To facilitate and advocate for accessibility needs in order to participate in Adelaide Fringe as an Artist, Venue, Audience Member, Volunteer or Staff Member.
ITEM ACTIONS
2.1 Adelaide Fringe will investigate options for and educate artists and venues about funding available to provide accessible provisions for performances and venues.
2.2 Adelaide Fringe will encourage the provision of accessible performance spaces for both Adelaide Fringe and participants.
2.2.1 Adelaide Fringe will promote the provision of accessible venues to audiences.
2.3 Adelaide Fringe will educate venue and performance space operators of the implications of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 in respect to accessibility of venues and performance spaces.

2.4 Adelaide Fringe will establish and maintain relationships with arts organisations working with people with disability to promote the inclusion of their arts projects in the Adelaide Fringe program.
2.5 Adelaide Fringe will ensure that forums, workshops and events organised by Adelaide Fringe are held at venues or spaces that are, or can be made, accessible for individuals with disability.
2.6 Adelaide Fringe will provide and promote Auslan Interpreters at Adelaide Fringe managed events.
2.7 Adelaide Fringe will provide and promote live Audio Description, where appropriate, at Adelaide Fringe managed events.
2.8 Adelaide Fringe will provide and refine an online ticket booking system and telephone ticket sales facility for individuals to purchase tickets to events as an alternative to face to face purchases.

2.9 Adelaide Fringe will provide and refine an online ticket booking system to purchase tickets to events for Companion Card Holders, people with disability and their guests.
2.10 Adelaide Fringe will provide a telephone number for a designated FringeTIX Customer Service Representative for inquiries regarding any access booking including Companion Card bookings.
2.11 Adelaide Fringe will ensure that FringeTIX customer service representatives are appropriately trained to provide assistance with and facilitate access inquiries and ticket bookings.
2.12 Adelaide Fringe will continue to align with the Australian Companion Card Scheme and mandate that each event registered for Adelaide Fringe agrees to participate with the Companion Card Scheme where Companion Card holders can be issued a second ticket for their companion at no charge.

2.13 Adelaide Fringe will promote greater awareness of accessibility issues and opportunities to participants of Adelaide Fringe through artist forums, the professional development series and Artist and Venue Registration (AVR) information hosted on AVR.
2.14 Adelaide Fringe will encourage and guide artists to provide accessible communication services and/or documents at their performances and events in line with best practice standards for accessible communications.
2.15 Adelaide Fringe will conduct an audience survey including customers who have booked using a Companion Card, or have advised that they have access requirements, to ascertain the community’s reaction to Adelaide Fringe Disability Access initiatives, provide suggestions about areas for further improvement and help create awareness.

2.16 Adelaide Fringe will include questions within the annual artist and venue survey to ascertain the community’s reaction to Adelaide Fringe disability access initiatives, provide suggestions about areas for further improvement and help create awareness.
2.17 Adelaide Fringe will investigate awards that celebrate and support emerging and established artists and leaders with disability in the field of art.

2.18 Adelaide Fringe will investigate funding sources to increase the participation of all stakeholders with disability.
2.19 Adelaide Fringe will manage a portfolio of Accessibility Partners to support and advance activities and initiatives undertaken by Adelaide Fringe, to improve accessibility across the organisation.

To enhance accessibility to information regarding Adelaide Fringe events and venues. To improve how Adelaide Fringe communicates, for the purpose of addressing customer’s accessibility requirements, so as to facilitate individuals to safely and independently engage with and attend Adelaide Fringe.

3.1 Adelaide Fringe will continue to provide public information in alternate and accessible formats.
3.1.1 All Adelaide Fringe public documents will be produced in a Plain Text alternate version and hosted publicly on our website.
3.2 Adelaide Fringe will encourage artists and venues to provide public information in multiple accessible formats.
3.2.1 Adelaide Fringe will create (with guidance from industry leaders) and host resources for artists and venues on how to create information in multiple accessible formats.
3.3 Adelaide Fringe website will meet benchmark standards of accessibility, including but not limited to ensuring compatibility with screen reading software and ALT Text best practices.
