Features

To make finding your selection easier, we have created basic ‘feature’ icons that call your attention to the important components built into the shoes and boots throughout this catalog. Below is a key and explanation of each of these symbols.

Steel Toe: Footwear that meets or exceeds the ASTM Standards for compression and impact testing rating of I-75/C-75.

ESD: Electrostatic Dissipative footwear absorbs and neutralizes loose electrons, sending charges into the floor.

Composite Toe: A Non-Metallic Safety Toe for environments where steel is not appropriate. Reduced cold-transfer in cooler environments and meets the ASTM Standards for compression and impact testing rating of I-75/C-75.

Electrical Hazard: Footwear tested by an independent lab that can withstand applications of 18,000 volts at 60hz for one minute without leakage.

Aluminum Toe: Weighs less than steel and meets the ASTM Standards for compression and impact testing rating of I-75/C-75.

Slip Resisting: Soles designed and constructed with materials to provide maximum resistency on slippery conditions.

Carbon Composite Fiber Toe: A Non-Metallic Safety Toe option. Carbon fiber weave reduces toe cap weight while maintaining strength to meet the ASTM Standards for compression and impact testing rating of I-75/C-75.

Insulated: Footwear that provides varying levels of protection against the cold depending on the amount of insulating fabric used.

Metatarsal: Internal Metguards provide flexible protection and increased comfort. Select Carolina styles are also available with an external Metguard. Precision blend of Kevlar para-aramid and carbon fibers provide excellent mechanical and heat resistant properties in the form of technical felt.

Cambrelle™: A textured, rugged fabric lining with good moisture wicking capabilities.

Dri-Lex®: A soft nylon lining with excellent moisture wicking capabilities that is long-wearing and breathable.

Poron Permafresh®: A shock absorbing cushion insole with anti-bacterial protection.

Vibram®: The Vibram®brand is recognized for its high performance soling products used in rugged, outdoor and service footwear. DRYZ®: An innovative insole system that absorbs moisture and molecularly converts it into a dry gel within the insole of the shoe. As a result, the insole absorbs the moisture from perspiration throughout the day, yet remains dry to the touch.

GORE-TEX®: A separate waterproof bootie that fits inside the boot that keeps water and wind out, while letting the foot breathe.

Return Policy Uncompromising quality in every product is the goal of Carolina. It is our intent to evaluate all returned goods with the purpose of fairness in mind. Only those shoes returned for inspection which obviously fall outside the reasonable criteria of defective workmanship and/or materials will be denied credit. Accordingly, all footwear returned for credit will be treated in one of the three ways: 1) Full Credit (Credit will be based on last purchase price unless invoice or PO# is provided.) 2) Half-Credit (Credit will be based on last purchase price unless invoice or PO# is provided.) 3) Zero Credit* (*Zero credit footwear will be returned to sender upon request.) Please include Return Freight Receipt with package to insure proper freight credit.

Stock Returns

To obtain credit for the return of new merchandise, including special orders, the dealer must promptly seek a Return Authorization number (RA#) by contacting Customer Service via the telephone within 30 days of shipping. The RA # must be displayed on the exterior of each carton for proper processing. Failure to do this may result in refusal of the shipment, making the dealer liable for freight charges. A $4.00 per pair restocking fee applies to returns of new non-defective merchandise. If there has been an error in the shipment of goods Customer Service will authorize the return of new merchandise and will issue the dealer an RA #. If the dealer is requesting a return of more than 6 pair of new non-defective product, the request must be made directly to the dealer’s sales representative. Upon receipt of authorized stock returns the dealer will be credited the last purchase price plus, on defective returns, the amount expended on freight. Any footwear purchased at special program or closeout prices will be credited at that amount. If the dealer ships goods to Carolina without first obtaining an RA # from Customer Service the shipment is subject to refusal and will be returned at the dealer’s expense.

Worn/Damaged Goods. In the case of damaged footwear that has been worn, Carolina will credit the dealer’s account with Full Credit (100%), Half-Credit (50%), or No Credit (0%). Please refer to the chart below for descriptions on the three levels. The Quality Control Department of Carolina determines this allowance based on the estimated normal wear (exclusive of defect) remaining in the footwear when returned. Credit will not be allowed for footwear returned if legitimate defects could not be found in workmanship. A letter will then be issued to the dealer stating “no credit.” Worn “no credit” shoes will be destroyed unless the dealer has specifically requested a return at the dealer’s expense.

No Credit (0%) -Sole and or upper showing extensive, excessive or abusive wear -Sole or upper cut, punctured, or showing excessive abrasion and stiff upper, due to leather being wet and dried too rapidly. -Excessive chemical/acid splash or burn -Hard abuse of the product

Half Credit (50%)

-Obvious defects but clearly the boot has been worn for a while

Full Credit (100%)

-Obvious defects showing some wear but in good condition

Footwear not purchased from Carolina Any merchandise received that was not purchased from Carolina will be returned to the dealer and shipping costs will be charged to the dealer’s account.

FREIGHT Reasonable return costs for freight on defective merchandise will be credited if the dealer provides the carrier receipt for the amount expended by the dealer to return. NEW Defective merchandise is subject to return costs for freight (as detailed above) as well as the dealer’s inbound cost per pair of the dealer provides the original order or invoice number on which the defective merchandise was purchased. WORN Defective merchandise is subject to return costs for freight (as detailed above) only.
