FIRMS POTENTIALLY WASTING £1,000S ON LIFT TRUCK TRAINING

M

any businesses that outsource their lift truck training could save thousands of pounds and improve efficiency by training in-house and achieving their own inhouse accreditation. RTITB is offering a free of charge cost analysis to help businesses make the right choice. “Many firms keep outsourcing their lift truck training without stopping to consider if it is right for them,” says Laura Nelson, Managing Director, RTITB, the preferred regulatory body for workplace transport training. “Quite often outsourced training is an exercise to tick a compliance box and can be considered to be the cheaper and easier solution. This is often not the case as the cost of courses, travel, certification, internal administration and the days of wasted training soon mounts up.” For businesses such as 3PLs, hauliers, food and drink distributors and wholesalers, supermarkets and any type of warehouse operation, in-house accredited training can save valuable time and money. “For example, when outsourcing, the first two stages of lift truck training are often separated, with five days of Basic Training followed by one or two days of Specific Job Training,” says Laura. “When carried out in-house, the two can be combined in a simple five-day programme, reducing lost-man hours.” An analysis will often show that accredited in-house training is not only cheaper, but that it provides a return on investment and comes with numerous benefits including consistency, better control for the business, compliance and the use of engaging, businessspecific RTITB training materials. 4

“We focus on providing resources that help businesses to measurably improve safety, reduce risk and increase efficiency, which also increases profit margins,” she says. “To support different operations, businesses can obtain customised course materials from RTITB for varied operations, from chilled and frozen goods handling, to high value consumer goods, to loading and unloading barrels and kegs.” Howdens Joinery is one example of a business that wanted to standardise material handling equipment (MHE) training for 830 lift truck operators across four of its sites to improve security, safety, compliance and enable effective auditing. All eight inhouse instructors are trained to RTITB standards and approved to deliver accredited training. Another example is British paper mill, James Cropper, that has been RTITB accredited since 1985. With all its staff trained to the RTITB standard, the company not only adheres to PUWER, ACOP and HSE L117 requirements, but has also experienced reduced costs and increased margins. The accredited RTITB training results in a high standard of driving that helps to minimise potential accident related insurance claims or lawsuits, as well as damage. On a day-to-day basis, inhouse training teams can intervene immediately to address any operational problems, helping to improve efficiency and safety and reduce the risk of incident or damage to stock, lift trucks, pallet and infrastructure, positively impacting the bottom line. In the event of an incident, how would you go about demonstrating and proving compliance if your

training provider had closed down and therefore couldn’t provide you with the necessary paperwork? What if they had said they were accredited but in reality, they weren’t? Or worse still, they were accredited by a body who didn’t have thorough quality assurance in place? RTITB accreditation gives businesses access to a completely paperless training and testing app that allows users to export PDFs and CSV files straight into a company’s own Learning Management System (LMS) and access records and documentation at any time that could otherwise have been permanently lost. To ensure instructors are qualified to carry out the training required for operators on site, RTITB offers training and examination of on-site instructors to its high standards, supporting safety and efficiency, as well as compliance. RTITB is offering a specific cost analysis, free of charge. To find out more about accredited in-house training from RTITB, visit www.rtitb. co.uk or call +44(0)1952 520207.

RONNIE S EVANS SIGNS 56-STRONG TRAILER FLEET UP TO MICHELIN EFFITRAILER PROGRAMME

F

amily-owned haulier Ronnie S Evans has signed its entire fleet of trailers up to Michelin’s Effitrailer programme, after a successful eight-month trial projected savings of £45,000. After being fitted to an initial 15 assets, Michelin’s dedicated trailer telematics system showed its worth by alerting the haulier to 45 cases of low tyre pressure – preventing potential puncture costs of up to £1,000 a time. Carmarthenshire-based Ronnie S Evans will now get the system fitted to its remaining 41 trailers on a three-year contract. Company director Sion Evans says: “We recently had a driver collect a load and just 20 minutes Ad (134x178)_Layout 1 intoSize theReduction journey (2016) I received an alert

to say one of the tyre’s pressure had dropped to a critical level. After contacting the driver, he found a piece of metal lodged in it. “He managed to get the vehicle safely to the nearest tyre dealer and got it repaired straight away, which also saved on the cost of a roadside call out and the unnecessary downtime this would have brought – all thanks to Effitrailer. “The nature of our work sees part of the fleet going into scrap metal yards every day, so we’re operating in an environment where there is a higher risk of punctures. The Michelin system will transform our operations and allow us to be more proactive when it comes to potential tyre and brake issues.” 27/09/2016 11:53 Page 1 Ronnie S Evans will have access

to the system’s on-board datalink, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic braking system data analysis and constant geolocation. The technology also details each trailer’s mileage, the length of any periods of abnormal downtime, the ‘unhooked’ or ‘towed’ status of the asset, and whether the trailer is overloaded. Michelin Effitrailer can be installed on all trailers equipped with EBS, regardless of age or manufacturer, and is available regardless of current or future tyre policy. http://trucks.michelin.co.uk/

POOR LOAD HANDLING AND LOADING TECHNIQUES CAN BE COSTLY The risk of a delivery van’s floor suffering significant and costly damage during the loading process can be eliminated with the JCB Teletruk, says Paul Murray, JCB’s Teletruk general manager

A

ccording to a recent report by the Urban Transport Group, some 3.8 million vans (goods vehicles below 3.5 tonnes in weight including their cargo) are now registered in the UK. This figure reflects an increase of 74 per cent since 1996 – with vans now representing 15 per cent of all motor vehicle traffic. A number of factors are thought to be driving this growth, including the ever-upward spiral of the online shopping market and the resultant need to deliver internet shoppers’ orders – particularly to those consumers living in the most densely populated conurbations. For any logistics company, running a van fleet can be a costly exercise. Tax, fuel, maintenance and insurance, all add up to significant expenditure for any company, large or small, so its important that businesses do whatever they can to minimise these costs. Clearly the aim of any fleet manager is to ensure that vehicles are off the road for the shortest period of time possible and, to this end, ongoing maintenance regimes and driver training programmes both play a key role in cutting the amount of time that vans are out-of-action. However, perhaps surprisingly, one of the most common causes of lost van ‘up time’ is not an engine fault deriving from poor maintenance or damage resulting from reckless driving: it is bodywork damage inflicted by poor load handling and loading techniques. In simple terms, when it comes to van loading it is common practice for a small counterbalanced truck or pallet truck to be used to lift a palletized load into the back of a vehicle. The pallet is then often ‘slid’ into the van’s storage space either manually or using the forks of the lift truck. But, as many fleet operators have found to their cost, there is a significant likelihood that a wooden pallet (with the inevitable protruding metal fixings) that is slid into the back of a van will often rip into the vehicle’s flooring – causing significant damage that is both costly and time consuming to repair. But more and more logistics operators and courier firms are eliminating this problem by introducing JCB’s Teletruk technology to their operations. Thanks to its unique telescopic mast design, which gives a forward reach of 2.4 metres, the Teletruk can deliver a pallet to the far end of a delivery vehicle without touching the floor, until the pallet is gently lowered in to position. In this way, the Teletruk greatly reduces the risk of load and

vehicle damage and, of course, eliminates the risk of injury associated with manually handling loads in to vehicles. With today’s technology-enabled consumers demanding that their online orders arrive within hours of clicking the ‘buy now’ button, there will be no let up in the rise in the number of journeys delivery vans are required to make. So fleet managers are likely to find themselves under grater pressure than ever to keep their vans on the road and eliminating unnecessary damage during the loading process should be part of their planning. www.jcb.com

Magnet was mounted across a conveyor to lift and remove ferrous metals from shredded plastic. On a virgin plastic process, Drawer Filter Magnets removed millimetre sized ferrous metals from beads before a Free-Fall Metal Detector identified and ejected non-ferrous metal contaminants. In another project, Renmar installed a meTRON 05 Underbelt Metal Detector to detect needles in plastic sheet produced from shredded recycled materials. Activity in plastics recycling has increased significantly for Renmar since 2017. Due to the nature of the secondary material, there is often a higher proportion of contamination including metal. There is also a drive towards producing smallersized, higher-quality granulated plastics from waste. This raises the value of the product, but increases the possibility of equipment damage due to metal contamination. The selection and installation of the optimum design of metal separator is critical to the successful operation of the recycling plant. Kevin Horne, Director of Renmar, saw an opportunity to forge a closer relationship with Bunting in order to provide their

clients with the most up-to-date and technically advanced metal separation solutions. Bunting engineers are readily available to discuss issues and visit site. The Renmar team is a wellknown within the plastic industry and renamed as Renmar Plastic Machinery in 2017. Renmar and Bunting are both members of The British Plastics Federation, promoting best practice in the industry. www.buntingeurope.com

Posi-flate will be exhibiting a heavy duty inflatable seated butterfly valve operating next to a typical resilient seated valve at the upcoming Powtech Show in September to demonstrate how quickly a resilient seated valve can wear in comparison to the air operated Posiflate valve. The inflatable seat design provides a better seal by utilizing air pressure to expand the seat against the disc, providing more sealing area and an even pressure distribution against the disc every time. The

seat automatically compensates for wear when it inflates against the disc, extending valve life considerably. The Posi-flate Series 585/586 inflatable seated butterfly valve is designed for the most the most severe of applications. The heavy duty seat has been designed for higher operating pressures and temperatures. The Posi-flate valve is ideally suited for very abrasive materials such as sand, feldspar, fly ash and most other dry, granular materials, which reduce valve life. POWTECH 2019 PREVIEW

AUTOMATICALLY CLEANABLE MAGNETIC SEPARATOR FOR POWDERS AND GRANULATES At Powtech in Nürnberg (Stand 1-416) Goudsmit Magnetics of Waalre will introduce an automatically cleanable ‘Easy Clean’ magnetic separator. This is used to remove metal particles (>30 ?m) from powders in the food, chemical, ceramic, plastics and other industries. The Easy Cleanflow magnet is notable for its high magnetic flux density of over 12,000 gauss on the bars that come into direct contact with the product, as well as a deeply penetrating magnetic field that effectively makes powders and granulates iron-free at high flow rates. The magnet is dustproof to an overpressure of 1.5 bar and includes a simple controller. The user-friendly cleaning requires 6 bar air and a 24 VDC start signal. The captured ferrous particles land in a collection tray. HIGHER SEPARATION YIELD The modified design consists of a single row of thick Ø50 mm bars instead of the two layers of thin Ø25 mm bars that were used previously. New measurement techniques, including simulations of magnetic fields and tests, have shown that this results in a higher separation yield. The thicker bars have a higher flux density and a deeper holding field, and remain in contact with the magnetic particles longer. An additional benefit is the reduced height of the magnet as a whole, which means it requires less installation height. Moreover, a single row of bars results in improved product flow, which is particularly beneficial when it comes to poorly flowing powders. CLEANING The pneumatic magnetic bars simplify the cleaning process. The magnetic bars are slid out along a guide and, once outside the housing, the magnetic bars are exposed by blowing them out of the tubes. A plate then retains the captured metal particles, after which they fall into a collection tray. The Easy Cleanflow magnet, with its enormous magnetic holding power of 12,000 gauss at the bars, is also perfectly suited for the separation of small, weakly magnetic stainless steel particles.

14

Bulk Solids Today

Tests and measurements have also shown that magnetic holding power alone is not enough to separate stainless steel particles. It is also of critical importance that these particles come into contact with the bars as they flow past. Optionally available deflectors can effectively guide the product flows containing weakly magnetic particles along the bars so the product always contacts the bars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lWq3pcOIF4 www.goudsmitmagnets.com

POWTECH 2019 PREVIEW

REMBE AT POWTECH 2019 THESE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS ACCREDITATION OF THE REMBE RESEARCH + TECHNOLOGY CENTER AS AN INDEPENDENT TESTING LABORATORY The REMBE live demonstrations have been an integral part of the POWTECH for many years. The same applies to the key player Roland Bunse - an established figure in the world of Explosion Safety since the 1990s, who has been at REMBE just as long, and has been head of the REMBE Research + Technology Center GmbH for 2 years. With the accreditation as a testing laboratory according to DIN EN ISO 17025 the team around Roland Bunse the independence and professionalism appreciated by many customers was once again confirmed. In addition to the REMBE Research + Technology Center, REMBE GmbH Safety + Control will of course also be represented at POWTECH, but no longer in Hall 4 as before, but rather in the “new Hall 5. At the booth 5-410, REMBE engineers will be presenting a new non-return valve and the Q-Ball E flameless venting device especially designed for elevator in addition to other selected products. Q-FLAP RX NON-RETURN VALVE The new Q-Flap RX non-return valve is a joint development between REMBE and the Swiss company RICO. The Q-Flap RX is available up to DN 1250. The strict requirements of EN 16447 are mainly achieved through the very high strengths and flexible installation distances. This is made possible by the socalled swivel carriage principle. Isolation is essential for an effective Explosion Safety. No matter how much operators invest into (flameless) venting, if an isolation is missing the explosion can spread within the system and continue to propagate from one facility part to another. FLAMELESS PRESSURE RELIEF FOR ELEVATORS: Q-BALL E The Q-Ball E, which is primarily designed for elevators, uses the principle of the contour-parallel relief developed by REMBE. Thanks to the innovative design, the weight of the Q-Ball is very low. While comparable products from other suppliers weigh between 100200 kg, the Q-Ball is an absolute lightweight with just 25-50 kg. This particularly facilitates the handling

during assembly, as well as the requirements for an installation on the systems in the truest sense of the word. REMBE PROCESS SAFETY AND REMBE KERSTING GMBH At POWTECH 2019, the REMBE Process Safety business unit will also be presenting various new products, including a non-invasive signalling system and a newly developed graphite rupture disc. In addition to the REMBE GmbH Safety + Control with the business units Explosion Safety and Process Safety, as well as REMBE Research + Technology GmbH, REMBE Kersting GmbH will also participate at the POWTECH. A new, fully automatic sampling system will be presented, that is able to depict the entire process chain from the sample extraction in one part of the plant all the way up to the laboratory. In addition to inline sampling, REMBE Kersting offers its customers products for flow measurements, and the silo weighing of bulk materials worldwide. You will find the REMBE Alliance companies in Hall 5, at Booths 5-407, 5-408, 5-409 and 5-410. www.rembe.com Bulk Solids Today

DUST-TIGHT DRUM TIPPER FOR DIFFICULT MATERIALS

The benchmark for accuracy in difficult conditions and terrains

F

lexicon have introduced a TIP-TITEÂŽ drum tipper that is designed for use with poorly-flowing or agglomerated materials, allowing rapid transfer of free- and non-freeflowing bulk solid materials dust-free. Similar in performance to open chute tippers but with total dust containment, the outlet on the downstream end of the tipper is nearly equal in area to that of the drum opening, allowing agglomerated materials and large chunks to be discharged with minimal possibility of material bridging. Drums from 114 to 208 litres are positioned on the tipper platform, which is raised by a hydraulic cylinder, seating the rim against the circular end of the discharge transition. A second hydraulic cylinder tips the platform-hood assembly and drum, stopping at dump angles of 45, 60 or 90 degrees with a motion-dampening feature. At full rotation, the transition outlet mates with the gasketed square inlet on the lid of a hopper or downstream process equipment, allowing a pneumaticallyactuated slide gate valve to be opened and closed for total or partial discharge with no dusting. The stainless steel transition can be supplied with a square or rectangular outlet as shown, as well as with circular outlets, with corresponding gasketed flanges for installation on downstream hoppers and receiving vessels. Non-product-contact materials of construction can be specified in carbon steel with durable industrial finishes, or stainless steel finished to industrial or sanitary standards. Other models are available for dumping of boxes, bins, pails and other containers. The company also manufacture manual bag dump stations, bulk bag dischargers, bulk bag conditioners, bulk bag fillers, drum fillers, flexible screw conveyors, tubular cable conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems, weigh batching and blending systems, and engineered plant-wide bulk handling systems with automated controls. SANITARY LUMP BREAKER HAS DUAL DRIVES, SIDE REMOVAL SCREENS A new DeClumper™ lump breaker model RDC-3030-SS from Munson Machinery reduces agglomerates and compacted materials to original particle sizes.

A

t 279 mm high, it fits in restricted spaces between bulk storage, handling, processing and packaging equipment. With optional feed hoppers and support bases, it can also operate independently. Material entering the 762 mm square inlet is reduced in size by four rotors with three-point, single-piece breaking heads rotating with minimum clearance inside twin, curved, perforated bedscreens. On-size material exits through apertures in the bedscreens ranging from 25 mm diameter to 64 mm square. Unlike conventional units that must be unbolted from upstream and downstream equipment to access bedscreens, the unit is equipped with interlocked sideremoval bedscreens that can be removed without tools for cleaning, changing or inspection. Dual, independent 7.5 kW motors with gear reducer and chain and sprocket drives provide added capacity and redundancy, rotating the synchronized shafts at approximately 120 RPM to avoid heating the product. The unit is recommended for deagglomeration of

INGREDIENT BATCHING SYSTEMS PROVIDED WITH DUST COLLECTION AND PNEUMATIC CONVEYING SYSTEMS

S

terling Systems & Controls, Inc. is a manufacturer of custom micro, minor and bulk weighing and ingredient batching systems. Unlike others, Sterling Systems custom engineers these systems so the custom will get what he wants and needs, the way he wants it. Often times Sterling Systems deals with designing these material weighing and ingredient batching systems for handling very dusty, difficult to handle and hazardous materials. Dust containment and control is essential to protect customer personnel and equipment. Routinely custom designed, manufactured and provided in Sterling’s systems is a dust control and containment option. This incorporates a dust collector (usually a baghouse design), dust collector hoods over material ingredient bins and batch hopper(s) feeding apparatus, and ducting to the collector, which can be located inside or outside the customer facility. Dust collection hoods can be provided for each ingredient system bin or a traveling dust hood with flexible tube connections can be used. Transporting batches to the next step in the production process, typically to a mixer or blender, can be done in one of several ways including use of a conveying system, mechanical or pneumatic. Pneumatic systems, often vacuum systems, are often used when continuous feeding is desired or where the pneumatic method is most efficient and affordable. Information on the Ingredient Batching Systems using Dust Collection and Pneumatic Conveying is available from Sterling Systems & Controls. With more than forty-five (45) years of experience providing efficient solutions for material weighing, batching, process controls and automation, process

equipment, bulk bag unloading and loading systems, Sterling Systems & Controls’ designs utilize the latest technology to provide specialized data management, raw material management, and production data tracking. LEADING MANUFACTURER TO ELIMINATE UK WASTE TO LANDFILL WITH ICELANDIC REVALUATION THEORY

S

afer Surfacing, the UK’s leading manufacturer of recycled rubber chippings, has announced the launch of sister company Endurmeta - the first company to put the Icelandic model of ‘revaluation’ into practice in the UK to revalue waste destined for landfill. By excavating common single-use products for their valuable raw materials, the method is addressing the growing waste problem, while also benefiting business’ bottom line by turning waste to asset. Endurmeta is leading the ‘revalue’ revolution in the UK, designed to drive a behavioural change to recycling. The process sees discarded waste materials collected and put through an innovative recycling line, before being distributed for reuse to partners across the globe. The recycling model is already in action through Endurmeta’s manufacturing arm, Safer Surfacing. Established in 2012, family-run Safer Surfacing takes rubber found in discarded car tyres and remanufactures it through a shredding, granulation and separation process to make various size and colour rubber chipping products. These products are then sold on for use by leading landscapers and architects in installations to create safe, colourful, weatherproof surfaces in areas such as children’s playgrounds. Taking a circular approach, at the end of the product’s life – which typically lasts 10-15 years – Safer Surfacing then puts the material back into the recycling process to create a new product for use in equestrian arenas. Endurmeta’s recycling facility can also process upwards of five million traditional single-use coat hangers each week on a single shift basis. This process is already being adopted by leading UK retailers. The company is calling out for more companies to reconsider the value of their waste and the potentially useful raw materials every product holds before disregarding it. Tina Urmson, director at Endurmeta, explained: “The waste ethos in the UK has always been very linear. We take what we class as rubbish, throw it away and don’t think about it again, which is why we’re surrounded by stories about plastic polluting oceans or nonbiodegradable waste taking up space on landfill sites. “On the surface, statistics tell us that the UK is doing well when it comes to recycling, having increased efforts significantly in recent years. However, what’s actually

happening is the UK is simply exporting its waste problem. As a country, we are currently exporting six times more waste abroad than we were 15 years ago.” “In light of new legislation and the government’s recently launched Resources and Waste Strategy, large organisations now have a responsibility to embrace a circular approach and consider carefully the value of their products at the end of their lifecycle. This doesn’t mean simply recycling, we need to be thinking about the value we can give to that waste and work with the right partners to make it possible.” Einar Asgeirsson, director of Icelandic company, Sindraport, said: “With no option to put waste into the ground in Iceland, we have to think smart about how we recycle and come up with solutions that works for both organisations and the environment. “We have been implementing the ‘revalue’ model for 20 years now and in that time, we have successfully acquired 1000s of tonnes of otherwise discarded material to create entirely new high-value products from streams, such as the fishing industry and smelting plant wastes. “Endurmeta is ready to bring our model to life in the UK and we’re confident it’s the right time to make this vision a success. We are excited to see the ‘revalue’ revolution come to fruition in the UK.” www.endurmeta.com Bulk Solids Today

LEADING PLASTIC PALLET SUPPLIER PLEDGES TO RECYCLE ALL PLASTIC PALLETS AND BOXES Goplasticpallets.com – The Responsible Plastic Pallet Company – has pledged to recycle every plastic pallet and plastic box it supplies to customers.

T

his announcement comes in the wake of the huge amount of negative media coverage on singleuse plastics and the devastating impact it is having on our environment and marine life. Last October 250 major brands vowed to eliminate all single-use plastics from their operations and invest in new technology so all packaging could be recycled by 2025 – a move described by the United Nations as the most ambitious effort yet to fight plastic pollution.1 Now Goplasticpallets.com is proving that it is a step ahead of these major brands and leading the way in recycling plastic waste, by not only supplying the UK’s largest range of multi-use, recyclable plastic pallets and boxes, but also committing to ensure they are ethically recycled at the end of their long use. Jim Hardisty, Managing Director of Goplasticpallets. com, said: “Our promise is our word – we guarantee to take full responsibility for recycling each and every plastic pallet and box we supply to our customers. And, not only that, but we intend to make it as simple as possible for customers of all sizes to recycle their plastic pallets and boxes by offering both ‘drop of’ and ‘collection’ options. “Ultimately, our mission is to help businesses create more sustainable supply chains by providing them with long lasting, reusable plastic pallets and boxes, and ensuring they are responsibly recycled when customers no longer need them. “Each customer that purchases plastic pallets and boxes from us will receive a certificate – our recycling commitment – this reinforces the responsible 1.

22

“ attitude we have towards recycling our products. “As The Responsible Plastic Pallet Company, our ultimate goal is to be recognised as the most trusted supplier of long lasting, recyclable plastic pallets and boxes in the UK.” Last year the Environment Agency certified Goplasticpallets.com as Jim Hardisty, Managing Director an Accredited Exporter of of Goplasticpallets.com. plastic packaging waste. Just one year on, the company has set itself the ambitious target of recycling 350 tonnes of plastic waste from its customers’ used plastic pallets and boxes by the end of 2019. NEW RECYCLING TEST FACILITY Following an increase in the demand for material testing, Bunting Magnetics Europe has constructed a new recycling test facility at their Master Magnets manufacturing operation in Redditch. Initially, the facility will house two models of Stainless-Steel Magnetic Separator and an Eddy Current Separator.

“W

e are seeing an increase in the number of controlled material tests,” explained Adrian Coleman, Master Magnets’ General Manager. “The tests confirm the separation performance, enabling the recycling company to calculate the benefits. As material specifications tighten and separation performance becomes increasingly critical, the number of tests we undertake increase.” Bunting Magnetics is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of magnetic separators and metal detectors for the recycling, quarrying and mining industries. Their wide range of metal separation and detection equipment is manufactured at their Master Magnets facility in Redditch, just outside Birmingham, UK. There is a growing demand for material testing, especially on the Stainless-Steel Magnetic Separators. Many of the visitors to the Bunting and Master Magnets ‘Metal Separation Test Centre’ stands at the IFAT and RWM exhibitions expressed interest in the operating equipment on the stand. Following further discussions, companies requested to undertaken controlled tests to confirm the level of metal recovery. Subsequently, in January 2019, Bunting Magnetics received three separate orders for Stainless Steel Magnetic Separators. Two were following tests conducted at the Redditch facility. The new Recycling Test Facility covers an area of 122 square meters and was constructed in less than three months.

“Often, customers want to witness the tests,” said Adrian. “The new recycling test facility enables large groups of people to safely participate.” The new Recycling Test Facility expands Bunting and Master Magnets’ testing capabilities. One of the most extensive laboratories for high intensity magnetic separators for the mineral processing and ceramics industries in the world is already located at the Master Magnets plant. “Already, the new recycling test facility is in operation on a daily basis,” said Adrian. “Our aim is undertake tests for more companies. We can demonstrate what separation is possible and, hopefully, help in maximising the economic viability of many recycling projects.” www.buntingeurope.com.
