Form Evolution.

The basic form of the terminal building is created inbetween the two parallel runways. Both the runways are placed based on the wind direction from northeast - southwest direction.

The original form is then divided into three blocks. this type of terminal layout is called as pier or linear layout.two linear rectangular blocks are interconnected by the main terminal area.

The edges of these rectangular forms gets smoothen and curves are added. thus getting divided into two , the front side of the landside area is for the domestic and the one at the back is for the international passenger area.

Then this basic curvature form gets the complex roof structure, having, multiple roof openings. the roof structure is a combination of both space frame and lattice structures.

Form Evolution.

Original rectangular block as placed into the contoured slope of the site area.Inorder to keep the structure in place, cut and fill methodology is used here. Allowing the access and main entry to the site from the north and cantileverd structure on the southern part of the building.

The original box is then divided into three similar rectangular block.this rectangular block is created inorder to be placed at three different levels of the contour site. also creating visual aspects at each corresponding levels.

These are then subtracted at non necessary spaces and also this helps in creating freeflow of wind inside the building and for allowance of proper amount of sunlight within.

On top of this, the 1st floor level block is placed, with having adequate open spaces at the ground level.the roof of the building is sliced and sloped at a manner for protecting from harsh sun during the day time.

Form Evolution.

The basic form is developed from creating midpoints from each side of the site and linking those points.the main entry is given southern part of the site area as it connects with the main road widing about 30meters.

The block is then converted into three main building volumes namely admin block, main block and ug block.this three building is connected to each other as it to make the circulation easier as much as possble.the central part of the site is let open to create an open amphi-theatre.

These created volumes are then subtracted at respective spaces to create openings and connections.openings such as atrium and open theatre so as to create an interactive spaces within the students.

Secondary buildings are added such as hostel blocks ,canteen and auditorium.parking is provided near the auditorium.Hostel blocks are provided at the northen side of the site area as it has a scenic view of the nearby river.

The basic box is created by analysing the site surrounding context.the height and number of floors was calculated by using the dcr norms and standards.the given fsi was about 2.The entrance approach road is given at both sides of the site area, which connects with the main highway.

This Block is then divided into 2 different blocks. this is to create a shift within the block.the divided block is then given a gap so as to create an atrium of space and for the vertical circulation purpose.this is also used to create air flow within the inside of the building creating venturi effect.

The divide block is now subracted at places so as to create views and balconies.the subtracted floors are places alternaltively to create in and out kind of feel.entrance to each block is placed at both sides of the building.

Here the hexagonal panel is created using point attractors.Attractors are points that act like virtual magnets - either attracting or repelling other objects. In Grasshopper, any geometry referenced from Rhino or created withinGrasshopper can be used as an attractor. Attractors can influence any number of parameters of surrounding objects including scale, rotation, color, and position.
