Collaboration, Teamwork, and Sportsmanship: A Heartfelt Farewell to 2024
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it’s only fitting to reflect on the moments that defined 2024 for our ACG School Jakarta community. This past month brought two incredible highlights the Primary production Pirates of the Curry Bean and our much-anticipated Sports Olympiad that encapsulated the spirit of collaboration, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These events served as the perfect conclusion to a year filled with growth, joy, and unity.
The Pirates of the Curry Bean production was a brilliant showcase of what can be achieved when individuals come together with a shared goal. From the vibrant performances on stage to the seamless coordination behind the scenes, the production was a testament to the power of teamwork.
It was inspiring to see students of all ages work alongside dedicated teachers and staff to bring this lively and comedic tale to life. Every detail, from the costumes to the choreography, reflected hours of effort and a commitment to excellence. Beyond the applause and laughter, the production taught our students valuable lessons in perseverance, creative expression, and the rewards of collective effort.
Meanwhile, the Sports Olympiad captured the essence of sportsmanship and camaraderie. Whether running, jumping, or cheering from the sidelines, our students demonstrated that competition is about more than winning it’s about respect, encouragement, and celebrating everyone ’ s efforts Moments of triumph were shared, and challenges were met with resilience and grace. The event brought our school community together, highlighting the importance of unity and the joy of shared experiences.
As we say goodbye to 2024, these events remind us of the core values that underpin our holistic education at ACG School Jakarta. Collaboration, teamwork, and sportsmanship are not just skills for school but essential qualities for life. Optimizing Futures: ACG School Jakarta's IB Pathway Session
On Friday, December 6, 2024, ACG School Jakarta hosted an engaging IB Pathway Session, led by Mr. Kieran Pascoe, the school's IBDP Coordinator. This hybrid event catered to Year 12 and Year 13 students, focusing on optimizing their learning strategies and providing insights into suitable majors and universities.
The session attracted a diverse audience, with some parents attending in person at the school while others joined online via Microsoft Teams. This format ensured that all interested parties could participate, regardless of their location. The live broadcast allowed parents unable to attend physically to engage with the content and ask questions in real-time.
Mr. Pascoe emphasized the importance of tailored learning strategies to enhance academic performance and prepare students for higher education. He shared valuable information about various majors and institutions that align with students' aspirations and career goals.

ACG School Jakarta recently witnessed a swashbuckling adventure unfold on stage as the Primary School students presented "Pirates of the Curry Bean." This vibrant musical production, staged on Wednesday, December 11th at 9PM, captivated the audience with its energetic performances and a heartwarming story.
The tale follows the daring adventures of twins Jack and Liza Periwinkle, whose dreams of exciting escapades come to life when they discover a real-life treasure map Their joy quickly turns to dismay when the infamous Redbeard and his "Pirates of the Curry Bean" steal the map and kidnap their mother The stage then erupted with thrilling action as the young heroes embark on a daring rescue mission, determined to save their mother, reclaim the map, and uncover the hidden treasure.
The production was a testament to the incredible talent of the young cast Their enthusiasm shone through in every song and dance, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained. The Secondary School students provided invaluable support, contributing their skills to the music, set design, costumes, and lighting, creating a truly immersive theatrical experience
The "Pirates of the Curry Bean" production was a resounding success, showcasing the dedication and talent of the young performers and the collaborative spirit between the Primary and Secondary Schools.
ACGSchool Jakarta Ignitesa Global Spiritat Sports Olympiad
ACG School Jakarta recently hosted its annual Sports Olympiad, a full-day event that brought together students from all year levels in a vibrant celebration of athleticism and cultural diversity
This year, the competition took on a unique global flavor. While traditional sporting events like football and athletics remained a highlight, the Olympiad incorporated a fascinating array of traditional games from around the world. Students participated in activities such as Lompat Karet (Indonesian rubber band jumping), American football, Indian archery, and many other exciting challenges.
The four House Teams – Komodo, Cicak, Gecko, and Biawak – competed fiercely, with each team comprising students from Year 1 to Year 13. Points were awarded for each event, and the judges, a dedicated team of teachers, meticulously tallied the scores to determine the ultimate victor.
The Sports Olympiad was a resounding success, thanks in large part to the invaluable support of the Class Parents Representatives (CPRs). The CPRs played a crucial role in organizing the games, ensuring fair play, and providing refreshments for both students and staff.
The event was a joyful occasion, fostering camaraderie and school spirit. Students from all year levels cheered each other on, creating an atmosphere of excitement and friendly competition. While the day flew by, it left a lasting impression on all who participated, reminding everyone of the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and embracing diverse cultures.

The Tuesday, December 3rd assembly at ACG School Jakarta was a delightful affair, filled with charming performances and important announcements.
The highlight of the assembly was undoubtedly the captivating presentation by the Kindergarten students With their infectious enthusiasm, they explored the fascinating world of the senses, explaining how we use sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell to interact with the world around us. Their engaging presentation was further enhanced by a delightful rendition of the Indonesian song "Dua Mata Saya " The Kindergarteners were simply adorable, captivating the audience with their cuteness and confidence.
The assembly also saw the announcement of the House Team Captains and Vice Captains Devansh Bahuguna and Ayala Shakhaidar will lead House Komodo, while Mohammad Ali Imran and Nathanael Semarun will represent House Gecko. Aryan Joshi and Izabelle (Izzie) Widjaja will lead House Cicak, and Alekhya Vemuri and Nissa Falisha will represent House Biawak.
Adding another layer of artistic brilliance to the assembly was a captivating piano recital by Pratosh Bahuguna from Year 7. His performance was smooth and elegant, showcasing his talent and artistic flair.
The assembly, though brief, was a memorable one, leaving a lasting impression on the entire school community.

The Year 3 students at ACG School Jakarta recently had the privilege of a unique and inspiring learning experience. Renowned singer, Ms. Tere, graced their classroom, sharing her passion for music and guiding them on a journey of artistic exploration. The basketball match against JIS was a nail-biter from start to finish, with both teams going head-tohead in a tense battle. In the end, our Wolves emerged victorious, showcasing their skill, determination, and teamwork. A well-deserved win for our basketball team congratulations! Meanwhile, on the volleyball court, our junior boys’ and girls’ teams faced BSJ. The boys played an outstanding match, coming close to victory but narrowly missing out. Their performance was commendable and demonstrated immense growth and teamwork
Ms Tere, who is also the sister of the class's beloved Teacher's Assistant, Ms Lia, captivated the young minds with her stories about the music industry, the art of songwriting, and the importance of channeling one ' s inner creativity. She shared valuable insights into her own musical journey, inspiring the students with her passion and dedication
The session was filled with interactive elements, including a brief introduction to playing musical instruments and engaging discussions about their aspirations. Ms. Tere encouraged the students to dream big and pursue their passions, leaving a lasting impression on each young mind
The Year 3 students thoroughly enjoyed the session, finding it both fun and deeply enriching. It was a truly memorable experience that fostered a love for music and ignited their creative sparks. The entire class extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Tere for sharing her time and talent.
