Pola Jakarta (Jakarta’s Pattern), pattern of daily life of how people deal with the reality and produce their own strategy. This project started in 2011 and finished in 2013. I captured many things that happened in every place in Jakarta. I see the reality everyday and that’s very interesting. It’s important for me as an artist to know my city. Because the characteristic of the city I live in shape my identity as an artist. I divide this hundred series of illustration into three kind; fenomena, new found job (strategizing spirit of the citizen), and life style. All of them have their own story, so I write and put my conversation with the object I drew beside the illustration. Every edition has 16 images of illustration and published in A6 size fanzine and its free. I published until 3 edition and then the hiatus time for the publishing but not the process of the research and made the illustration. In the end of 2013 I finished the hundred illustration and compile the whole into a book.

I still continue the exploration of Pola Jakarta works into another medium, video. I absorb the atmosphere of Jakarta into a new project called Survival Tips. 5 fragment of my initiative tactical to respond the worst scenario you will face in Jakarta. I also having a trial for these tips in the real environment of Jakarta’s street. After that I made re-created video series of Survival Tips that I’ve performed in real circumstances. This work exhibited in EXIST #2 Dia.Lo.Gue 2014.
