have suggested that a diet too rich in omega-6 fats can cause inflammation, which can lead to arthritis, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and more. More recent research has shown that any inflammation associated with omega-6 fats has not been shown to be harmful (2). In fact, fats of all kinds are essential in your diet. They provide us with energy, support cell function, help us absorb nutrients, support hormone health, and more.
Another myth of seed oils is that they’re bad because you don’t often know when you're consuming them. Seed oils are frequently used in processed foods. Ultra-processed foods are generally known for not being healthy. Still, it’s impossible to blame seed oils solely, especially since these ultra-processed foods contain many other things, like added sodium or sugar.
Seed oils have also come under fire thanks to the methods used to produce them (3). Seed oils need to be refined, which requires more processing than olive oil, which simply requires olives to be pressed. Seed oils are produced by using a few different steps. First, the seeds are pressed to extract the oil. Then, the oil is refined. During the refining process, oils are heated to a temperature that drives off volatile compounds, which makes the oil more stable. This is why refined oils have higher smoke points and a longer shelf life than unrefined oils. That temperature is lower than the temperature necessary to oxidize the oil. After this, the oil is deodorized. Deodorization
is a steam distillation process that drives off the unwanted aldehydes, ketones, alcohols and short-chain fatty acids that cause undesirable odors. Careful execution of this process improves the stability and color of the oil while preserving its nutritional value. After the steam distillation process, the oil is conditioned under nitrogen to prevent oxidation.
While seed oils are not always healthy if you consume them too much, they are a healthy addition to your diet if you use them in cooking (how they’re meant to be used). Seed oils can also help you enjoy more foods. Having a choice between different fats to use for cooking (butter, olive oil, seed oils, etc.) allows you to find the flavor that fits best with what you’re cooking. If using any of these fats helps you enjoy more vegetables and other nutritious foods, it's a healthy addition to your meal.
Seed oils are not the villains they are made out to be. They are a safe, versatile, and healthy option. They provide necessary omega-6 fatty acids and are produced using safe methods that extend the product's shelf life. Social media is making seed oils out to be something terrible that you should stop consuming. This isn’t true; seed oils aren’t bad for you or toxic. Don’t listen to all the fearmongering trends you see online; the internet doesn’t always know what is healthy or nutritious.
The Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it…
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth…The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:1-5, 14, 29).
The apostle Paul wrote, “God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16). The difference between other religions and Christianity is that Christianity believes that the God of the Old Testament put on a human body, and without ceasing to be God, He came and lived on this earth as fully God and fully man for about 33 years. Christianity’s conviction that God took on a human form in the man Jesus of Nazareth is central to the Christian faith. If this isn’t true, then there’s no other adequate explanation of how the sin barrier that separates a holy God from sinful mankind can be taken away. The Old Testament says that God would take on human nature in His plan to redeem mankind from our sin and bring reconciliation between Himself and mankind (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7, 53:3-12).
When Adam sinned against God his spiritual life died, and from that point on all of mankind were born as dichotomous (body and soul) beings with a spiritual emptiness at the center of their being and could no longer have fellowship with God. The barrier between God and man is impossible for mankind to cross; a finite man cannot cross over into the infinite; but God can cross over from the infinite into the finite world. The disciples asked Jesus, “Who can be saved?” Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). The barrier that separates God and mankind was impossible for mere humans to overcome. Mankind’s efforts would have to be measured by God’s perfect holiness and righteousness; an impossible task for sinful mankind.
God took the skin of an innocent animal and covered Adam and Eve’s sin. Not pronouncing the death penalty on Adam and Eve, but providing an animal substitute to die in their place, was a demonstration of the greatness of God’s grace. God continued the pattern of an innocent animal dying for the sin of man with the people of Israel in the Law of Moses. The Hebrew word “kaphar” translated into the English word “atonement” throughout the Old Testament means “to cover.” This was a temporary covering of their sin. Jeremiah indicated that the Law of Moses was a temporary covenant when God spoke of a future new covenant He would establish with Israel (Jeremiah 31:31). God’s plan for permanent forgiveness of sin existed before the world began (1 Peter 1:20).
Over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the coming of the Messiah were literally fulfilled by the birth, life and death of Jesus of Nazareth. The chances of those prophecies being fulfilled by mere coincidence by one man are so mathematically staggering that it's
almost impossible to calculate. The prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the Messiah makes it very clear that the promised Messiah would be both God and man. This is evident from the prophecies that refer to Him as a child, a son, almighty God and eternal God. “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel…For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6).
Jesus of Nazareth was born into this world over 2000 years ago according to the predictions of the Old Testament. Jesus of Nazareth perfectly fulfilled every qualification to be the Son of the living God, Savior of mankind, and both the Messiah to Israel and the Savior of all mankind. “When the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:4-7).
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?...I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 11:25, 14:6). Speaking of Jesus of Nazareth, Peter said, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). My question to you, “Is Jesus of Nazareth your Lord and Savior?”

Accident Number: CEN24FA287
Location: Nashua, IA
Date: July 29, 2024
Aircraft: BELL 206
Injuries: 1 Fatal
On July 29, 2024 about 1330 central standard time, a Bell 206-B3 Helicopter was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Nashua, Iowa. The pilot was fatally injured.
The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight.
The operator reported that the pilot was scheduled to spray insecticide and fungicide over local cornfields. Preliminary data retrieved from an onboard GPS aerial application guidance system showed that the helicopter departed from a farm, about 3 statute miles west of Nashua, at 0905, and proceeded to spray several fields south of the accident site. At 1244, the helicopter began a back-and-forth pattern in an east/west direction over a field bisected by a power transmission line. The flight track ceased at 1326:50, about 1,750 feet west of the accident site.
The helicopter came to rest inverted in a cornfield about 200 feet southeast of a powerline tower and was oriented on a heading of 280° true. All the major structural components of the helicopter were located at
the accident site. The first piece of wreckage found was a section of the main rotor blade afterbody (upper and lower blade skins and sandwiched aluminum honeycomb) located about 10 feet east of the powerlines. Two severed powerline conductors were observed near the wreckage, and an illegible black and white sticker was removed by investigators from the intact west conductor that sustained abrasion damage.
The airframe was found fragmented into multiple pieces consistent with impact forces. The nose section of the fuselage was found underneath the main fuselage at the accident site. A fracture of the semi-monocoque aft fuselage was observed and found about 40 ft west of the main fuselage. The tail boom exhibited several fractures and was strewn about the wreckage site. The upper wire strike cutter did not show evidence of any contact with wires. The lower wire strike cutter exhibited evidence of contact with wires. The main rotor hub and blades were found about 80 feet southeast of the main fuselage. Both blade spars were intact from the grip to the blade tips. Both blades remained attached to the hub through their respective blade bolts. The mast nut remained attached to the mast. The mast was fractured just below the main rotor hub static contact stop area consistent with bending overload during the accident sequence. The mast remained installed in the main transmission. The transmission drive input was rotated by hand, and free movement through the transmission was observed with corresponding mast rotation. The main driveshaft was fractured in overload at the forward main transmission flexures consistent with impact forces during the impact sequence. The isolation mount under the forward KAflex coupling sustained substantial gouging consistent with rotational contact from the KAflex coupling during the accident sequence. The aft tail boom section and attached tail rotor were found about 110 ft east of the main fuselage. The aft tail boom was fractured about 4 feet forward of the tail rotor gearbox. The tail rotor assembly remained intact and attached to its mounting pads. The tail rotor assembly was rotated by hand, and free rotation through the tail rotor gearbox input was observed. Pitch change through the tail rotor blades was observed by hand twisting the blades. The airframe did not reveal signs of pre-impact anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.
The engine was discovered to be separated between the gearbox and exhaust collector support/hot section. The hot section was located about 45 feet from the main fuselage. The turbine section, including outer combustion
and compressor discharge tubes, contained extensive crush damage. The compressor and scroll assembly remained securely attached to the gearbox and was located in the area of the engine compartment. All engine mounts were fractured. The KAflex driveshaft remained securely attached to the freewheeling unit and engine gearbox PTO drive. The KAflex shaft had separated at the main rotor transmission and associated flexor straps. The internal driveshaft and freewheeling unit operated properly when rotated by hand. N1 continuity was established from the compressor inlet through the gearbox and starter generator by hand rotation. All associated gearbox N1 drive pads were continuous and smooth. N2 continuity was established throughout the gearbox, KAflex shaft and all associated drive pads by hand rotation. A straw-colored fluid with the odor of Jet A1 was evident in the airframe filter, engine filter, and fuel tubes between the engine-driven pump and fuel control unit (FCU). The fuel pump and filter were removed and examined. Both the airframe and engine fuel filters contained an amount of foreign material but were not occluded. The fuel collected appeared clean and clear of debris. The engine did not reveal signs of pre-impact anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.
A representative of the helicopter operator flew in a similar Bell 206 helicopter, the last known flight path, towards the wires along the tree line from west to east (090° heading). He reported that the wires were masked by a hill in front of the helicopter’s route and were practically invisible with the background of the cornfield. He also stated that while flying on the south side of the tree line at spray height, he could not see the transmission tower to his left, and the next tower to his right was out of his field of view.
An automated 911 call was made from the pilot’s iPhone as a result of the impact.
The helicopter was recovered and transported to a secure location for further examination at a later date.
Accident Number: CEN24LA303
Location: Bryant, IA
Date: August 3, 2024
Aircraft: ROBINSON HELICOPTER R44
Injuries: None
On August 3, 2024, about 1337 central daylight time, a Robinson R-44 helicopter sustained substantial damage
(Continued on page 72)
when it was involved in an accident near Bryant, Iowa. The pilot was not injured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight.
Before departure, the helicopter was loaded with about 7 gallons of 100 low lead fuel and about 45 gallons of mixed liquid product to apply to a corn field. After takeoff from a load truck, the pilot noticed a drop in rotor rpm. The pilot followed an area of terrain that sloped downward in an attempt to gain airspeed. The pilot attempted to increase rotor rpm but was unsuccessful. The pilot attempted to flare and land the helicopter; however, the helicopter impacted an area of rising terrain and came to rest on its left side. The pilot was able to egress from the helicopter without further incident.
The helicopter sustained substantial damage to the fuselage, the main rotor system, the tailboom, and the tail rotor system. The helicopter was recovered from the accident site for a future examination of the airframe and engine. The helicopter was equipped with a Lycoming O-520-F1B5 reciprocating engine.
Accident Number: CEN24LA380
Location: Francesville, IN
Date: August 7, 2024
Aircraft: XAG P100 PRO
Injuries: 1 Serious
On August 7, 2024, about 1510 eastern daylight time, an XAG P100 Pro unmanned aircraft system (UAS) sustained minor damage when it was involved in an accident near Francesville, Indiana. An individual was seriously injured after being struck by the unmanned aircraft. The UAS was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 agricultural flight.
The remote pilot reported that the unmanned aircraft was landing at the previously designated GPS coordinates. The aircraft had reached the landing spot and descent height. However, when it was about one foot above the ground, the aircraft went sideways about 30 feet and struck an individual assisting with the operation. That individual sustained a broken shoulder.
The unmanned aircraft sustained damage to one rotor blade and to the onboard radar assembly; both were replaced. At the present time, operation logs associated with the accident flight are not available due to a data loss event unrelated to the aircraft. Efforts to recover the accident data files are on-going.
The remote pilot stated that, as an additional safety measure, physical barriers will be utilized during takeoff and landing in an effort to minimize hazards.
Accident Number: CEN24LA313
Location: Dyess, AR
Date: August 9, 2024
Aircraft: GRUMMAN G164
Injuries: None
On August 9, 2024, about 1600 central daylight time, a Grumman G-164A was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Dyess, Arkansas. The pilot was seriously injured. The flight operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 as an aerial application flight.
The pilot stated that when he departed the strip, the engine was performing normally. About ½ mile from the grass strip, the airplane had climbed to 120 ft above ground level, when the pilot could no longer climb or maintain level flight. The pilot maneuvered the airplane below power lines and the airplane’s landing gear contacted a rice field. The airplane settled into the rice and abruptly nosed over which resulted in substantial damage to the fuselage and wings. The airplane was retained for further examination.
Accident Number: CEN24FA325
Location: Newton, TX
Date: August 23, 2024
Aircraft: ARROW FALCON EXPORTERS INC OH-58A+
Injuries: 1 Fatal, 1 Minor
On August 23, 2024, about 1330 central daylight time, a restricted category Arrow Falcon Exporters OH-58A helicopter was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Newton, Texas. The pilot was fatally injured and one person on the ground received minor injuries. The helicopter was operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 as an aerial application flight.
According to the load truck operator, the helicopter was landing on a load truck platform to reload liquid chemical herbicide at the time of the accident. The pilot landed uneventfully on the load truck platform about 20 times for reloading on the day of the accident. The load truck operator stated that on the accident landing attempt, the helicopter landed too far forward on the load truck platform and against the L-bracket stop rail. The helicopter rolled off the back of the truck and impacted the ground inverted. The load truck operator stated that the right skid touched down, but the left skid may not have ever touched the platform. The load truck operator was knocked off the back of the truck and received minor injuries. He reported that the helicopter’s engine sounded normal throughout the accident sequence.
The helicopter was equipped with single point connections on the right side for reloading fuel and liquid product. The platform was oriented to allow the helicopter to land with its right side toward the aft end of the truck to allow the load truck operator to reach the single-point reloading connections (Figure 1). The reloading was conducted while the helicopter engine
was running. This type of operation is commonly referred to as hot-loading. The load truck operator reported that sometimes the pilot would land in a position that was out of his reach to connect the hoses and the pilot would have to reposition the helicopter on the platform.
An onsite examination of the helicopter revealed substantial damage to the helicopter's main rotors, tailboom, tail rotor driveshaft and fuselage. Flight control continuity from the cyclic and collective to the main rotor swash plate was confirmed with no anomalies found. The tail rotor had continuity from the anti-torque pedals to the aft cabin bellcrank. The bellcrank assembly was separated from its fuselage attach point. The flight control tube to the tail rotor was fractured in multiple areas consistent with impact damage to the tailcone and overload. The tail rotor blades remained attached to the tail rotor hub and moved freely when rotated by hand. The tail rotor driveshaft was fractured in multiple places consistent with overload but was turned by hand from the engine to the tail rotor with no anomalies noted. Examination of the right skid revealed horizontal scratching consistent with contact with the load truck Lbrackets (Figure 2).
An examination of the engine revealed rotational scoring and torsional bending consistent with power production at the time of impact. The internal rotating components of the turbine engine rotated freely by hand. No anomalies were observed with the engine that would have precluded its normal operation.
The end of the load truck platform had L-brackets that acted as a physical stop. The brackets extended about 1.5 inches above the platform (Figure 3). The L-brackets had paint transfer consistent with the landing gear skid.

Mabry I. Anderson | An Insider’s History of Agricultural Aviation
Chapter Two: The Equipment & People (cont.)
Reaching the proper age, George Sanders enlisted for a hitch in the service, winding up with the paratroopers for four years. Upon discharge, he returned home to concentrate his talents on "crop-dusting engineering," reflecting his early interest in aircraft. Sanders obtained a B.S. degree in agricultural engineering and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from Ohio State and began working immediately for the University.
Under the program developed by Henry and Sanders, elaborate swath-measuring systems were developed, wind tunnel studies were conducted, and airflow-measuring devices were designed and constructed. Positive-displacement metering devices were built and used in controlling the flow of materials into hopper throats. Literally hundreds of tests were flown.
Ingenious measuring and weighing devices were built and used for the first time, giving an accurate and truly scientific evaluation of what happened to the material upon release. Portable collection trays were designed and built that could be easily moved to take advantage of factors like wind shifts. Data began to emerge that could be successfully used to develop better dispensing equipment for both solids and liquids.
Prior to these experiments, most spreaders or venturis were of the original, unvaned design. But innovations were now appearing, with vanes, true airfoil construction, and other changes that made the product superior to anything yet produced.
As all good duster pilots know, a competent pilot can make his material "fit the field." But Sanders and Henry turned this thinking around by showing what could be achieved with a few changes in design and technique.
Two very interesting and informative bulletins emerged from these Ohio State studies: Bulletin No. 906 by James E. Henry titled Distributors for Applying Dry Materials by Airplane and Bulletin No. 727 by George Sanders titled Equipment and Procedures for the Measurement of Deposits of Aerially Applied Materials. The work outlined in these bulletins had a far-reaching effect on the entire industry, especially in the manufacture of dispersal equipment for both solids and liquids.
George Sanders later worked as a research engineer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as a research engineer for Hiller Aircraft, and as president of Agricultural Aviation Engineering Company in Santa Clara, California. His time was devoted primarily to the design

and construction of spray and dust system components for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. He designed and built the first spray system for the Hiller UH-12E helicopter and is credited with numerous other "firsts" for fixed-wing craft, especially in the liquid field.
One interesting facet of Sanders' career was a scientific study of spray deposits for one of the world's largest banana plantations in Central America. J.B. "Doc" Alder operated an extensive aircraft service in this region, and the fruit growers were working their way into disease-protection sprays on huge banana acreages.
Sanders was called in to set up and operate a long-term study of oil spray deposits. From this study, adequate control of certain fungus diseases became possible. As a result of this work, Sanders eventually operated his own agricultural aircraft in Central America and held his own Operator's Certificate No. WE-27 AG.
George Sanders is still best known for his ownership and operation of Agrinautics in Las Vegas, where he settled in 1962 and is still going strong. His firm has been responsible for the design and manufacture of perhaps the most modern dispensing equipment yet designed for aircraft. Lately, Sanders' interest has turned to computers, and he is now supplying the agricultural aviationnow supplying the agricultural aviation

During the years, Sanders has been highly visible and a strong supporter of the state and national associations. He has received virtually all of the honors offered by those associations and has contributed immeasurably to their growth and success.
At Mississippi State University, agricultural aviation research was carried on sporadically from the late 1920s through the 1930s. Researchers were concerned almost exclusively with the effectiveness of certain applications in the control of insects.
A working arrangement existed between Mississippi State and Texas A & M. The well-known Gaines in Texas helped supply data on aircraft insect control to Mississippi State on an exchange basis for information useful to Texas A & M. Consequently, no appreciable aircraft research developed until immediately after World War II.
An arrangement has been in effect for many years between Mississippi State University and USDA's Experiment Station at Stoneville. Directly after the War, this station was headed by William L. Giles, who later became president of Mississippi State University. The Entomology Department was run by E.W. Dunham and S.L. Calhoun. All were visionary men, with Dunham and Calhoun outstanding insect control specialists.
Learning of the success of Delta operators using liquid spray systems made by Mississippi Valley Aircraft Service in 1947 and 1948, Dunham and Calhoun "conscripted" aircraft and pilots from all over the state and began season-long experiments during the 1948 growing season. Rather remarkable results were obtained.
Both 1948 and 1949 were years of unusually heavy boll weevil infestation. Conventional cotton dusts disappeared from the marketplace quickly and both farmers and flying firms were forced into using sprays. Applications of toxaphene with DDT were made on a tremendous scale throughout the South and results were so obviously superior that crop "dusting" was virtually doomed. Policy- making agencies at Mississippi State adopted recommendations officially approving sprays, a move that was followed almost immediately by neighboring states.
At the same time, experiments were also conducted with dry defoliants, specifically Aero Cyanamid Special Grade, commonly known as "Black Annie." It was determined that applications from higher altitudes were superior to those made by rolling the wheels in the cotton and the Extension Department officially recommended applications from 12 to 20 feet above the crop!
It was also discovered that Cyanamid applications were considerably more effective when applied in late afternoon, rather than in the
morning when the crop was dew-drenched. Streaking was avoided when the plants were dry and penetration was noticeably better.
More extensive and more scientific aircraft and equipment evaluation came about at Mississippi State in the 1950s, when August "Gus" Raspet took charge of the school's aviation curricula. Raspet, a pilot, was an authentic genius. He was ably assisted by Michael "Mike" Smith, a zealous young aeronautical and mechanical engineer of great talent, and by Joe Cornish, an equally talented engineer. Mississippi State was already widely recognized in the field of glider aircraft and some of its student pilots held world glider flight records. A fine airport with shops and hangar was devoted to aviation and here Raspet, Smith, and Cornish set up a continuing program of aircraft and dispensing equipment development and evaluation.
Thousands of man-hours went into experiments with wing airfoil design and wing loading. Raspet, Smith, and Cornish developed a theory known as "boundary-layer" control, where thousands of pin holes were punched into lift surfaces, reshaping airflow and making possible departures from the norm in airfoil construction. These studies had a very strong bearing on the future development of modem agricultural aircraft.
The Mississippi State program became so well-known and recognized that operators and aircraft manufacturers voluntarily contributed planes and equipment to the school for study and use in its programs. Callaire in Afton, Wyoming, was one of the first major manufacturers to contribute an aircraft to the school – an A-9.
During the years that this program was in operation, a unique relationship developed between agricultural flying people and University officials. Giles felt that no problem was too small for University participation. Operators could bring in their aircraft or equipment for special study almost without prior notice and be assured that Gus Raspet, Mike Smith, or Joe Cornish would set to work and help solve almost any ag flying problem.
Great strides were made by operators and equipment manufacturers during the period of time when this program flourished. Both Giles and Raspet were singularly honored by the Mississippi Agricultural Aviation Association with honorary lifetime memberships, the highest award given by the association.
Tragically, Gus Raspet was killed in a plane crash at the border of his own airport. The plane in which he was flying apparently stalled out in a turn as he approached the field and he was killed instantly in the ensuing crash. Mississippi State University and the agricultural flying industry had lost one of their most useful friends.

10th Year for Ag Aviation Golf Tournament a Success!
The 10th Annual Ag Aviation Golf Tournament was a great success this year at the Red Apple in Heber Springs, AR!
65 golfers competed, and over 95 attended the dinner.
Friday night, there was a wonderful reception at the home of Mark and Lucy Smith of Eden Isle, Arkansas. Doug and Amy Gibson provided beef tenderloin, along with other
meats and condiments. The golf committee provided other delicious food items.
This year, a donation will made to the Scott Rainey Scholarship and the William Austin Scholarship at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.
The attendees had a lot of laughs and conversations, enjoyed the gorgeous weather, and played golf on a beautiful course.
Next year's tournament will be held on the 3rd weekend of October, 2025.
The World Belongs To The Brave
You know, history is not written by those who play it safe but by those who dare to go further.
When you read this text under the glow of a light bulb, think of Thomas Edison—a daring inventor whose relentless spirit led to over a thousand patents, with the light bulb being just one of his groundbreaking creations.
Consider your car parked outside. It’s a testament to Henry Ford’s courage, who didn’t just create the Ford T; he transformed transportation forever through his innovative assembly line, making automobiles accessible to all.
And what about the iPhone in your pocket? That too is a result of boldness — thanks to Steve Jobs’ visionary leadership and willingness to challenge norms, he turned trends into revolutionary products that changed our lives.
There's an old saying in Brazil - “rockets can't move backwards” but Elon Musk even defied physics itself when his Starship returned backwards precisely to its launch site—an act that many thought impossible. This daring spirit defines innovators and pioneers throughout history.
Boldness that Transforms
At Travicar, we embody this boldness that transforms dreams into reality. It all began in 1970 when a father and his two sons dared to dream big in a workshop in southern Brazil. They
started repairing engines but aspired for more: revolutionizing agriculture through pioneering aviation technology.
The boldness didn't stop there. The founder's grandchildren took over the business with the same passion for innovation. They have preserved the family legacy and have expanded the company. They have developed technologies that make life easier in the field, generate profit and prosperity for farm operators.
Now, as we expand Travicar into new territories like the United States, we are eager to collaborate with distributors and operators who share our vision of excellence. Our family legacy has thrived on bold partnerships back home in Brazil, and we believe that together we can replicate these successes here.
So I ask you: How Much Money Are You Leaving on the Table?
The time for daring action is now.
Let’s connect and explore how we can shape an innovative future together!
Have you ever thought about the daredevils of innovation—Edison, Ford, Jobs, and Musk? They all shared a remarkable ability to identify everyday pains and develop solutions. For Edison, it was illuminating the darkness; for Ford, it was reducing high production costs; for Jobs, it was enhancing practicality; and for Musk, it was creating rockets that could reverse.
(Continued on page 82)
Now, I Ask You: Do You Know the Pains Within Your Business and Those of Your Customers?
Common challenges include:
• High operating costs. Equipment with a short lifespan.
• Lack of monitoring and quality control. Difficulty integrating technology.
• Unqualified technical support.
Imagine what your business could achieve if you had access to technologies specifically designed to address each of these issues. What has brought you this far may not be enough to propel you into the next level. To go further, boldness is essential.
The real turning point for your business is having access to the best technology available on the market — and that’s where Travicar comes in.
Why Travicar?
Travicar products are not just equipment; they are transformative technological solutions. Here’s what we offer:
• Efficiency and durability: Our aerial spray nozzles are crafted from advanced materials like Nylon and Kynar and have
been rigorously tested in wind tunnel conditions at College Station, Texas. They ensure optimum droplet formation while minimizing drift—even in extreme conditions.
• Unprecedented precision: Our DGPS technology records flight variables with an accuracy of 0.2 seconds. This level of precision allows for immediate identification of failures while simultaneously revealing opportunities for improvement—bringing a new dimension of control and efficiency to aerial spraying.
• Electrostatic Precision for Exceptional Results: When it comes to efficient and sustainable crop protection, Travicar SPE+ electrostatic spray nozzles redefine the standard. Our electrostatic charging system transforms each drop into a high-precision tool, ensuring that the product reaches exactly where it is needed, with greater adherence and less waste. This results in a more economical operation that reduces environmental impact, preserves adjacent areas and protects local fauna and flora.
In case it's not obvious, the real power here (and the point of this article) comes is in using cutting-edge technology to eliminate inefficiencies and significantly boost productivity.
In today’s competitive landscape, there's no more room for leaving money on the table. By embracing innovative tools and strategies, you can streamline your operations and maximize your resources, ultimately leading to greater profitability.
Partnership Opportunity: Let's Dare Together
At Travicar, we believe in the transformative power of partnerships and we're looking for forward-thinking agricultural equipment dealers who want to offer their customers the very best in aerial spraying technology. By becoming a Travicar partner, you’ll gain:
• Access to a product portfolio with proven market performance.
• Qualified local technical support.
• Fast delivery, without customs barriers.
• With 54 years of experience and leadership in this industry, we are committed to ensuring your success.
Just think about it — great innovators like Edison, Ford, Jobs, and Musk didn't achieve their milestones alone.
No one reaches success by going solo.
The best time to join those who dare was yesterday; the secondbest time is now. Together, we can revolutionize agricultural
operations, increase productivity, and create more value for our customers and partners.
History Will Always Belong to Those Who Push Boundaries
The world doesn't stand still, and neither should you. Travicar knows that you have plenty of daring. And that's why, to help you go further, we've been innovating since 1970.
Now we're closer than ever. Contact our local representative to learn how our products can elevate your business.
Because the world belongs to those who dare. And the future belongs to those who decide to go further.
We invite you to visit www.travicar-us.com and join us on this journey of innovation and success.
