path main path with axis going towards the view of the camel back. the meandering path is the route through the forest. dotted lines are the secondary path forest elements mature forest has a shadier area, with the younger forestry that is more sparse

forestry (outline green) and the wetlands (blue) is the shaded area, meadow (green) is the hot unshaded area

quarry axis the axis starts at the longest end of the quarry wall towards camel back that divides forestry and quarry wall area, with the garden on the top plateau

green is the flat plains of the quarry. the flat plateau on the top left has potential for a depth perception of quarry bed with long gradual slope in front

routes

the mature forest (dark green) is the more shaded area, with the younger forest (light green) is more sparsely shaded

colder areas of the quarry from forest shade and quarry wall (purple), and unshaded hot areas in the quarry (red)

main idea the garden and villa composition is put on the flat plateau to give the perception of depth of view towards the quarry bed from the garden. designing the garden to be surrounded by a regenerating forest will give the feeling of being in a man made space that is gradually enveloped by the natural growing forestry surrounding it. this process is similar to what has happened to the this abandoned quarry.

routing plan red is the main path for the visitors, starting through the mature forest from the restaurant to the visitor center. the path goes through the man made gardens on the plateau, which from the visitors center starts with a clearing enclosed hedge garden, semi clear orchard, and the formal garden towards quarry bed with the walled stairway framing the camel back landmark. the path then meanders through the sparse young forest, edge of the lake, and through a new regenerating forest on the “arm of the quarry, ending at the clearing of the quarry bed towards the camel back, with a view back up to the walled stairs on the garden axis which will be the start and end of the forest journey. the yellow path is the secondary path around the edges of the quarry from the existing path quarry path foundation
