Creative Strategy

The purpose of this campaigns to reach out to neighborhoods and community leaders in a fun artistic way that captures attention and creates awareness of the mission of Preservation Chicago. Through a series of events and promotions we will be able to connect with the college aged adults up to the senior level market. We have organized a weekend of events available to the public at different locations throughout Chicago. This will give us an opportunity to interact with volunteers, community members, and the general public and to allow them to know what Preservation Chicago is all about.

Promotional Strategy Objective: To have projections on the side of four different buildings; The Tribune, The Former Prentice Women’s Hospital, Chicago’s Theological Seminary, and a projection in Millennium Park.

Goal: To present the different aspects of our organization, what we strive for, and also what we are working to fight for.

How: Presenting visuals through sight (seeing a demolition), and sound (hearing the demolition/ construction of new building), and also emotion (showing the people of Chicago that this does in fact affect them directly, and with their help, they could save a beautiful piece of history)

Projections

First Projection: Demolition •Two of the locations will have a projection of demolition. A video of a building being destroyed will play during the projection. •After the video is played, Preservation Chicago comes on the screen, with the tagline “Chicago’s History is Your History,” and the website. •The reason why a building being demolished was chosen is because it raises many issues, some of them being; health risks including espestice and led, as well as environmental costs and risks.

Second Projection: Construction •The other two projections will show a video at repeat of a construction site in a large city. The sounds of drills and workers will flood the street as people pass the building. •Loud noises will remind people of how horrible construction can be at times. •The projection will stop every so often to say out tagline and follow with the Preservation Chicago email.

Radio Spot Craftsmanship. that's something we don't get enough of now a days. Craftsmanship is when skill and passion work side by side.

It is art. It is heart. It is soul.

Preservation Chicago is an organization centered on saving historic Chicago buildings. Chicago landmarks that are as much part of this city's history as the Columbian exposition, or the Great Chicago fire. This city is unique because of our buildings and what they stand for.

We have successfully joined together as a community to prevent the destruction of landmarks from possibly being replaced by another commercial build. And we have proven that ordinary people can produce an extraordinary voice.
