The Wild Orange spa is a warm and inviting, yet contemporary day spa for men and women. Desired amenities such as private men’s and women’s lounges, eucalyptus steam rooms and refreshments will enhance your spa experience.

The Wild Orange spa features over 6000 square feet of tranquil relaxation. We are the only spa in the lower mainland that has private men’s and women’s lounges, rain showers and steam rooms. Each of our guests are offered a warm waffle spa robe, sandals, and provided with a private locker for their belongings.
What is the most important rule you follow when it comes to customer service?
Our business is all about customer service from the moment a guest calls to schedule their treatment to when they leave. Every detail must be considered to ensure each visit is consistent and professional and that our guests leave feeling wonderful.
How has your business utilized social media to engage customers?
Facebook has been a very influential and fun way to engage and interact with our ‘fans’. We designed a contest when the spa’s facebook page first went live and within a few short weeks our fan base grew to over 2,000 people. When social media is used responsibly and respectfully it can be a very powerful and effective tool to create growth in a new or existing business. It has been a great way to stay in touch with our customers keeping them updated on spa news, treatments and product launches.
What do you attribute your business’ success to?
The spa has been in business over 9 years and, without a doubt, our amazing and dedicated staff are a huge component of this success. Most of our team has been with us since we opened in 2004. They really enjoy what they do and it shows. We’ve created a spa family and it makes coming to work a lot of fun for everyone.

Whether it be politicians, coaches, business professionals, teachers or just someone you felt makes a difference, we wanted to know their names. The readers have spoken. The following is a list of Abbotsford’s top 100 most influential people as chosen by you. The list is in no particular order.
D I A N E D E LV E S Pioneer Square, located on the corner of Gladys and Essendene, is one of Abbotsford’s most unique developments, and is the latest in a string of successful developments being built right now by Diane and her team at Quantum Properties. Construction is nearly complete on the 20,000 sq. ft., 3-storey commercial facility. Diane’s comprehensive real estate market knowledge and extensive industry experience guide the direction of Quantum Properties’ projects. Diane has also contributed many volunteer hours within the Appraisal Institute of Canada as both Chairperson of the F.V. Chapter and as a member of various association committees. Diane believes in spreading a positive message to the City of Abbotsford via Twitter and posts good news on a daily basis!
E D FA S T The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway was first elected to the House of Commons in 2006, and was re-elected in 2008 and 2011. He had previously served for two terms as an Abbotsford School Trustee and three terms as a member of Abbotsford City Council. Ed’s role as Abbotsford’s MP is still a top priority, despite his international travel schedule. His office deals with local issues, including immigration, visas and pension concerns. “One of the things I think Abbotsford residents probably should remember is that the work I do for Canada directly benefits Abbotsford, Fast said.” He thinks his constituents, for the most part, seem content with the work he is doing.
City of Abbotsford Manager George Murray has become deeply entrenched in operations since starting his position earlier this year. Murray intends to provide leadership to each department and let them do their designated work. He said he is one part of a team that relies on the exchange of information and expertise between employees. “You can look from the outside of an organization and think you understand how decisions were made . . . but you truly don’t understand until you get inside.” I’m an accountant, but I’d like to think I am going to spend just as much time working on systems, processes, governance and culture,” he said.

We have expanded into social media through Twitter (sunrise_ toyota) & Facebook (Sunrise Toyota Abbotsford) to allow us to interact with clients in new ways so that we can continue to enhance your every experience with Sunrise Toyota!
Tuesday, April 16th began like any other day. Sixty-two year old Ron was getting ready for his day. He was looking forward to sitting down in his easy chair to watch “Let’s Make a Deal”. At the other end of town eighty-two year old John was getting ready for his weekly volunteer service of delivering Meals on Wheels. Ron was one of his scheduled stops. But John didn’t get an answer at Ron’s condo which was strange. After explaining why he was there to another owner in the building, she let John in. Something was very wrong. John knew Ron lived alone and didn’t get out much. He was determined to get in there and check in on him. Ron had suffered a major stroke just before John arrived. He was lying on the floor in his bedroom unable to communicate. Thanks to the quick thinking of another resident in the building and John’s patience, emergency responders arrived and rushed Ron to the hospital. Had it not been for John’s persistence in getting that meal delivered, it is doubtful that Ron would still be alive today. So what is the value of Meals on Wheels? Priceless.

What attracted you to living and working in Abbotsford?

How has your business changed or adapted in recent years?
Our production has changed from primarily cut flowers to container grown flowers for spring (hanging baskets and bedding plants) and poinsettias for Christmas. We continue to try and add new varieties to our plant selection every year.
What is the most important rule you follow when it comes to customer service? We treat our customers as we want to be treated; with honesty, integrity and personal service and by providing them with the best quality plants.

Tip Top Floor and Home has proudly served Abbotsford, and surrounding areas, for the past 47 years. Started in 1966 by Roy Jacobson, Tip Top has built a large customer following providing great service and competitive pricing. The local family business continues to thrive.
• We are part of the largest flooring co-op in the world “Carpet One Floor & Home” but still locally owned and operated. • We are the only store that offers the “Beautiful Warranty”. Simply, if a customer does not like their new flooring for any reason, we will replace it including labour! • We offer no charge in-home estimates and no charge short-term loan of flooring samples • Chosen as Abbotsford’s favourite flooring store for 5 consecutive years.
How has your business changed or adapted in recent years? This industry just like many is constantly coming out with new products (greener) and technology and it’s our job to stay up-to-date on all new products so we ensure our customers get the best products & knowledge for every application. With the advent of box stores venturing into flooring, we are finding consumers have ‘been there done that’ and rely on us for our expertise and installation advantages.
What is your mission statement? Our goal is to remain as the valley’s most trusted reliable flooring store, offering the best service, up-to-date products and the ability to transform your space into a functional and beautiful environment.

Describe the way(s) your business has given back to the Abbotsford Community: When a local design firm drafted and constructed a large H.O.M.E.S Society build, they required our services to finish beautifully. With help from our Design Services team and our Contractor of Flooring sales and Correct installs, the results were beautiful but also safe. Upgrades were provided by Pro-Pack free of charge. Shelly and the Design Services team finished with quality furniture supply and staging to compliment the whole build.

We would like to think that being active in apiculture and education, has heightened awareness of others to the challenges to the honey bee, the most efficient pollinator. Without the honey bee, about 30% of the world food supply would be at risk. We are hopeful that people, who are working to reduce their carbon footprint, are also learning ways of living that will help protect the habitat of the honey bee.

Growing up here, I love the feeling of being in both the city and the country at the same time. Abbotsford still has a small town feel even though it continues to have awesome growth, and I love that. It is a beautiful setting to raise our family in and we appreciate the cultural diversity and the strong roots in the Sikh community.
What is your most important rule for customer service? Our primary goal is to meet our customers’ needs and always provide a solution that best fits their interests. We have a ‘think outside the box’ approach and provide solutions that other stores often cannot. We are also big on empowering our staff so they can make decisions on the spot instead of having to get in touch with management.
What does the future hold for your business? We hope to continue opening Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile locations throughout the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland to increase our footprint as a established dealer in the wireless industry. We also hope to continue giving back to our community as we have over the past few years.
How has your business given back to the Abbotsford community? Most of our charitable commitments have been geared towards children and youth. For the last 6 years we’ve been involved with the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) helping to raise funds for research aimed at children living with Type 1 Diabetes. We host an annual fundraiser in Abbotsford where we’re able to raise thousands of dollars for this cause and we are very proud of this event. Smart Wireless also sponsored 2 soccer teams this year through the Abbotsford United Soccer Club. We’ve been supporting the Kids Help Line for several years now which helps kids across Canada get access to anonymous and confidential professional counselling. This year we were able to also make a significant contribution to the Abbotsford Food Bank as well as the Fraser Valley Hindu Cultural Society. Smart Wireless is also planning to take part in this year’s Vasakhi celebrations.
