OK.Video is presenting Muvi Party (Music Video Party), a biennial Asian Music Video Festival. This festival serves as an avenue to keep track of music video works in Indonesia, Southeast Asian and greater Asia, as well as dedicates a special appreciation towards music video artists/makers for their creative, innovative and inspiring works.
Muvi Party festival originates from a music video workshop, which was conducted by ruangrupa in 2002. The workshop involved video artists from Germany, Oliver Husain and Michel Klöfkorn, college students, young artists and film directors in Indonesia to discover alternative visual languages in the Indonesian music video production. During the workshop, the music video was situated beyond promotional media; it posed autonomous possibilities as a video art.
