Visualisation (See Right)
Concealing pockets of space interact with the street edge through transitional points, characterised by inclining steps and sheltering beams casting bold shadows. Attention is drawn towards the water feature, acting as a focal point for encouraging people venture within the space. Upon entering the user is submersed in the tranquil ambience of white noise created by the waterfall, elevating the sense of leaving the city centre and entering a distinct space. Enclosing cafes and Restaurants occupy the space with movable outdoor seating, allowing users to control how and where they sit in the area. Areas of settlement are determined by the elevated canopy of trees, forming pockets of bright and comfortable enclosures between the trunks for seating. A glimpse preview of what lies beyond the buildings heightens anticipation, encouraging movement through the space and out into the unfolding site.
Leaving the concealed niche space, users enter an area of substantial spatial volume, a dramatic change signalling the unfolding essence of the landscape. Transitional beams appear to float above semi-concealed spaces, echoing the character of the former concealing space while framing views across the cascading landscape. A mass of low-lying shrubs and herbaceous perennials display vigorous colour, texture and form, accentuating the unfolding nature, while providing privacy in a seated position. Walls of trees canopies imitate the concealing nature of the previous building forms, but with increased permeability, allowing distant views to unfold.

CONCEALED AREA
Upon arrival to the water’s edge the landscape views unfold, as the landscape settles into a state of purity and calmness, free from restraints. A bold pergola structure signifies arrival to the end destination; providing shelter for framing views out towards the River Confluence, Blonk Bridge and beyond. Steps down to the river and sheaf allow users to visually and actively engage with the water along a river walk, which borders the lenght of the River Don and Sheaf. Decks extend out into the water, immersing users in an experiential display of historic architecture; indulged in a blanket of reedbeds, producing a majestic motion and tranquil life to the river.
