Our Name WHAT DOES THE WORD ACUMEN MEAN? ACUMEN ; (ˈækjʊˌmɛn, əˈkjuːmən) The word is a Latin word from the 1530s which means "a point, sting," hence "sharpness, shrewdness," from acuere "to sharpen" . ACUMEN is the ability to judge well; keen discernment; insight ACUMEN means quickness, accuracy, and keenness of judgment or insight. BUSINESS ACUMEN is keenness and quickness in understanding and dealing with a business situation in a manner that is likely to lead to a good outcome. [1] The term "business acumen" can be broken down literally as a composite of its two component words: Business literacy is defined in SHRM's Business Literacy Glossary as "the knowledge and understanding of the financial, accounting, marketing and operational functions of an organization” [2] The Oxford English Dictionary defines acumen as "the ability to make good judgments and quick decisions". [3] Given these textbook definitions, a strictly literal definition would be "keenness and quickness in understanding and dealing with a business situation” http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Business_acumen

What is God’s Business?
GOD WANTS YOU TO PROSPER 7 Bible Verses about Prosperity 1.Deuteronomy 8:18 …Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.
2. Deuteronomy 30:8-10 And you shall again obey the Lord, and observe all His command‐ ments which I command you today. “Then the Lord your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the Lord will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; if you obey the Lord your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul.
3. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do accord‐ ing to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosper‐ ous, and then you will have success.
4. Psalm 1: 1-3 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his de‐ light is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
5. Psalm 35:27 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication; and let them say continually, “The Lord be magnified, who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”
6.Malachi 3:10 “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

Psalm 113:9 “ He maketh the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord”
IBITAYO JEJE (TEN YEARS OF MARRIAGE WITHOUT A CHILD) My husband, Pastor Ayodeji Jeje and I got married on the 8th of December 2001,a beau ful day that s ll long fills my memories with joy. However in the course of a decade aGer the wedding, we had no children, not one. Of course I had always heard people say things like 'they waited 2, 5, 10 or 20 years for the fruit of the womb’, but didn’t fully understand it un l I experienced it personally.
I laid down every weight and put my faith to work and God decided to give me a birthday giG in September, three months later. As I watched my stomach grow minute by minute, day by day, month by month, standing in front of the mirror every five minutes to see what God was doing, I knew of a truth that God never sleeps nor slumbers and he definitely wasn't sleeping on my case.
Our culture, our faith, our families and friends all look towards celebra ng with us when we announce that we are pregnant or have a baby, so you can imagine the amount of pressure I began to feel aGer the first couple of years.
Our bundle of joy finally came in May 2011 aGer so many ba"les during pregnancy, from bed rest to all sorts, and today our son, Ayomikun, ( my joy is full) Moyege, ( I am victorious) Diekolopeoluwa, ( My praise to God will not be small) Oluwapaaganmire,( God removed barrenness from me) Kelechi, Salama...... (Let me stop here cause the names are endless) has started ea ng Amala and Ewedu.(Adult food) Glory be to Jehovah.
Four (4) years into the marriage, we sort medical assistance, just to ascertain that everything was working physically body-wise, and so you will understand why I almost passed out (fainted) when the doctors confirmed to us that my tubes were blocked, and there was really nothing medically they could do. This I can categorically say was the worst day of my life. My husband is the best man in the world period. My husband -Pastor Ayo reassured me with convic on, I mean serious convic on and faith, that doctors have their reports and so does God. My case, to a large extent, was a pleasant wai ng experience because my husband was suppor ve all through, and my in-laws made life really beau ful, with no pressures whatsoever. But I started coun ng the years, self-inflicted pressure, depression and panic, and only could see my chances weaken of being a mother, as I grew older. My husband had named so many babies for so many mothers and I had to challenge God that when will he allow this righteous man name our own baby too.
Can anyone convince me otherwise that God is s-ll not in the business of answering prayers? I am a living witness; more so, you can't give what you don't have! I am a Chris an, a born-again Chris an, but being an expectant mother, and trus ng for a child or children affects women of all faiths, irrespec ve of culture, state of origin, tribe, skin color, country or con nent. Please do not be deceived by thinking that I didn’t pray fervently, fast, worship, and praise, inclusive of having faith and believing, but only God in his infinite mercy can make it happen in His me. If you have been wai ng for years for this same miracle, it is not late, it will never be late, just keep believing. I started a prayer and praise chain in September this year (2012) to encourage women who are trus ng God for the fruit of the womb, for us to pray and praise together and I know God will hear all our cries and answer our prayers, the same way he did for me!
AGer almost 10 years of wai ng, my husband finally came to me in June 2010 to say God had given him the name of our baby and that I was going to get This is my tes mony!!!!!! pregnant that year. To be honest, aGer wai ng that long you begin to wonder www.facebook.com/ibitayo.jeje about yourself and your confidence diminishes terribly, but for the fact that my husband said it, I can confirm that i had never believed liked that Do you have a testimony that can encourage others that God is still in the business of making dreams come true.? before. Send us via email your testimony in word doc format of not much more than 200 words & 5 jpeg pictures to myfaithtvn@yahoo.com

.All the people around you have money but cannot give it to you except you have something of value to make them release it. This fact became more real to me in March 2009. I was in my hotel room in London and it was during what was then called The Peak of Recession and the late Michael Jackson had announced his proposed “THIS IS IT” concert that was to run for months.

PLACES MONEY HIDES
“Many people look, but only few people see” Back when the telegraph was the fastest method of long-distance communica on, a young man applied for a job as a Morse Code Operator. Responding to an ad in the newspaper, he went to the office address that was listed. When he arrived, he entered a large, busy office filled with cla"er, including the sound of the telegraph in the background. A sign on the recep onist's counter instructed job applicants to fill out a form and wait un l they were summoned to enter the inner office. The young man filled out his form and sat down with the seven other applicants in the wai ng area. AGer a few minutes, the young man stood up, crossed the room to the door of the inner office, and walked right in. Naturally, the other applicants perked up, wondering what was going on. They mu"ered among themselves that they hadn't heard any summon yet. They assumed that the young man who went into the office made a mistake and would be disqualified. Within a few minutes, however, the employer escorted the young man out of the office and said to the other applicants, "Gentlemen, thank you very much for coming, but the job has just been filled." The other applicants began grumbling to each other, and one spoke up saying, "Wait a minute, I don't understand. He was the last to come in, and we never even got a chance to be interviewed. Yet he got the job. That's not fair!" The employer said, "I'm sorry, but the last several minutes while you've been siQng here, the telegraph has been cking out the following message in Morse Code: If you understand this message, then come right in. The job is yours.' None of you heard it or understood it. This young man did. The job is his. We are so busy living in a world that is full of noise and cla"er, like that office. People are distracted and unable to hear the s ll, small voice and inspira ons. The above story is from another email forwarded to me some mes ago and it's a good way to start this chapter. With all the things I have shared with you so far especially in the last chapter, I believe you are now be"er informed to realize that whatever you need can be yours if only you know where to look and what to do. For decades, I have heard people complaining of not having money and not being able to FIND money to do what needs to be done. One will then want to ask WHERE IS MONEY HIDING? I have discovered ten places where money is hiding and as we explore them one by one, I want you to be very sensi ve and reflec ve because I have seen many people become financially free just by this discovery.
1. MONEY HIDES IN PEOPLE Today, we have over seven billion people on the earth and I can tell you clearly that just like the spider is loaded with webs within it, money hides in people and will easily flow from them to you if only you: Have something to exchange for it or Solve a problem for them Money will always flow in the direc on of value
Due to the demand for the ckets as a result of the media hype and the announcement that it will be his final concerts ever. The shows were increased to 50 shows over a period of months. The venue was to be in 20,000 seats O2 Arena which means they expected a million people in fiGy shows. Guess what, people came from all over the world and some even stayed at the O2 Arena overnight just wai ng for the cket sales to open at the office and online. At £70 per cket, £70 million pounds came in from the cket sales to people. The concert was s ll months away and the world was supposed to be in recession, but 70 million pounds s ll came out of people. Michael Jackson unfortunately passed on before the concert could start, but you get the message. There are millions hiding in people that can also flow to you if you create value to draw it out.
2. MONEY HIDES IN PROBLEMS Money hides in problems, and every problem you see is money in disguise. Instead of complaining about problem, every reader should start thinking solu on because seeing a need and mee ng it/seeing a problem and solving it is what draws money out of problems. Look around you, every problem you see; every need you see around is a poten al money-spinner for you. One man's problem is another man's opportunity. The food-seller makes money from your hunger-problem The Cloth-seller makes money from your nakedness/fashion-problem The teacher/school makes money from your ignorance-problem The doctor makes money from your healthproblem The lawyer makes money from your crises-problem The transporter makes money from your mobility-problem The landlord makes money from your shelter-problem The list goes on but you get the message. Stop complaining about problems and start solving them. Make a list of problems and needs that exist in your environment, and start picking the ones you can solve and money will flow. People have made money from problems for genera ons ll date just by solving general problems like the basic needs of man (food, shelter, clothing, transporta on etc) to unique problems in different sectors, na ons and lives. From birth to death, there is money in every problem and it's me to start making money. Can you imagine yourself finding the cure to HIV/AIDS, Cancer etc and remaining poor? There are countless problems to solve locally, na onally and globally and there are billions to be made - Get to work!
3.MONEY HIDES IN GIFTS AND TALENTS There is no single individual on earth that is not giGed or talented in at least one area. The Creator ensured that no one was created empty. As human beings, we are stuffed with poten als and they are within to sustain us in the journey of life. YOUR GOLD IS TIED TO YOUR GIFT YOUR PROFIT IS TIED TO YOUR POTENTIAL YOUR TREASURE IS TIED TO YOUR TALENT
10 www.acumenbusinessmag.com Acumen Business Pages Edi-on 7 October 2012
Pg 11
5. MONEY HIDES IN PRODUCTS AND SERVICES Think with me for a while. How much have you spent in the last twelve months? What did you spend the money on? The answer is very clear. You have spent at least 70% if not 100% paying for products or services.
10 PLACES MONEY HIDES – CONTD As ignorance and inability of many to discover, develop and deploy their giGs, talents, and poten als have kept them poor for genera ons, many industries with billions in turnover have been developed around this money hider. All our Sportsmen and Women ,All our Musicians ,,All our Actors and Actress ,All our Comedians All our Public Speakers and Teachers etc have all come to validate this fact that money hides in giGs and talents. I have seen people with unique giGs and talents stay in poverty and complain of lacking money, when all they needed was available within them like the spider and its web. What many people call hobby today is nothing but the Creator's provision for their sustenance. Can you sing? Can you act? Can you cook? Can you make people laugh? Can you write? Can you barb? Can you sew? Can you make hair? Can you drive? Can you talk? Can you hear? Can you see? Can you walk? Can you laugh/smile? Can you move? Can you sit? Can you stand? Can you run? Can you jump? Can you push? Can you carry etc? The list of possibili es is endless and I have seen people make money and become millionaires just by using their giGs, talents and poten als; and I can tell you, there is nothing as fulfilling as geQng paid for doing what you love, what you are passionate about, and what you can do for free.
4. MONEY HIDES IN OPPORTUNITIES Opportuni es are doorways and ladders to new levels of life, and countless opportuni es abound in today's world to make money. Like I said earlier, one man's problem is another man's opportunity and money hides in opportunity. Many mes, what people call success or luck is just opportunity mee ng with prepara on. It is be"er to be prepared wai ng for opportunity than for opportunity to come and meet you unprepared. Due to ignorance of how to iden fy opportuni es, a lot of people have missed making money. I have the privilege of running a group of companies with about nine subsidiaries and I can trace almost all of the subsidiaries to an opportunity I saw, realized or came across and today each of the business is bringing in her own income. I discovered a secret about opportunity almost 2 decades ago and it has guided me ll date. “SINCE MONEY HIDES IN OPPORTUNITY, WHENEVER PEOPLE ASK ME IF I CAN HELP WITH SOMETHING, I INSTANTLY BECOME A MIDDLEMAN BETWEEN THEM AND THE SOLUTION BECAUSE I SEE THEM COMING TO ASK ME AS AN OPPORTUNITY WITH POTENTIAL FOR MONEY TO FLOW.” What does it take to develop yourself or discover contacts to solve peoples' problem and meet their needs. In today's global village and the internet being the village square solu on is just a click away.
www.acumenbusinessmag.com
What this mean is that money has flowed out of you to others for products and services. No wonder the word currency is used to describe “money”, because, it is like currents that either flow towards or away from you. Money hides in products and services and those who have products or offer services keep making money no ma"er the economic climate, recession or no recession. Are you not paying for food? Are you not paying for transport? Are you not paying for rent? Are you not paying for basic daily, weekly needs? Are you not paying for u li es? From the a"achment or wig on your head To the jewelries on your ears, neck, hands, or otherwise To the glasses on your eyes To the body cream and hair cream To the clothes on your body To the wrist watches on your wrist To the shoes on your feet To the u li es you enjoy like, phones, cables, electricity, internet etc They are all somebody's products, services or crea on - their brains did it. Some people are even label or designer freaks that waste money by insis ng on buying specific labels or brands for status sake and not necessarily value. You are spending money on someone else's BRAIN CHILD and LABEL - Where is your brain child? Where is your own product or services that people can pay you for? You are in school now and it's me to put on your thinking cap. Money hides in products and services and the world is wai ng for yours.

Your Credit Score Is Not Your Story.
b. If the Score is not attractive, they may deny the loan request (“put the book back” on the shelf).
Think back to the last time you went to a Book Store. You were surrounded by millions of books and magazines and had a desire to buy one, maybe two or three books about a general subject. You go to the desired subject section and now you much choose. So, how did you choose? Was it the Cover? Was it the Title? Was it the Author? Did someone refer you to a specific book? Generally, many book buying consumers look at the cover then the title to determine if they are going to pick up the book and read the summary of the book on the back or even crack the seal to read the table of contents or a few paragraphs of the 1st chapter. Ironically, this is how many financial institutions make their judgmental decisions when approving or declining a loan request. Right, wrong or indifferent, here is what may happen when a person goes into a financial institution to apply for a loan:
Question: Have you ever overlooked an awesome book that had a horrible title and crappy cover? It was only when friends, family, or Oprah said that the book was a “Must Read” that you decided to check it out. Many financial institutions may be missing out on wonderful consumers who may have a very low credit score and "colorful" credit but are less of a credit risk because they now have their job back or a better job and are willing to do payroll deduction to pay on their loan to re-establish their credit. Many consumers have a low credit score because of an unfortunate, unforeseen and unexpected life interruption like being laid off, furloughed, divorced, etc. Now they are getting back on their feet. They need loans too and they have a story.
For these individuals who have a willingness to pay and a desire to re-establish their credit, here are a few helpful hints if you are denied a loan due to your credit score: 1.The representative may look at the appear- 1. Ask for specific reasons of why you were denied. ance of the customer (judge the “Cover of You may get a standard letter with one to the book”). three decline reasons. Call the financial institutions to get specific and understandable 2.The representative may take the application information then pull the credit report to reasons. 2. Ask for your Loan Request to be resee the Credit Score (judge the “title of the considered. book”). Most financial institutions may have a loan a. If the Score is attractive, they may look appeal process. If they do not, ask for a loan further into the credit report (read the “table manager or supervisor to review your loan of contents” or begin reading the book). request. Send your request in writing with Then approve the loan (“buy” the book). your story with supporting documentation, if available or necessary.
3. Offer to do payroll deduction for your loan payments from your paycheck. If the lender believes that they are "guaranteed" to receive their payments on time, they will see the loan request as less of a credit risk and may consider approving the loan question. 4. Ask to be considered for a Counter Offer or lesser amount. The higher the loan amount, the more of a risk. Perhaps instead of $1000 for 12 months, you may accept $500 for 6 months as a counter offer. The lender may consider this counter offer. 5. If they still won't consider your loan request, go to your local credit union and see what they can do to assist you. Credit Unions understand that Credit Scores are not always indicative of actual payment history or the Story of the credit report or person. Not everyone may be approved. BUT... if you have legitimate reasons as to why your credit is "colorful,” you are now back on track and you are looking for an opportunity to restore you credit, these helpful hints may help. HYMN HISTORY: It has been stated that only the person who can face the prospect of death realistically is able to live this life with purpose and confidence. Such was the conviction of a rather obscure English pastor, Henry F. Lyte, when he wrote the text for this hymn in 1847, shortly before his own home-going. It has since become one of the favorite hymns for Christians everywhere during times of sorrow and deep distress.
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Henry F. Lyte was born in Scotland on June 1, 1793. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, and was a member of the Church of England all of his life. Throughout his lifetime he was known as a man frail in body but strong in faith and spirit. His health was continually threatened by asthma and tuberculosis.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changes not, abide with me.
Despite his physical frailties he was a tireless worker with an established reputation as a poet, musician and minister. It was he who coined the phrase, "It is better to wear out than to rust out." Wherever he ministered, he was greatly loved and admired by his people.
Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word; But as Thou dwell’st with Thy disciples, Lord, Familiar, condescending, patient, free. Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.
For the last twenty-three years of his life Lyte pastored a poor parish church among fishing people at Lower Brixham, Devonshire, England. During these later years his health became progressively worse so that he was forced to seek a warmer climate in Italy.
Come not in terrors, as the King of kings, But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings, Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea— Come, Friend of sinners, and thus abide with me. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
His final words made a deep impact upon his people when he said that it was his desire to "induce you to prepare for the solemn hour which must come to all by a timely appreciation and dependence on the death of Christ." On his way to Rome, Italy, he was overtaken by death at Nice, France, and was buried there in the English cemetery on November 20, 1847.
Thou on my head in early youth didst smile; And, though rebellious and perverse meanwhile, Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee, On to the close, O Lord, abide with me. I need Thy presence every passing hour. What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
Lyte is said to have written this text along with his own tune shortly before his last Sunday at the Lower Brixham Church. It never became widely used in England until it was first published in a book, Lyte's Remains, in 1850, London.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me. Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. Henry Francis Lyte - Lyrics 1793-1847
For the last sermon with his poor parishioners on September 4, 1847,it is recorded that Lyte nearly had to crawl to the pulpit and his message came as from a dying man.
William Henry Monk - Composer 1823-1889
Its first appearance in America was in Henry Ward Beecher's Plymouth Collection in 1855 with the notation that "this hymn was meant to be read and not sung." Later it was discovered by William Henry Monk, music editor of the well-known Anglican Church hymnal, Hymns Ancient and Modern, and it was included in the first edition of that hymnal published in 1861. Altogether William Monk personally contributed fifty original tunes for the hymnal. It is said that in less than half an hour he composed for Lyte's text a tune named "Eventide." He was inspired by the beauty of a glorious sunset while yet experiencing a deep personal sorrow. In addition to his work as editor of this hymnal, considered by hymnologists to be one of the most important hymnals ever published, William Monk was also choir director and organist at King's College, London. William H. Monk also supplied the music for the hymn, "Look, Ye Saints! The Sight Is Glorious" and "The Strife Is O'er". Henry Lyte's text for this hymn was taken from the account of Christ's appearance with the two disciples on the way to Emmaus and their statement, "Abide
with us: for it is toward evening and the day is far spent" (Luke 24:29).
Born: June 1, 1793, Ednam, Scotland. Born: March 16, 1823, London, England. Died: November 20, 1847, Nice, France. Died: March 1, 1889, London, England. Buried: English Cemetery, Nice, France. Buried: Highgate Cemetery, London, England.
Although Lyte did not write a great quantity of hymns, others from his pen include "Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken"

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Abide with me BIBLE REFERENCES:
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.. Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Daniel 3:23-29 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:2 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:4-11

About Diabetes Mellitus
DIABETES MELLITUS ( ENGLISH )
DIABETES MELLITUS ( SPANISH )
Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that is characterized by increased in blood sugar but before we talked about diabetes, we should talk about an organ called pancreas that regulated blood sugar. The pancreas is an organ localized near the duodenum (first por on of the small intes ne), and it has two func ons: one of the func ons is to secret enzyme that help in the diges on of food. The head of the pancreas is the one in charge of the diges on. The second func on is related to the body of the pancreas where there are beta cells that secrete insulin which introduced the sugar inside the cell and bring blood sugar down. Also in the body of the pancreas we have the Alfa cells which secrete glucagon that brings the blood sugar up. A balanced between this two hormones determined that blood sugar is under control.
There are two types of Diabetes:
Hay dos pos de Diabetes:
A) Diabetes Mellitus type I which is seen in young people, even children in which pancreas doesn’t secrete insulin and blood sugar goes up what happen here is the an body form against the beta cell of the pancreas and this cells are destroyed and no longer secrete insulin causing an increased in blood sugar.
A) Diabetes Mellitus po I.
B) Diabetes Mellitus type II appears when the pancreas produced insulin but the receptor of the cells doesn’t respond to that insulin and blood sugar cannot get inside the cell and as a consequence blood sugar increased in blood. Diabetes mellitus is more common in Hispanic and Afro-American. Normal fast blood sugar should be below 100 mg /dl. In fas ng blood sugar between 100 to 160 is considered pre diabetes that means that you don’t have diabetes now but if you don’t take care of yourself you will develop diabetes later in life. A fas ng blood sugar above 126 is considered Diabetes mellitus. A postprandial (aGer ea ng) blood sugar of more than 160 is suspicions of Diabetes mellitus. A blood sugar of 200 or more aGer ea ng is considered Diabetes. The symptoms of Diabetes mellitus included polydipsia (very thirsty) polyuria (Urinated a lot) and polyphagia (eat too much). The complica on of Diabetes may include blindness, Kidney failure to the point that pa ent might need dialysis and transplant of the kidney, heart a"ack , stroke and amputa on of the leg due to gangrene.
Treatment include: Diet, exercise, and medica on.
Las complicaciones de la Diabetes incluyen ceguera, fallo renal que llega al punto de diálisis y trasplante de riñón, ataque cardiaco, ataque cerebro vascular, y gangrena que lleva a la amputación de la pierna.
Remember Diabetes Kill. Health is a giG of God so please take care of your health.
Tratamiento incluye dieta, ejercicio, y medicamento. Recuerde que la Diabetes mata. La salud es un regalo de Dios cuídela.

Legal Life Lessons BIZ Legal Contract Term EXPLORED: “Time is of the Essence” Language
Business Legal Tip for this Month Should I SETTLE my case? This is a hard question for any good attorney to answer. The answer depends on YOU ---
Intro/Definition Time is of the essence” language in a contract means that the parties to the contract MUST strictly comply with the time requirements indicated in the contract if delay would cause material harm to the other side.If the contract says that 200 widgets must be delivered on January 1st, showing up on January 2nd is a breach of contract.
only you know your personal and financial situation. Although it is noteworthy to litigate the merits of a case based on principle, sometimes it doesn't
You may be asking “Uuumm…isn’t showing up on January 2nd a breach of contract anyway?” Technically it is but Courts generally will only look at material breaches to award damages; that’s not a material breach. By adding this “time is of the essence” language, this MAKES the January 2nd delivery date a material breach.
Attorney Dar’shun Kendrick,
make economic sense (because of the fees and costs) to continue to litigate a case. This is why SOMETIMES we see celebrities SETTLE a case---not because they are guilty, but because it doesn't make economic
There are a few points to consider and be aware of whenever you seen “time is of the essence” language.
sense to continue. (Well known examples are Michael Jackson's child abuse scandal and Bishop Eddie Long's recent settlement to
Points to Consider
some young men).
1.“Reasonable time” language vs. “Time is of the Essence” Language- “Reasonable Time” language in an agreement allows for a delay in performing on either side (for example, delay in a construction project because of bad weather) whereas “time is of the essence” language is not based on reason; all that is needed is material harm to the other party for there to be a breach. 2. Waiver of Provision- If you suspect that you will not be able to perform your part of the contract by the time stated, try to get a written waiver of this provision; a verbal waiver most likely won’t do”. 3. Specificity- “Time is of the essence” language means nothing if there are no specific times and dates to abide by. The more specific the language (such as including a specific time and time zone), the easier and more willing the Courts will be to enforce these specific provisions.
In Georgia… Parties can WAIVE “time is of the essence” language by their conduct. For example, if Co. A and Co. Z enter into an agreement by which Co. A will provide 200 widgets to Co. Z, 100 by September 1 and 100 by December 1, if Co. A provides 100 widgets by Sept. 15th (15 days after the Sept. 1st date) and Co. Z doesn’t object in writing, it would have been deemed that the “time is of the essence” language is WAIVED in its entirety. Therefore, a Court could hold that there is no material breach of the contract by failing to provide the widgets until 15 days after the required date. Furthermore, Co. Z cannot later complain if the remaining 100 widgets are delivered on Dec. 10th, 10 days after the 2nd delivery date of December 1st.
General Advice This “time is of the essence” language can be a catch 22. If there is this strict language that binds one party, more than likely it will bind you as well and failure to strictly comply with the time restrictions in the least bit could leave you in breach of a contract. Seek competent counsel to advise if placing this type of language in your specific business contract is prudent. DISCUSSION QUESTION: What did you originally think “>me is of the essence” meant before reading this ar>cle?

CALL US TODAY
22 www.acumenbusinessmag.com Acumen Business Pages Edi-on 7 October 2012
It might take this phone call to decide whether they are viable prospects or not, and to move prospects back into your pipeline if they are not viable today. Without the call, you could be expending your efforts on the wrong people at the wrong time, resulting in frustration, no sales and even a bad reputation!
. They Are Busy; Call Them! In this article I share with you a
So that's it; very simple, yet very effective. Pick up your phone and call all pending prospects a.k.a. “low hanging fruit,” since they are just about ripe for the plucking!
"More Clients, More Money" tip that can greatly increase your client base and revenue, so pay close attention and take immediate action!
And what happens when you let ripe fruit “fall” by itself? It gets bruised and is in no condition to be eaten.
Here is the tip: “Pick up the phone and call all pending prospects!”
Do not let your prospects “get bruised” or snapped up by your more proactive competitors!
That's it! Call all your pending prospects and help them make a decision. Your pending prospects are those whom you have had selling conversations with about your products or services, who have not yet bought from you.
Now, this will only work if you take action! So stop second guessing and get to work. Create your list of PENDING PROSPECTS today and start calling this week!
"Won't I be bothering them?" you ask. Not if you have done your marketing correctly. In which case they will be expecting to hear from you!
Remember that your insights and feedback are warmly welcome.
When you call, ask if this is a good time to talk. Then talk if it is, or reschedule if it is not.
They Are Busy;
Do write in and share!
Call Them! Next, make them a very juicy, irresistible offer and say it expires in 7 days. Go over the returns you will deliver on their investment, so they see the value you offer. Then ask for a decision. If you get a YES, great! If you get a NOT NOW, ask to schedule a follow up call and in the mean time keep building the relationship. If you get a NO, ask to stay in touch, stay abreast with their developments and watch or a new opportunity to solve other problems for them. Most importantly, USE YOUR PHONE! If you do not, your competitors will! Your prospects are very likely busy people and may never call you, even if they need you. So when you call them, you are actually being helpful! You are helping them overcome procrastination and indecision and to either work with you or not. But it is important to GET A DECISION and not leave things pending, so you can allocate your time and resources to your viable prospects.

Your Business Image:
Do yourself and your customers a favor by staying informed about your business always!
What It Says About You and Your Business.
Make it look good.
Written by Nina Ijere-Otuka Your business image starts with you and it’s been said that image is indeed everything when it comes to business. Business Image is what people think when they think about you or your business. The word did not originate from a public rela ons ďŹ rm and your business image is more of your business than that of your public rela ons company. Should you have one: it’s a reec on of what you do and how you do it when you do it. From your business card to your handshake, your aQre, communica on, posture‌ Daniel J. Boors n said it so well, “An image is not simply a trademark, a design, a slogan, or an easily remembered story. It is a studiously craGed personality proďŹ le of an individual, ins tu on, corpora on, product or service.â€? A good percentage of your business success is projec on and the success of your business is dependent on the image that you project. A business goal is to a"ract clients and grow customer base along with its bo"om- line – the money, hence the need to project an image that a"racts poten al customers and retains exis ng ones, rather than repel them. Here are some things to consider when about business image:
Dress to impress. People are quick to take others at face value believing that what they see is what they’ll get. First impression ma"er a lot and should not be taken for granted, especially of ďŹ rst mee ngs. I never forget an encounter that I had recently, while at the hair Looking successful is de initely salon.A lady walked into the salon promo ng some food that necessary to be successful‌. she had for sale in the car – She was a food vendor. I couldn’t help but turn to have a second look at her. Not only was she looking tacky in her dressing, her hair was un dy with no makeup, needless to say that no one bought a thing from her and when she walked out, one of the stylists said, “Gosh, I’d never buy anything from someone looking like that.â€? Looking successful is deďŹ nitely necessary to be successful as a result, you gain customer trust which could result in a poten al sale, and suďŹƒce it to say that a successful image leads to increased sales!
Know your product. When it comes to business image, details ma"er a lot. Not only does it build customer conďŹ dence, it also tells your customer that you care enough to pay a"en on to details. Have you ever met a person who tries to sell something that they are not knowledgeable about? What was your ďŹ rst reac on? It’s a customer turn o when you do not know in details about a brand or product/ service that you profess to provide. As a business person, it is important to iden fy key characteris cs of your product or service and then highligh ng them. Your customers want to see you as a very knowledgeable about your business by providing expert informa on. It’s very easy to run an obsolete business especially when you are not making any eort to stay updated with the market trends.
www.acumenbusinessmag.com
Be it your company website, logo, brochure, be sure to create a professional look and feel that suits your business. In addi on to lending credibility to your business, it must invite customers in. Your website should be one that is easy to navigate and should have a clear message of what your business is about. Rather than look tacky, do seek the service of a professional in the process of branding your business.
Carry your employees along. This is one major thing for business person that have employees. It is impera ve that your employees speak the same “languageâ€? as you when it comes to your company image. They have to buy into your vision and love their job enough to represent the business conďŹ dently. When this happens, the employees will keep the business image alive everywhere they go; when dealing with customers and even selling the image of the company to their family and friends. There is a local mom & pop shop that I go to occasionally, the last me I went there, they had moved to a bigger space across the street and as soon as I worked in I heard, “Hello! Good Morning!â€? I was a bit startled as I wasn’t expec ng it, but when I heard her say the same thing to other customers walking in, I realized this could be a new “tradi on.â€? It sure felt good and welcoming and I hope it’s not just a new loca on “feverâ€? but that they keep it up. Nowadays, there are lots of educated consumers who have many choices when it comes to whom to do business with that a business image is exceedingly important to customers. While the goal of it is to a"ract new customers, it is also determines whether or not the customer will return to you in the future. I’m a ďŹ rm believer that while I am excited about my ďŹ rst business with a customer, I’m even more excited when the customer returns in the future. Customers will leave you for a lot of reasons and this can be easily avoided when you an cipate your customers needs. Know what they want and give them exactly that. To keep your image alive with your customers, remember to periodically talk about your image to them.
