Message from the Principal
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students,
What an end to the Semester and 2022 it has been. The students have been working hard after their mid-year exams in Secondary, but all have been wrapping up tasks in time for the December Holiday.
We had a number of student written dramas performed, and how they captured the audience’s imagination and energised them. We have some talented performers across the school; Dancers in Kindy, Singers in Y3 and 4, and Actors in Years 7 to 9. I look forward to being able to put on a school production.
With Christmas just around the corner, some classes went to visit the tree to see the bright lights. We would love to see other festivals being celebrated in the nook.
Academically, it seemed that science was in the air with Y2 and the DP students focused on light or the science in the World Cup. Listening to the students describe so much and so vividly, it shows how they have grown in confidence.
And we had the Whole School House Olympiad, great events and energy. Thank you to the parents who support the lunch booths from different nations. It was delicious, we know the students enjoyed it so much.
I hope you all have had an outstanding holiday. Looking forward to seeing you all in Semester Two,
Warm regards

Year 2 have been exploring the properties of light and sound for their Unit of Inquiry on How the World Works. We brainstormed about sources of light and sound and learned that light and sound both travel in waves. We found that we can see things because light bounces off objects and is reflected into our eyes and that sound vibrates air molecules to reach our ears. For math we have been learning about fractions and how probability can be represented as fractions. In literacy we have been using journals for reflective writing.
IB Diploma Programme (DP) Science students are encouraged to work as a team toto grasp science’s environmental, social, and ethical aspects through the Group 4 project. The theme for this year is The science behind World Cup. This collaborative and multidisciplinary activity allows the students to understand the relationship between scientific disciplines and the overarching nature of the scientific method.IB Diploma Programme (DP) Science students are encouraged to work as a team to grasp science’s environmental, social, and ethical aspects through the Group 4 project. LEARNING IN
Who wouldn’t love a good old comedy? ACG’s Weekly School Assembly today has been filled with giggles and laughter as the Drama Classes from the lower secondary showcase their original stories in their first mini-production entitled “ACG’s Great Short Plays”. From Year 7’s “Annoying Traveller” to siblings fighting over Elsa and Harry Styles, the Drama Classes and firsttime performers indeed did not hold back their creativity in exploring their script writing and acting skills in Ms Roschelle and Mr Kieran’s classes. Our kindergartens loved interacting with the Ghost from Year 8, who went off the stage chasing the grumpy dad of her twin friends. And finally, ending the program was a surprise from the cast of Year 9’s Cinderella, the Parody, as Vivan pranced from the gym’s front door wearing his blue gown paired with huge red Jordans. Indeed, what an enjoyable way to welcome the last two weeks of the semester! Who wouldn’t love a good old comedy?
