EDITORIAL

TEN YEARS OF US It’s what everybody who loves a hard and challenging undertaking dreams of achieving: reaching a goal that almost everybody else deems impossible. We at ADC Group managed to make that dream come true, and today we are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary edition of the European Best Events Awards within the European Events and Live Communication Festival. 10 years ago few would have bet on EuBea’s success, and to tell the truth, at first the road was all uphill. Starting from scratch with a previously non-existent award, and thus with no possible benchmark, we faced plenty of imaginable obstacles. Nonetheless, year after year, we managed to gain credibility, authority and prestige thanks to an innovative format, our passionate commitment and the certainty that the European events industry deserved its quality recognized. That was our aim in creating a standard reference for the whole market, both agencies and companies which invest in such a modern and contemporary medium, whether one calls it ‘event’ or, even better, ‘live communication’. During these days in Seville we will celebrate this 10th anniversary with numbers that speak for themselves: compared to 2014 we registered a +79% increase in the number of projects entered in the Awards, which means a total of 290 entries compared to last year’s 162, already a record number in itself. At the same time, the number of participating agencies has grown by +52%, shooting up from 80 in 2014 to 122 in 2015, representing today 21 different countries. The innovative formula upon which this success is based is, relatively speaking, very simple: a jury made up of representatives of the most renowned and influential investors in marketing communication who evaluate all events entered in the Awards by specialised agencies. In other words: the demand judges its supply. This meeting of supply and demand is at the heart and foundation of a Festival that, for the second year running, takes place in the capital of Andalusia. The extraordinarily rich program of keynote speakers, exclusive content and leisure activities will facilitate the networking of companies, partners and service providers. A meeting that I’m confident will make your Seville experience a memorable one, and EuBea an unmissable appointment for the next 10 years. Salvatore Sagone President EuBea Festival 5

CONTENT PROGRAM

NOVEMBER 5th - DAY 1 The curtain rises on Thursday morning, with the presentation of ‘live’ events selected from the short list. In ‘X Factor’ style, finalist agencies will have to prove they possess the ‘e’ factor, the Event Factor. In ten minutes they will have to convince the highly qualified international Jury that they are worthy of the award.

The first day of the Festival is structured around the Jury sessions, where shortlisted agencies will present their project(s) live in front of the Corporate Jury, the Press Jury and all the delegates that are admitted to the Jury rooms. There will be three Jury rooms/sessions taking place at the same time as each of the 104 shortlisted projects will have about 10 minutes to explain the brief, the strategic and creative rationale and the execution. At the end of the first day all projects will have received the votes of the juries. The Corporate Jury will meet again on the morning of the second day to establish the top awards. Category awards will be assigned on the first day. In the global competitive arena we live in, where decisions are centralized at headquarters level – which is where, not surprisingly, the members of our international jury come from – by attending the presentations you will be able to personally ascertain the best global creative and production solutions, as well as compare your presentation skills with those of your competitors and, after the voting sessions, meet and forge new relationships.
