EXPLORE NEWACTON

THE FUN OF SCIENCE

Discover the delights of the NewActon dining precinct. The Parlour Wine Room, a Canberra favourite, is the perfect spot for a quiet drink and bite to eat. It’s located next door to A. Baker which, along with M can & Green Grout, has become a popular spot for a great cup of coffee or meal. Traditional Italian restaurant Bicicletta remains a favourite with a variety of delicious produce sourced from local suppliers as well as from Italy. Movie-lovers can enjoy a drink at the sophisticated Prosecco Bar or a coffee and gourmet tastings from the Electric Espresso Cafe before seeing a film at the Palace Electric Cinema. newacton.com.au

At Questacon — The National Science and Technology Centre, you’ll experience science in extraordinary ways. Free-fall down a six-metre slide, go head over heels on the 360 Swing, experience an earthquake or challenge a robot to a game of air hockey. There’s something for everyone in Questacon’s eight galleries. Explore colour, movement, light and sound in the Wonderworks gallery, where you can play music using light beams or try to escape the ever-watching gaze of an emu. Little scientists, and their carers, will enjoy Mini Q as they play, discover and learn in a gallery just for 0–6 year olds. Discover the power and beauty of Earth’s forces and live to tell the tale in the newly updated Awesome Earth gallery. No visit to Questacon is complete without watching, or starring in, a Spectacular Science Show, presented daily. questacon.edu.au
