3. Build Something Worth Defending
1. Stick to the Truth
Every pastor has the responsibility to know the truth and preach the truth. Jesus told Peter in John 21:17, “feed my sheep.” Understanding the truth in this time is critical. A quick study of the Bible would suggest that, indeed, homosexuality is Why do we expect the United States of America to be a a sin. Between God’s creation in Eden and Paul’s comments in Christian nation? This idea might seem revolutionary, but consider it: Romans 1, the argument is sound.
4. Recognize Our Place
“Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. And for the people who point to Jesus’ silence on the matter, consider Mark 10:1-12. Here Jesus is talking about divorce, but he only refers to marriage as a union between a man and his wife. Therefore, apply what I learned as a child: when the crowd goes the wrong way, go against the crowd.

5. Pray The importance of prayer cannot be overstated. There are so many things that we must pray for that I can’t even list them all here. Not only because we feel the need to but we are told to from the Word, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” - Philippians 4:6 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” - Ephesians 6:18 Prayer has power to do incredible things in our lives and in the world around us. As we see this gathering darkness in the world, prayer is the key to unleashing the light.

Is YOUR
BUSINESS CARD
MAKING
Seven (7) Tips to make your business card memorable..& make money... The primary purpose of your business card design is to make you memorable and make money for you. When you hand out your business card, if your prospect actually keeps your card, remembers they have it, and uses it later, you've got a winner. Your business card is memorable and you have made your business desirable to the recipient. And you will make money Here are 7 ps to make your business card memorable: INCLUDE ONLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Keep your business card very simple. Let it have the most important informa on that will get the recipient to be able to a. know who you are b. Know what you do and c. Know how to contact you if they need you, your products or your services. Anything more than this will make you lose the a en on of the recipient due to informa on overload. 2. USE CLEAR & BOLD FONTS: Keep the text on your card simple and straighRorward. Clear and bold enough to read without the recipient squin ng or trying to make out what is wri en. Do not use any funky, cursive or fancy fonts that will make your card difficult to read.
MONEY
FOR
YOU?
3.LEAVE WRITING SPACE ON YOUR CARD: Remember to leave some space on your card for the recipient to be able to jot a memory trigger or note about his/her mee ng with you to remind him/her how to connect with you in future. Do not cover every area on your card with design and full color text or make your card high gloss on both sides that will prevent this. 4. GET YOUR CARD PROFESSIONALLY PRINTED: Handing out a professionally printed card tells the recipient that you care about your business and have taken me to invest on your business card. While you can save a considerable amount of money if you print your card yourself on an inkjet printer with perforated business card paper (and also be able to update in case of any changes) nothing beats the first me corporate image and impression with a new acquaintance like handing out a professionally designed business card. 5.CREATE YOUR BUSINESS CARD TO SUITE YOUR BUSINESS: Carefully create your business card to suite your business and make an impression on the recipient. If you design on both sides of the card then make both sides complement your business. If you are engaged in 2 different businesses, you may be tempted to put the 2 businesses on either side of the card. Con nued on Pg 14

STOP Playing the
You know you need to promote yourself more, raise your rates or step up and play bigger in some way. But instead you are waiting till you: • Are more well known; • Have more qualifications; • Earn more money; • Have more experience; • Have served more clients; • Have appeared in the media.
WAITING
GAME
Only then, you promise yourself, will you promote your business, charge more, write a book, and speak at events or whatever it is you dream of doing. Then you keep on acquiring qualifications, buying bells and whistles, marking future launch dates in your calendar and generally hiding under the cover of procrastination. More; more; more! Somehow, what you have or where you are is never enough. And it never will be, I can assure you. If this describes you, you are playing The Waiting Game. Deep beneath this game is some form of self-sabotage; some fear of moving forward. In some shape or form, there is a payoff to you for holding back. You perceive some kind of secret benefit for staying where you are and those stories you tell are just excuses. Could it be that staying small “pays” you right now because you fear the responsibilities of success? Do you fear becoming seen and known because then you would be under public scrutiny? Or perhaps you hold back because you fear you could fail and then be subject to ridicule. I have known all of these fears and doubts. But a time came when the attraction of success became stronger than the comfort zone of failure. The strong pull of progress overcame the selfcentred desire to hide out. I began taking steps forward in spite of my perceived inadequacies. www.acumenbusinessmag.com
And the more I stepped forward, the easier it became, the quieter became the nagging doubts and naysayers and the stronger I felt. Till I was no longer afraid of failing, of what people might say or whatever success might hold. Today, I have a clearly defined purpose and mission and no fear can hold me back from reaching for it! I write this to encourage you today to stop playing The Waiting Game. Stop waiting till you have a perfect web site, till you have written a book, till you have a PhD or a six figure income or till you feel like an expert. Step forward with what you have. You are enough as you are or the dream would not be in your heart. • Let us not remain in denial. In what way are you playing The Waiting Game? What stories (excuses) are you telling yourself and others? • What has been the payoff to you for hiding out and holding off on your progress? • What would be the payoff to you if you succeeded? • Which would you rather have; the rewards of success or failure? Play The Waiting Game and stick with failure. Take a step forward each day and move closer to success! • What actions will you take this week to break free of The Waiting Game? What stories will you stop telling yourself? Write this down and commit to it. Get an accountability partner to hold you to it. Remember to write in and share your journey and challenges with me. I would love to cheer You on!

Why are there so many churches in America, but our country's morals are going in the wrong direc on? Here's why … 1) We don't agree on what the Word says, from large issues like homosexual and abor on, to small issues like should women wear open toe shoes or what type of instruments can be used during praise and worship. 2) A lot of churches have lost their light and have go en caught up in focusing more on social and community building programs than preaching Jesus and teaching the Word. While other churches are trying to blend in with the world to gain their respect instead of God's. 3) We can not agree on who to vote for. Half are democrats and the other half republicans. And each half believe the other half aren't real Chris ans and are going to hell.

4) We are segregated by race. Black folks don't want to go to church with white folks and white folks don't want to go church with black folks. (If they did want to worship together, then we would have thousands of mul -race churches instead of only a few.) And every race has their own church: Asian Church, Hispanic Church, Irish Church, etc... Jesus said Mark 3:25 KJV [25] And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And we the church is truly divided, therefore, we lack the power to mold America into a be er moral society. (And the funny part is that we probably can't agree on what those morals should be.) Amos Johnson Jr, PhD helps Chris ans develop their Godinspired business because he strongly believes that financial prosperity comes through faith in God and star ng your own business. produce and hard to store by the recipient in the regular business card album or rolodex. If your business offers an excep onal product or service, coupled with outstanding customer service, you'll grow just fine with more tradi onal, professionally printed business cards. 7. TELL YOUR RECIPIENT WHAT TO DO: You must include a call to ac on on your business card. You want to tell your recipient what to do with the informa on on your business card. When your recipient picks up your card again there needs to be a call to ac on that they can respond to. So either tell them why they need your products or services or that they need to call or contact you when they need your service or product. When they actually do then you have succeeded in making your card memorable and your business card will then bring you money!

HOWNOT TO Let YOUR MONEY MANAGE "I make enough Money! But why am I always broke?!"
YOU!
- Tarra Jackson
.. Have you or someone you know asked this ques on? Well, I have! This is a common ques on that I am asked by people I coach. The answer is Cash Flow Management! Many of us are managed by our Money instead of Us Managing our Money. So for those who make good money but feel like it is never enough, here are 3 Quick Tips. Quick TIP #1: WRITE IT OUT!!! Write down ALL of your Income and ALL of your Expenses. This is important so you can see what you are really working with. Quick Tip #2: BREAK IT DOWN!!! Break out your Expenses in three (3) categories: Required Fixed Expenses - These are expenses that have the same amount due every month Housing, Transporta on, Installment Loan Payments, etc.); Required Flexible Expenses : These are expenses where the amount due may change every month (U li es, Credit Card Payments, etc.); and Other Flexible Expenses: These are expenses where the amount due may change every month and can be eliminated, if necessary (Ea ng Out, Clothes Shopping, Hair Salon/Barber, etc.). Make the necessary changes to Other Flexible Expenses by reducing or modifying spending on those expenses. Quick Tip #3: MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! Make small but impacRul changes to your Spending Habits. If you stop spending cold turkey on things you like, you may feel deprived and be easily tempted to splurge haphazardly. This may set back your new Spending Plan or Budget.
