Primary school readiness programme Updated for 2020 School readiness means ensuring your child has the tools and support to be ready for primary school. It takes into account your child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. We will endeavour to prepare your child for primary school by introducing our older preschool students to the wider ACG Tauranga student community, where they will make friends, build relationships with the primary teachers and explore a range of facilities such as the art room, music room, full sized gymnasium and sports field. Core skills developed as part of our programme: >

Early literacy and numeracy

>

Good social interaction

>

A desire for ongoing learning

>

Confidence

>

Independence

>

Problem solving

Early learning is critical Children learn more quickly during their early years than any other time in life In the first few years of life, more than one million new neural connections are formed every second. Young children learn best in an environment that addresses their educational, social, emotional and physical needs. High-quality early learning environments make a difference in children’s lifelong academic and social success. Source: National Association for the Education of Young Children
