AT ALFAMA XVIII CENTURY PALACE
The Sé district (Cathedral) is the heart of Lisbon's Historic Centre, which for centuries was the preferred area of the aristocracy and the Royal Family, which was then located where is now the "Praça do Comércio", facing the “Tejo” River.
Located 200 m from the Cathedral (which gives its name of 'Santa Maria Maior' to the district) the place has been reinvested since the 2010. The final development of the wharves in front of the Ministry of Finance is being completed with the renewal of the Art Deco terminals of the river shuttles. Now the 2,3-kilometre promenade that leads from “Santa Apolonia” to “Cais da Sodre” is the most beautiful in Lisbon. This location also allows you to have your yacht or speedboat parked in the latest Marina de Lisboa, which is a 5m walk away, allowing you to enjoy a rare privilege in a large Capital The "Palacete" is located above the gardens of “Campo das Cebolas” which now hosts a few very good restaurants. Getting to the Praça do Comércio takes a few minutes on foot. Having its own garages the house is completely self-contained, while the new car park at Campo Das Cebolas - located about 120 m from the "Palacete" is easily accessible to visitors.

THE HISTORY
Attached to the old Castle wall, (originating in Roman times) that closed to the barbarians the entrance to the city, the "Palacete" known as d'Angeja is one of the only mansions in the area, where the tourist district of Alfama begins. It was built in 1758 by Pedro José de Noronha Camões de Albuquerque Moniz e Sousa, Count of Vila Verde, Marquis de Angeja (1716-1788). Of Spanish origin, the Noronha family was born in the 13th century and where relatives to the 1 st King of Portugal. The Counts Bobone and then the current owners are the 2 nd and 3 rd families since 1830. The next buyer will be the 4 th... The ground floor then opened by 3 central doors flanked by a window on each side. The small central door (No.30) was then the entrance of the servants. On its left, (communicating from the inside) the number 32 has always been the main entrance. The left window corresponded to a small room (possibly for the use of toilets and changing rooms). In the years 1925/30 this window was replaced by a door, numbered 32A. There is now the technical closet (water and electricity meters) as well as the elevator shaft. To the right of the door of the servants of number 30, the large door (numbered 28) gave access to the carriage garage and the stable. To the right of this door was the window (now door 28A) which illuminated the garage like the 5 side windows that open onto a the alley Beco Marquês de Angeja
The servants certainly lived in the mezzanine of the ground floor. This mezzanine of a hundred m2 has been demolished by the current owners. Image of the current façade

Parking in the street or neighbourhood One of the main reasons for the exceptional calm of the Palacete is that traffic is regulated. Only taxis, VTCs, and residents. The entrance to the area is above the Cathedral, by the Rua Do Barao. The "Palacete" has 2 electronic beeps, on behalf of the owners. These beeps are to be transferred to the names of the purchasers. They allow you to enter zone 42 and you also have the possibility to access a border area (the 13 that corresponds to Baixa). Each beep is charged 12 euros per year. You don't have to pay for parking in the 2 chosen areas. These same beeps serve as a means of payment in most car parks, drop-off areas at the airport, and paypasses on motorways or on paid roads. At 120 m - below - the public parking of “Campo das Cebolas”
NOTE The furniture presented in the property belongs to the family and is not for sale. The "Palacete" is sold as it is, equipped (with the exception of a special trading situation) This means that everything that is building by destination (closets, bathroom equipment, recessed lighting, kitchen equipment) are included in the overall price of the property. Some old decorations can eventually - be sold separately at the buyer's request.
