Greece In, Greece Out It is not about the usual summer song or vacation chorus but the alternating continuous news on Greece. In or out? Too much rumor, too much ink is wasted for a situation whose fate, with the numbers at hand, was already written in 2010. The markets didn’t know, the investors didn’t know, Europe didn’t know. No one knew a thing! No one knew that Greece had been struggling for years and that financing a banking system, the Greek one, already owing money to Europe but, most importantly, a country deprived of a growth and development-oriented policy, was like handing money to someone who you knew in advance would have to ask you for more money to pay its debt. It may be due to my “street” education but when someone tries to force us to look in a direction, I look the opposite way—where the real fact is most likely to be occurring. And Greece, in my opinion, is the smokescreen, the loud noise that confuses you and prevents you from thinking about what is really happening. What are the real goals of Europe? What are the countries to which “German Europe” is aiming? Certainly not Greece, a pre-designed victim for quite some years. Maybe Austria? Or maybe Spain? Why not Italy itself? Italy scares German Europe, Italy with its minds, arts, creativity, resources and energy that many other countries can only imagine. Italy, the coffer of European culture, is saved by its unbreakable lock: the Italian Constitution. This is our strength as well as our Achilles’ heel. And this is what they are trying to destroy, modify, water. If German Europe could manage to change our Constitution, Italy would be just like all other European countries, with the risk of having to face worse conditions than Greece. I have always believed in a united Europe. A Europe made of common minds, cultures and traditions that are apt to create a global and unitary development. The new wars are not fought with tanks but with currencies, bonds and finance. Are we on the edge on a new invasion? I am sorry to say it, but I believe so. A “Finance-Economic” invasion that will force us to Mario Conti be one of the many colonies of this tyranny called Editorial Director Europe. I am not letting them scare me. We are mc@livingadamis.com not letting them scare us. @ mrconti000 Wake up Italian people; wake up Italy.

Whether the holiday destination is the seaside, at the mountains, on a desert island or simply in a city, there are some “must haves” that cannot be missing in one’s trolley. Let’s start from the bottom, the shoes: a flat sandal embellished by some jewels will save you on any occasion both during the day, matched with a pair of shorts and a casual white t-shirt, and at night, with a little black dress or a black jumpsuit.

hirt is the ultimate male item. However, in a period where the fight for gender identity is more and more passionate, fashion has its say too, transferring traditionally male items into women’s wardrobe. And, if the introduction of skirts in the men’s wardrobe has never been particularly successful (from Jean Paul Gaultier to Riccardo Tisci), shirts have been welcomed in the female one. Obviously fashion has to renew traditions and transform items into something different from what they are: so it happens that by lengthening the hem and embellishing the fabric with embroideries, the item that had to be a plain shirt becomes a very chic smock or even a dress. The variants of the pinafore, the dress which is usually without sleeves and has a large necklace inspired to the male shirt, are infinite: from the chic and virginal one by Alberta Ferretti to the geometric one by MSGM; from the richly decorated one by Blumarine and Louis Vuitton to the classical one by Dolce&Gabbana.

The possibilities and combinations are many: it is possible to mix colors choosing the same fabric as Burberry and Uma Wang have done, or, alternatively, to combine in an original and eccentric way different patterns following the example of Roberto Cavalli or Stella Jean. The most popular and, almost always, most successful mix and match technique is the one that mixes up different colors and fabrics as shown on the runways of Ermanno Scervino, Louis Vuitton and Versace, who opted for combining different shapes, from squares to circles. It is even possible to mix and match seasons, as Gucci teaches us: it has added fur of long hairs

FOURQUETTE a concrete application of the “Hope Theory”

by Lara Tommasetta

Young people, crushed by the present but capable to project in the future, and older people tied to the past

F

acing the labor market today is a rather complex challenge. On top of adversities due to the unfavorable economic context and a labor supply exceeding by far the labor demand, the evergreen dilemma is between following one’s ambitions or choosing a path that increases the likelihood of finding a job. The pool of possibilities shrinks and the choices become more and more forced. Yet, in such a complex context, there are people who challenge everyone and everything in an attempt to pursue a dream—giving a voice to an impulse that begged to be realized. Luana Stramaglia, 28 years old and with a degree in Political Sciences, opened a restaurant in Foggia in December of last year. Why are we telling her story? Because her story is an example of active citizenship, concrete policy, young engagement and, above all, a story of hope. A real social model to be studied and replicated—so interesting to have captured the attention of the Università di Foggia, which is studying the project as a concrete

NEWS

application of Snyder’s “Hope Theory.” The theory summarizes the capability of projecting into the future, and, in this specific case, supports the younger generations that are too crushed by the present, and the older ones, excessively anchored to the past. The project is extremely simple in its definition yet effective at the same time: in 2013 Luana and her sister founded the “Fork in Progress” company and participated and won a regional contest named “Principi Attivi.” The simple idea proves to be successful: create an activity that is socially interesting for both the elderly, too often left to the boredom of empty routine all-the-same days, and the young adults approaching the job market. “An occasion to go back to my homeland, in a not so easy context—as she describes—a solution to employ, in a fun and profitable way, one’s own time and orient the young ones to life, letting them understand how to confront the real world, where shortcuts are not available.” The “Forquette” restaurant collaborates with the Cooking Vocational school of Foggia, allowing students to spend their required traineeship hours in Luana’s restaurant, and with a retirement home, who can participate in the preparation of food, providing their cooking experience and tradition, on top of spending time in a different way, in a warm and friendly environment. “We faced many difficulties” - says Luana – “but we overcame them. It took us a long time to find an adequate location, to obtain licenses, find partners, stick with the 45,000

Euros budget and, above all, managing to explain to Institutions, and not only citizens, our idea.” It is not easy to start a project like that from scratch, especially for someone who has never done anything of this sort before, with a limited budget (25.000 Euros from the Region and the rest from personal savings). It is the people, the network, the real personal connections that worked. The enthusiasm and help of the family, in the even the most unexpected fields, the contribution of associations and single individuals, even strangers, who donated furniture, dishes and cutlery has been fundamental. Luana concludes explaining that the context of a city like Foggia is quite complex. “The average expenditure level is not high and it has been tough to have people understand that our restaurant was not just a simple restaurant but rather a social project, a workshop of ideas and relations able to valorize with modest means the entrepreneurial system of Foggia. We are working in order to apply this prototype in other cities who need to find answers to the high youth unemployment and the elderly reality, a numerous army of people who are often too lonely”.

Gluteoplasty backside woman by Mauro Tarallo

luteoplasty plastic surgery of the gluteus—is an operation that allows modification to the size and reshape of the buttocks, improving the harmony of the body as well as women’s self-confidence. This type of operation was carried out for the first time in the ’90s in Brazil, a place where a “large backside” is very common among women. Gluteoplasty solves a problem that worries many women when choosing their outfit, especially in summer and in a historical period when large backside shapes are considered extremely trendy: the one of buttocks that are not sufficiently well-rounded or are too flabby. During the medical examination, the shape and size of the gluteus are carefully evaluated to identify the most adequate surgical technique. Then explanations will be provided to the patient about the type of implant that will be used or, alternatively, the parts of the body from which the fat will be harvested to be grafted in case of a fill-in to be performed by a lipofilling procedure. The operation is carried out under general anaesthesia and the surgeon makes two incisions a few centimetres long in the upper or lower gluteal region. With time,

HEALTH & FITNESS

Buttocks have an important aesthetic role since they represent the emblem of femininity the two surgical wound scars will be scarcely visible since they will be hidden by the very skin folds in the buttocks. Through these two small incisions, the gluteal implants, which will be either oval or round, are inserted: their shape is chosen according to the physical features of the patient, namely the kind of hips or glutei. The latest prosthesis gives excellent results since they are more anatomic and keep a stable and definite shape. Moreover they are very strong in order to bear the weight of the body when sitting. The plastic surgeon may decide to insert the implants either above, inside or below the gluteal muscles. The operation, which normally lasts 40 minutes, can be completed by liposculpture or lipofilling procedures, transferring fat from other body regions and remodelling the contour of the buttocks. Finally a compressive dressing is applied. Hospitalization is extremely short: the patient will be discharged the day after the operation, and, after a couple of days, he/she will be able to perform any normallife activity and in four weeks’ time even sports activities will be resumed. As far as “side effects” are concerned, we must remember that after gluteoplasty no medical treatment by injections in the gluteal region is allowed in order to prevent any damages to the prosthesis. The result is good and durable but not permanent since it is linked to the physiological aging of the person and to what was performed.

The “Big Booty” is currently very trendy, it is a beauty revolution that has its roots in Brazil, where it is called Bum Bum, which changed the aesthetic parameters of beauty. The Bum Bum has to follow some rules, it needs to be round, big, solid and nicely aligned. Big booties win over model glutei in Brazil, because according to them, beauty lies in abundance.

Despite seeming a simple task, giving a hint of freshness while keeping the home cozy is not a simple task. After all, it takes very little to provide a marine and summer touch to the various rooms, because with the right accessories, in an ideal quantity, even a classical house can look more marine. You need to start from the main pieces of furniture and then add on some details. First of all adorn the entrance, even with just a white wooden mirror that looks a little lived, like the small fishing boats of the small seaside villages or the beach resorts of the ‘60s, can do a lot. Together with the fashion trends for the springsummer 2015, interior colors have been subject to a change too, a change toward the cool shades to be used for walls, objects and furniture. We have been consuming a lot for many years: Italy was the country with the highest consumption level of pasta in the world. Now we have lost this record because

of new diets rich in proteins, the gluten free fashion etc. which have made Italian people forget about pasta. Together with legumes, pasta is one of the best sources of nutrients both in terms of calories and fibers. There are so many ways to cook pasta, that’s why we are going to discover a new recipe with a special thank to Tamara Giorgetti of the blog www.unpezzodellamiamaremma.it.

ingredients 100gr of linguine, 1 kg of clams, 300gr of short-necked clams, 300gr of mussels, 500gr of curled octopus, 1kg of ripe Piccadilly cherry tomatoes, 50ml of extra virgin olive oil, a few cloves of garlic, chili pepper to taste, rock salt, salt to taste

preparation

Soak the clams, the short-necked clams and the mussels for at least one hour to eliminate any possible sand residual. Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them. Put a few spoons of oil in a pan with high sides, two pressed cloves of garlic, the chili pepper and, as soon as they sizzle add the cherry tomatoes, paying attention at keeping the heat high not to reduce them to a mush. Take them out of the pan and put them aside. Wash the clams, the short-necked clams and the mussels accurately; then separate the clams from the short-necked clams and the mussels. them completely. Wash the clams with the same accuracy and brown them with oil and garlic, add a glass of white wine and keep on with the cooking for ten minutes if they are small. Put some water to boil, 1 liter for each hectogram of pasta, and when it starts boiling add a handful of rock salt, put the linguine in the pot and let them cook for the set time. Once they are ready, do not train them but help yourself with a slotted spaghetti spoon, in order to keep some of the cooking water, and put them in the pan with the cherry tomatoes; stir them nicely and then add short-necked clams, mussels and clams.
