It is those core values that have made ACCA the go-to resource for older adults in this region for 54 years. We relied on these guiding principles to help us navigate COVID-19 and to deliver on promises we made. Promises to our staff, to those older adults we serve, and to the community members we had the privilege of meeting and serving throughout this past year. In a time in our history like no other, we delivered in ways we never thought possible. With each decision made, with each milestone celebrated, we were able to accomplish many things because of the loyal support from our ACCA family. It is with you, our dedicated supporters, that we share our appreciation and offer a snapshot of fiscal year 2021.

Though the agency's doors were closed and the staff remained split for most of the year, ACCA maintained several of its programs, services and events. We had a record-breaking campaign of over $20,000 for Turkeypalooza. Our team of staff and volunteers distributed meals to 467 households.
In the early days of the pandemic, that was our promise to our community and to our staff. We not only delivered on that promise, we believe we exceeded it. Our year was a mixture of the tangible items that we could physically deliver - the bags of muchneeded food and basic essentials, face masks, hand sanitizer, at-home activity packets, offerings of virtual activities and vaccinations. But, equally as important were the non-tangibles we delivered - a sense of security, of hope, social connections and purpose. These feelings were shared among those we served, our staff, community partners and volunteers.
During our Be a Santa to a Senior program, the community donated over 2,500 gifts for 670 seniors to have something to open during the holidays. Gifts were also provided to 79 grandchildren who are being raised by their grandparents. ACCA teamed up with the Northeast Georgia Health District, Piedmont Athens Regional and AU/UGA Medical Partnership and United Way to offer nine vaccination clinics giving over 200 vaccinations.

Total Budget: $6,381,610 - A 30% increase from the year before Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent emergency food relief assistance, our service levels soared over 4000% from the previous year. Because of ACCA’s COVID emergency relief efforts, we saw a significant increase in both our public funding and our non-government grants. The majority of our public funds were received from Athens Clarke-County Government to support the Athens EatsTogether project. Over 85% of the non-government grant funding received was from Meals on Wheels America. We are immensely grateful for their continued support of ACCA's Meals on Wheels programs in both Athens and Winder.
ACCA had a 32% decrease in fundraising revenue from private and corporate support. In March of 2020, we received a sharp increase in donations in the weeks immediately after ACCA shuttered its doors due to the pandemic. Those donations significantly increased the funds in FY20 and attribute to the large decrease felt this last fiscal year.
ACCA now serves 100 additional individuals through Meals on Wheels who have no permanent funding source. In order to continue this service, private philanthropic aid is needed to cover meals for these individuals once COVID relief funds are exhausted. This is a priority for us this next fiscal year.
