YEAR 8 MAGAZINE HOBBIES & INTERESTS
A WELCOME FROM YEAR 8 Hello Readers, In Year 8 English we've created a magazine based on the topic, "Hobbies and Interests". Of course, everyone is interested in different things, whether it's
related to sports, art, music, games or the environment.
Hobbies are generally activities that you engage in, while interests are passive ideas or topics. Now, this might be a good time to think about a new hobby or interest. Our magazine has been created to introduce and explain a range of different topics, which we are interested in too. We've all put in a lot of hard work into our magazine from the planning stage to publishing. We hope that you enjoy reading and that you learn something new that you can share with others. Special thanks to: The Editing Team: Maika, Devansh, Nabiel, Rob, Philip, Alec, Andrea, Ryan, Zeeshan The Creative Team: Raiza, Kaja, Sofie, Etarina, Lorenzo, Nadiyya, Omid, Hari, Austin, Rixell and Zaidan

USE SPELLS WISELY!

For those of you who want to be a pro and earn money, use your summoner spell called “flash” as it will give the enemy less time to react to your moves. Abilities can have high cooldowns and mana cost, so when farming for minions try to hit last with your basic attacks to consume less mana and be ready for when your opponent attacks.
REMEMBER THE META! P a y a t t e n t i o n t o t h e m e t a , w h i c h i s t h e m o st e f f e c t i v e t a c t i c a v a i l a b l e w h e n c h o o s i n g your champions. The meta is when a new update comes out and changes champions to make them stronger or weaker. Remembering the meta is good because you can pick stronger champions to play, and check if your favourite champions have become stronger.

Pegasus is the well-known winged horse in Greek mythology. But how did the Pegasus come into existence in the first place? Pegasus was an offspring of Poseidon, the God of the Sea, and Medusa, one of the infamous Gorgons. There are many translations of the name Pegasus, but the one that is most popular is “from a water spring”. It is said that a spring would appear every time he struck the earth with his hoof. The Pegasus has had many adventures. One notable adventures was with Bellerophon, whom he helped to slay the Chimera.. BTS made history by being the first K-pop act to get a nomination at the Grammys.
But for the East we have artists like boy band BTS and girl band BlackPink. BTS are currently the biggest boy band in the world, having achieved many awards, making history by being the first K-pop act to perform at the Grammys and as well as getting a nomination from the Grammy's. If you enjoy K-pop dance music, Pop and Hiphop I would recommend BTS. Here are the stages: 92°-Butter Melts, causing the dough to spread. Butter is made of fat and water, with some dairy. The butter melts leaving the fat in the cookie and leaves the water to steam up. 136°- Salmonella bacteria in the eggs are killed. 212°- Water evaporates from the dough, causing it to dry out and stiffen. Baking soda then reacts with the acids in your dough to make carbon dioxide, which leaves air pockets to make the cookie light and flaky. 310°- Maillard Reactions occur when sugars and proteins break down and rearrange forming ring structures which reflect light. When this happens, it gives off aroma and flavour compounds. 356°- Caramelization occurs when sugar molecules break down under high heat, making the cookie sweet, nutty and slightly bitter.
That is the science behind baking cookies. Quite a lot isn't it? This recipe and knowledge will certainly impress your friends and family. Have fun and happy baking!
