13-15 OCTOBER 2016 SAINT PETERSBURG (RUSSIA) 11TH EDITION

EDITORIAL A STEP FORWARD After two years in beautiful Seville, EuBea Festival lands in one of the most stunning cities in the world: Saint Petersburg. With its art and its culture, this city is a veritable open-air museum and an ideal destination for events. Having established itself within the world economy, Russia is also a growing market with regard to the event industry, calling for positive stimuli to develop even more heartily. In this sense, thanks to the partnership with Live Group, the International Festival of Events offers a unique opportunity to develop the culture of live communication. Between October 12th and 15th, Saint Petersburg thus becomes the European capital of events. ‘Inspire, Empower, Succeed’ is the motto that perfectly sums up the objective of the festival: to provide new and unexpected insights that can result in solutions to succeed in increasingly dynamic and competitive markets. EuBea Festival represents the most important international platform that connects the world of companies, agencies and service providers. The prestigious Erarta Museum will host the live presentation of shortlisted projects, assessed by a Jury of expert corporate clients, and will offer a rich content programme suggested by illustrious international speakers and professionals. The renowned Leningrad Center will celebrate the grand finale, during which the coveted gold, silver and bronze Elephant Awards will be bestowed upon the winners. Finally, an extensive leisure programme, scheduled for Saturday, will enrich the wealth of experience that the Delegates will take back home.

With regard to the award, I would like to highlight that even this year we reached last year’s record levels, with 276 entries from 22 countries. Attending the live presentations is a unique opportunity to learn about the best creativity applied to live communication, the competitive landscape of agencies and the presentation techniques of its leading protagonists. Interaction and networking will be guaranteed by the EuBea app, which I invite you to download on your mobile device. The app will provide you with info and videos of all shortlisted events, give you the chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award and allow you to interact with speakers. I trust that the experience you will have of this event will remain etched in your memory and convince you to follow its evolution. I guarantee that it will not fail to provide ample surprises and important novelties. Happy Festival to all!

LOVE WHAT YOU DO, DO WHAT YOU LOVE Of the past 10 years spent in the event or, to say it better, in the live communication industry, every single project I produced and initiative I launched was aimed towards one precise goal: the industry’s development, by highlighting best and unique practices and bringing together leading experts. After launching a series of educational & networking projects for #eventprofs here in Russia, and following the establishment of the media holding company and international magazine for live com professionals, it was rather an obvious step for me to bring the main European Festival of Events to my home country, and to my hometown in particular. I really expect it to significantly develop the local industry by bringing the expertise, wisdom and results-focused approach that already exists in Europe. It will show my colleagues here that the event industry is a solemn business sphere. I’m also sure that all our international guests will benefit just as much as they gain inspiration from the brilliance, dynamics and energy of a yet young Russian industry. It’s a win-win exchange, which I sincerely hope will lead to building strong business connections between European and Russian industry experts. Following the key themes of the 11th Edition of EuBea – Inspire, Empower, Succeed – it’s rather symbolic that the location is Saint Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia, an incredible city that is pure inspiration itself. The Festival is a unique opportunity to open up the potential of our industry and to strengthen the network of live communication experts from all over Europe. As an organisational partner, we did our best to make this EuBea edition not just an event, but also a once in a lifetime experience for every participant. I’m sincerely thankful to all my team members, who helped us bring the vision and the ideas to life and demonstrate what the Russian event industry can offer to the international community. I’d like to use this opportunity to also thank all partners involved in the preparation of this really complex project. The Festival you all are part of is the result of a long and intensive work carried out by an incredible team of almost a hundred people. We not only put our professionalism and expertise into this project, but also our hearts and souls, believing in the real Nadia Makova power of live communication. General Producer of EuBea 2016 So… enjoy! Best wishes. Founder of Live Communication Group 5

VENUES SAINT PETERSBURG & ITS VENUES Saint Petersburg is the northernmost metropolis in the world. For two centuries it was the capital of the Russian Empire. Throughout this period, its picturesque architecture, created by the most talented architects, made the city an open air museum. Saint Petersburg is renowned as the cultural capital of Russia and can boast a significant track record in holding large-

16

scale business events. It hosted with great success the G8 Summit, the 36th Session of the Unesco World Heritage Committee, the G20 Summit, the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, and many other major events. The modern congress venues and unique historical palaces provide excellent facilities enabling to hold each gathering at its highest.

Erarta Modern Art Museum, the Festival Venue The Erarta Museum is the largest private museum of contemporary art in Russia and represents a compulsory part of any programme designed to explore the culture of Saint Petersburg or Russia. On October 13th and 14th, the Museum will host the EuBea Festival. The museum opened its doors in September 2010. Its collection currently consists of 2,300 works of contemporary art created by more than 250 artists from over 20 regions of Russia, which makes it the biggest Russian art museum that focuses on contemporary art in the entire country. Besides being a museum of fine arts, it has also become a multi-function performance hall with a maximum occupancy of 800, which regularly hosts various events, and a veritable cultural centre which hosts plays, concerts, film screenings, lectures, creative round tables and much much more. Contacts: 2, 29th Line of VasilievskyOstrov - Ph. +7 (812) 324-08-09 www.erarta.com Leningrad Center, the Awards Ceremony Venue The Leningrad Center is the perfect location to host the ‘event of the events’, being the first show space in Eastern Europe created for the high-style entertainment genre. The venue opened in late 2014 in an old mansion near the Taurida Gardens. The four floors of the building house two theater stages, a gallery, music bars and a restaurant. Leningrad Center presents music and theater shows, performances by internationally renowned stars, film screenings and workshops offered by leading arts and media personalities. The Leningrad Center is not only a grand and inspiring venue in the heart of Saint Petersburg, but it is also the out-and-out place to be on October 14th. Here, on a triumphal night, creativity, innovations, effectiveness and best practices will be celebrated during an extraordinary Awards Ceremony. Contacts: 4, Potemkinskayastreet - Ph. +7 (812) 242 99 99 www.leningradcenter.ru Atrium of the Commandant House in Peter and Paul Fortress, the 13th October Dinner Venue The Atrium of Peter and Paul Fortress is situated on the Rabbit Island and was inaugurated on the 300th anniversary of the city of Saint Petersburg, at the expense of the Government of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. After additional repairs, it was reopened on 13th October 2008. Light metal constructions of this amazing historical building faithfully reflect the existing architectural image of the Commandant’s House and provide many opportunities for using the interior space of the yard. Exhibitions, conferences, presentations, banquets, corporate parties and fashion shows can be held here at the highest level. The Atrium of the Commandant House will host a special dinner for all EuBea Delegates on Thursday October 13th. Contacts: Peter and Paul Fortress, 3 - www.spbmuseum.ru 17
