Oakland is one of the most diverse cities in the US. Also, p e o p l e w h o l i v e n ea r d o w n to w n O a k l a n d h a s a va r i e d range of race, age, and income. Also, Oakland claims the city is the highest concentration of artists. The galleries are scattered all over Oakland, especially around Broadway. Since 2006, Oakland Art Murmur (OAM) has connected the artists and visitors. OAM and many galleries often h o l d a va r i et y o f d i f f e r e n t p r o g ra m s t h a t s u cce s s fu l l y attract visitors and Oakland residents. In addition, at various times, walking in the nearby neighborhood can also see many street art on the buildingâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s exterior wall and even the electric box. Walking in the city can clearly feel that Oakland is indeed a city of art gathering.

Concept Development

Target User The hotel will primarily ser ve business guests, but some tourists are expected as well. The business guests will come for the conferences, which is located in the office building around downtown Oakland. The secondar y tourists will be the art lover, who come for the art event or want to know about Oaklandâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s art and culture.

The hotel is located in the Oakland downtown and primar y ser vice the business guests who come for the conferences or trade exhibition. Also, some tourists attending the art events because the street of Oakland is filled with the murals and art events holding by their government , those making the city itself like an art museum.

The idea is to bring the hotel into the part of this city museum, and the concept of the hotel is inspired by the Art Laboratory, which is combined with the idea of Oaklandâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s street art and the innovative laboratory. In addition, the d y n a mi c a n d b o l d a t mo s p h e re in t he ho tel w ill inspire people to explore every corner.

The Art Laboratory would have space with a neutral background and a bold element pop up there. Also, using pure color scheme and technical element , such as installing the interactive art, to reference the laboratory.

Confluence Park is a new community center in the Rose City Park district . The center has

space for the neighbors of the district. The new refugee population comes to Portland from different countries around the world. In the Confluence Park, there are the classrooms, a community room, a computer lab, and a cafe for the guests. Also, the community center has a social service office for people that need help, and residential units for refugees population.

Confluence Park is a place which supports everyone who comes from different families and countries around the world. Everyone who comes here can get the help needed and the com-

munication with each other.

Both refugees and Rose City Park neighbors are the users of this community center, and the center will be a place that provides all the user communicate with each other. The center gives the users space for activity, such as a playground for the child and exercise for the adult. Also, though the various class and activity, people can talk to each other, and this is an opportunity for the refugees know the America culture and people. They can get into the new life here faster.

The confluence is the concept of the community center. This community center is a place to gather both the Rose City Park neighbors and the refugees who live in the center. The Concept of confluence is a metaphor by the circulation of space. Also, the refugees from the world they might live together and share their life. Thus, there is a comfort social place for every visitor, they flow and interweave in this community center.

Dr. Rockefeller Medical Office

to open a small family medical practice in Little River County, Arkansas. The town of Winthrop has agreed to allow the small medical firm to use half of the lower portion of the old elementar y school, now converted to a museum, at 530 Spring Street. The school is listed on the Arkansas list of Historic Places. Dr. Rockefeller is returning to her Missouri roots where she hopes that she can assist the communities in the small towns within driving distance of Winthrop. Moreover, little River County is a small town, and the cityâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s population is decreasing. Also, Little River County is an agricultural town. Farm-scape will be convinced from the floor

pattern to furniture choice.

Based on my concept, space will create a warm, bright and comfortable for the patients. In color, the warm and Earth tone gives patients the familiarity of farmland when they enter the clinic. In the material, it will be used to metaphor the farm feeling, such as weave linen. Even though the most o f co l o r a n d m a te r i a l s a re re l a te d to t h e n a t u ra l w o r l d , the element will be used by the modern and contemporary ways.

Sugar Addict is a new handmade dessert shop, a small studio, there is no gorgeous decoration like the dessert made out of natural no additives. Dessert chef hand-made. Al though it is hand-crafted, but every process as stress. Both delicious and healthy.

Making Christmas and New Year cards is something I do fixedly every year. The Internet is growing, although convenient, but the relationship between people is not close to that before. We usually use the Internet and telephone contact , but I will have at least once a year to design a card and then write the whole year to thank and send or hand to friends and family hands.
