ABOUT TONY MECCA . . . . . . . . . .

Anthony Mecca, native of Waterbury,

Conn ., came by his love

for the accordion through his broth er Dominick who was his first structor

in-

when a mere youngster.

Decision

to make the accordion

his career,

brought him to

New York where he furth ered and complet ed his studies with Joe Biviano, well known accor dion virtuoso an d instructor.

Aft er his discharge

from th e a rm y in 1946, Tony Mecca turned

his atte ntion to professional

playing and soon was in great demand for

r.:adio and television famous conductors

work and recordings.

He has worked under such

as Leonard Bernst ein , Alf redo Antonini and Raymond

Scott and has recorded

for pr actically all well known record companies.

It is this background

to write this important

of s tudy and experie nce that enables him

and authoritative

acco rdion work, which will

soon be followed by other works in the popular field.
