Apply for Medicaid There are two basic ways to apply for Medicaid. 1. The quickest and easiest way for Adams County residents is to complete a PEAK application online and submit it electronically. Simply click on this link and you will be guided through the application process:
colorado.gov/PEAK 2. You can also apply by calling 1.800.221.3943. Your application will be taken over the phone. If I am denied Medicaid, where can I get health insurance? You must first apply through PEAK and be denied for Medicaid before you can apply for cost-savings through the Health Insurance Marketplace. For those who do not qualify for Medicaid, Connect for Health Colorado will be the online marketplace where families or individuals can shop for private health insurance. They can also see if they qualify for federal cost-savings programs that help lower the cost of monthly premiums, copays or deductibles. The open enrollment period runs Oct. 1, 2013 March 30, 2014.
