Helloeveryone. The activitiesinchurchesand OMFgraduallyreturnedtonormalasthepanic from the pandemic subsided. At the end of June,OMFheldafieldconference.Thisisthe first time all OMF missionaries in Japan gathered since the pandemic. We held a fiveday rally in Hokkaido with more than 200 missionaries attending. Thankful for the opportunity to get to know many new missionaries whom we have never met, we had very good fellowship. On them, I can vaguely see myself as I first stepped into the field, andIameagertosharewiththemwhatIhad learned. Of course, God allowed us each to grow in different ways and there is no shortcut, I can only cheer them on beside them. I also look for opportunities during the Conference to chat with those who came before me to learn and find encouragement from them.
In addition to the OMF Japanese mission field, I also serve with New Horizons. These areplaceswherethere isnoOMFOffice, like France,Brazil, etc.Whenpeopletherewishto serve with OMF in Asia, they must apply through New Horizon. I mainly care for the short-termandlong-termfemalemissionaries from there. In July, a New Horizon gathering was also held in Japan. Due to the small number, we held it in the OMF Chiba office building.
Bothofthe gatheringshave challenged me to grow for the kingdom of God - to leave the comfortable and accustomed life and put it in God'shandsto be taught and to be molded for God’spurpose. How God will use me isnot up to my talent, but up to my God. You alone deserve all the glory.
The churchalso held a BBQ event duringthe public holiday except it happened to be the hottest day since July. Althoughsome children could not stand the heat and had to leave early, withGod’sgrace, the event was successfully completed. More than 30 people participated that day includinga student from my ESL class. Throughthis opportunity, I had a more in-depth conversation with her. Pray that God will continue to work in thisclass.
The ESL classin one brother'scompany has three non-believingyoung Japanese girlsin the class. We did not take any feesbut saved them for mealswithour classmatestogether periodically to improve our relationship. The first time we went to an Italian restaurant, but found it quite noisy, we could not carry on any meaningful conversation. The restaurantsin Japan are usually noisy duringdinner for many people drink. But, even so, everyone ismore relaxed duringthe meal and is more willing to discussdifferent topics. Please continue to pray for thisEnglishclass.
