Amazon launches its first 4-star retail outlet in the UK ❑ Amazon has launched its first non-food 4-star store

outside the US in a shopping center near London, marking another stage in its experimentation with physical retail formats.

❑ The name selected for the store, Amazon 4-star,

was chosen because every item stocked has been given more than four stars by customers. This is the first Amazon 4-star store outside the US, where there are already more than 30 and 2000 of its most popular and best-rated products to be sold.

❑ Products in the store will be marked with digital

tags containing the item’s price, average star rating and the number of customer reviews. Customers will also be able to collect items ordered online as well as return items without the need for packaging and labels.

RETAIL & CSR

This IKEA Store in Thailand Has Transformed Into A Circular Shop ❑IKEA is promoting in Thailand the movement of the circular economy that encourages the extended life and use of materials and products as long as possible by means of sharing, reusing, refurbishing and recycling all with the purpose of reducing production.

❑The Swedish home and furniture giant is now trying to encourage its Thai consumers to actively bring any IKEA product that they no longer need to the store where IKEA will estimate its price and then pay them in the form of a gift card. ❑Other key pledges that IKEA has made globally include turning at least 50% of its in-store menus plant-based by 2025, which will have a huge impact on lowering its food-related emissions.

Netflix opens Squid Game pop-up store where fans can play the games ❑ On October 2nd, Netflix unveiled a pop-up store at Rue d'Alexandrie in Paris, France. The store, which they called Squid Game Experience Center, lets visitors experience the games played in the show as a type of immersion in the depth of the show. ❑ The pop-up videos have since gone viral on TikTok, with people sharing what happens once they enter the store. The pop-up store was only open for two days and proved an instant hit with fans of the Korean-language show. ❑ As the show's popularity only grows, fans should keep an eye on their country's Netflix Twitter account for updates and more information on possible locations and dates due to the successful communication campaign done by Netflix for the launch of the Pop-up store in Paris.

Tim Hortons is Introducing Smart Waste Bins with Image Recognition Tech ❑ Tim Hortons is piloting artificial intelligence-

assisted technology at select restaurants across Canada with the goals of providing recycling and composting education for guests and driving increased recycling and diversion rates.

be equipped with a screen and product image recognition technology to identify packaging items that guests scan. The screen provides guidance to guests on whether the items they scanned can be recycled or go into the compost bin or should go in the waste bin.

❑ Tim

Hortons is also partnering with TerraCycle's zero-waste platform Loop to pilot a program that will give guests the option of paying a deposit and receiving reusable and returnable cups or food containers so they can help the brand on their mission to reduce single-use waste.
