Our recently organised Delia School of Canada Navratri Utsav 2018 turned out to be one of the biggest events for Indians and over 1400 Indians turned up and played garba and dandiya till late hours. It was mesmerizing to see so many garba fans dressed in their best traditional wears, surely reminded me of few of the biggest Dandiya nights in Mumbai.

Our Diwali special issue is bundled with a lot of variety in terms of its contents and has several advertisements from Indian enterprises in Hong Kong who want to convey their thanks and best wishes for Diwali to all the Indians reading our magazine. COVER STORY, Archita Bisht, our guest writer has beautifully compared the Chinese Mid-Autumn festival with Diwali, finding out the similarities and the whole purpose of celebrating both festivals with the zest and zeal in both countries and cultures. TECHNOLOGY, talks about the most recent and innovative technology of 3d printing on cars. Talented and world-famous journalist and Editor Chandragupta Amritkar from Global Technologies and Global Destinations magazine insisted that I publish this article, as it’s a very unique way to print anything you want on any shape and part of a vehicle. Can you even imagine you can create some graphics on your computer and snap it on directly on your car? It’s a beautiful technology and innovation at its best. Our new section PHILANTHROPREUNEUR is catching the interest of many entrepreneurs in Hong Kong who are not only doing some great work in their career and business but are also giving back to their society. In this issue, we've interviewed Mr.Raju Sabnani, the man who is on a serious mission. WHILE AGO, covers the recently held Vizag Challenge. The event is my personal favourite event as I got the opportunity to pitch my unique business idea on Dustbin Marketing. Andhra Pradesh government's initiative to visit different parts of the world and bring back some of the best technology businesses to India is highly recommendable and is surely a big step towards making several Smart Cities in our developing nation. I am sure this issue has turned out to be the most commercially viable release for our team, but we've managed to give enough contents to keep you glued till the last page.

It is definitely safe to say that it is not only Indians living in India but also Indians abroad that look forward to this day so they can dress-up in all the ethnic clothing that otherwise rest in the back of our wardrobes. Why shouldn’t similarities in our cultures bring us closer together as humankind? but more than that, it’s the festivals celebrated in India that are often spoken about internationally. Whether it is Diwali or Holi, many foreign cultures have already tweaked and adopted our festival and often look towards us for inspiration and innovation in terms of celebration. Diwali has always been India’s darling when it comes to festivals. In a way, it marks the farewell of the sweltering Indian summer and welcomes the cool autumn breeze. Just like many other festivals in Indian culture, Diwali has its roots in ancient Indian history, wherein; it also has multiple stories of origins. One of the commonly believed tale, links the festival to the day where Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman reached Ayodhya after a period of exile and Rama’s army of good defeated Ravan’s army of evil. Therefore, the triumph of good over evil is a recurring theme in the mythical narration of the origin of Diwali. No matter what version one listens to, one can find commonalities like the lighting of lamps, wearing new clothes, eating traditional foods and most prominently honoring Goddess Lakshmi, the
Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity, Goddess Durga and Goddess Saraswati. The annual 5-day celebration starts 18 days after Dussehra, marking Dhanteras as the first day and Bhai Dooj or Vishwakarma Pooja as the last day, depending upon the region in India. People start cleaning and renovating their homes and workspaces in order to honor and welcome the Goddesses and the gifts of good fortune that they come bearing. Wearing new clothes that sparkle as much as the lights and lamps that adorn the interior and exterior of their homes and exchanging sweets and gifts with near and dear ones has been a Diwali tradition that Indians follow no matter where they live. The Indian
community in Hong Kong is no different than their counterparts in India. They also offer their prayers at the Hindi and Sikh temples located in the city, decorate their homes and exchange gifts and sweets with friends and families. Even though Diwali is about families coming and celebrating together with large feasts, the younger generations often get together with their friends and host card parties. Dubbed as the “Christmas of India”, Diwali brings a reason to shop as customers are offered lucrative deals and sales on everything from electronics to clothing to gold. Shopkeepers are stocked up on a wide range of firecrackers, candles and diyas/oil lamps as well as an extensive collection of lights
that add that extra color and shimmer to the worldfamous festival of lights. As the world remains politically, economically and socially divided, in order to find that silver lining in this chaos, we should look towards cultural similarities to bring us closer together rather than further tearing apart societies. If a festival can bring together families in one country, why shouldn’t similarities in our cultures bring us closer together as humankind? Hong Kong is no different than India when it comes to celebrating festivals. A lot of the culture and traditions focus on getting together and sharing gifts and delicacies with families and friends. One such Hong Kong festival, which is very similar to

What Chinese delicacy was used as a vessel to carry secrets between revolutionaries during the Yuan Dynasty?
Find the answer here. Diwali, is the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also called the the Moon Festival or the Harvest Moon Festival. Traditionally a 3-day event, the festival, which is all about light and colors, bears many similarities to our own festival of light. Families get together, exchange gifts and also feast on traditional delicacies as a part of the festival. Instead of using oil lamps/diyas, the Mid-Autumn festival is all about lanterns of all the possible colors, shapes and sizes, light shows and also fiery dragon dances! Hong Kong also boasts public displays of glorious lanterns and LED displays in all shapes and sizes in different parts of the city, which can be gazed at in wonder and appreciation or be used as funky backgrounds for your selfies. Celebrated on a full moon’s night, the festival is a time when families get together to celebrate the abundance of good harvest and gaze at the full moon. Just like traditional sweets are a classic and irreplaceable part of Diwali, people forget about their strict diets and gorge on traditional mooncakes during the festivities. The mooncakes, which have a history of their own, also happen to be a

classic gift that is shared amongst friends and families. (Fun fact: they were used as a vessel to carry secrets between revolutionaries during the Yuan dynasty.) Besides the history of the mooncakes, just like Diwali, the Mid-Autumn festival also has historical and mythical roots. The most widely accepted being the one about the Moon Goddess, Chang’e, who had to make the sacrifice of leaving her husband and drinking the elixir of immortality just to keep it from falling into the hands of Feng Meng, who had tried to steal the elixir. During the festival, people make offerings of food and drinks to Chang’e in order to pay their respects and giving thanks for their relationships and good fortunes. A popular legend has it that the Goddess blesses her worshippers with beauty. Therefore, in order to make sure that Chang’e blessings don’t go to waste, the lanterns are also used to ensure that she can see her worshippers clearly from the heavens. The festival also consists of a fair share of Fire Dragon dances, which take places in multiple locations across the city with some
dragons measuring over 67 meter long and easily weighing over 50 kilograms. The dance itself dates back to the 19th century and was initially started by the villagers of Tai Hang, to bring them good luck and fortune and to keep catastrophes at bay. After the Fire Dragon restored the well being of the villagers, it became an annual tradition with constant upgrades to the dragon itself. The dragons are as colorful as they come and stocked with burning incense sticks that help to keep away the evil spirits. Besides the glow of the burning incense sticks,
13
some dragons are also filled with firecrackers, which add to the glow and the overall energy during the dance. The dragons, which are also accompanied by the roar of drums and gongs, are carried by as many as 300 performers, between the ages of 16 to 30. Similar to festivals in India, the Mid-Autumn festival is one of the many festivals in the Chinese culture that bring together families and friends and gives people a special occasion to count their blessings and honour the different Gods and Goddesses. Both societies

are heavily cultural and still continue to focus on age-old traditions that involve being thankful for one’s health, wealth and relationships. Both societies have an inclination towards spiritual and family oriented and therefore the festivals are often tied to strengthening family relations and also giving back to each other and those who are less fortunate. As far as the Diwali and the Mid-Autumn festival are concerned, in essence, both are almost identical to each other. Both festivals bring together families and friends. Both involve feasting on and exchanging special, traditional delicacies as a symbol of gratitude and respect. Both communities also offer prayers and honour the Goddesses who were central parts of the mythological stories behind the origin of the two festivals. Both festivals are filled with cheer, light and colour, which can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Additionally, even though Diwali is more heavily focused on fireworks, the Fire Dragons are also often stuffed with fireworks. Even though festivals are a cause for celebration and

Both festivals are notorious for adding to the existing noise, land, water, light and air pollution. they should be celebrated with all the zest and energy, we also need to start caring about our environments. Both festivals are notorious for adding to the existing noise, land, water, light and air pollution. However, Hong Kong seems to be better at handling the repercussions as volunteers and the government itself takes measures to clean up the festival waste. Hong Kong has even replaced the traditional lanterns with reusable and recyclable lanterns to minimize waste. India on the other hand is not so lucky. Around Diwali season, air pollution in big cities often reach unprecedented levels that result in shutting down of schools as even stepping out of the house becomes a health hazard. The country already battles heavy air pollution levels, which are elevated due to the fireworks as well as the increased road traffic around the festivities. The noise pollution is also elevated which causes harm not just to human beings
but also scare the animals. It is time we started using more environmentally friendly ways to celebrate and minimize the waste and pollution produced as a part of our festivals. The proximity and similar histories of the two nations can be considered as one of the factors that make their societies similar to each other, in terms of values and traditions. Both societies focus on building relations through festivities and celebrations and also showing gratitude to their respective deities. Festivals should be a reminder to us that while we are all citizens of different nations, we still belong to the human race, which makes us all the same. There is no such thing as an inferior and or superior human being. If our festivals can bring us closer to our near and dear ones, then why can’t we use them as a tool to mend relations with our
international neighbours? The similarities between our cultures should inspire us to open our mind and eyes to see how borders are simply politically constructed lines. It is no surprise that both nations, who are in the race to become regional super powers have a strained relationship, which is all the more reason why instead of letting these strains divide us socially and politically, we should use our similarities to promoting peace and unity in the region. Lastly, to build relations and promote inclusivity, the Indian community in Hong Kong should actively promote Diwali and invite their local peers to join in on the celebrations. If you don’t already do so, this Diwali, open your home and heart to share the joy and traditions of the festival with them! After all, it is always said, “happiness is only real when shared.”

he recent trend in automobile industry globally has been on driverless vehicles with many companies making huge investments. But thanks to the rapid increase in 3D-printing now tech savvy companies are looking at 3D printed vehicles - a car built out of 3D-printed aluminum joints that snap together. Such a 3D printed vehicle was recently showcased at CES. CES had all types of innovative vehicles electric, autonomous, beta prototypes and tech savvy or advanced. But it was the beautiful red coloured 3D printed vehicle - a one-door/ two-seater supercar called the Blade - that attracted both visitors and media.

With this approach one can build a very strong and very light chassis, and do so while saving energy and generating less pollution. The NODE approach dematerializes and democratizes auto manufacturing, and it enables continuous longterm innovation and adaptation. The current prototype is composite. Since the body is not structural, it could be made from virtually anything – even spandex.
Divergent, the company behind this provides a disruptive new approach to auto manufacturing that incorporates 3D printed joints, which they call as NODE, connecting carbon fiber structural materials that results in an industrial strength chassis that can be assembled in a matter of minutes.
As many of you may be aware the actual manufacturing of vehicles is anything but environmentally friendly. The whole aim is to radically reduce the materials, energy use, pollution and cost of car manufacturing and bring awareness and adoption of cleaner and greener cars. They plan to radically reduced resourceuse and pollution generated by manufacturing; Up to 90% lighter than traditional vehicles with more strength and durability; A stronger, lightweight vehicle means less wear on roads and fewer accident fatalities.
Divergent’s NODE connectors are the key building block we developed to build cars. They are connectors made of a metal alloy and are produced using 3D printers. The NODE connectors in conjunction with carbon fiber structural materials are the key components in building a car chassis.

It was my first chance to see a 3D printed vehicle and I was quite impressed as I saw a remarkable 3D printed ‘Blade’ car and 3D printed ‘Dagger’ motorcycle at CES. The car was displayed as a prototype along with its 3D printed frame.
Chandragupta Amritkar reports from Las Vegas so while saving energy and generating less pollution. It takes less than 30 minutes to assemble the chassis by hand and weighs 630Kg. It can go from 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds and uses a 700 HP, 4-cylinder turbocharged internal combustion engine
fueled by compressed natural gas or gasoline. A standard set up can produce from a few cars up to 10,000 cars per year.

is testing 3D printing of large-scale car parts using the Stratasys Infinite Build 3D printer. Increasingly affordable and efficient, 3D-printing large automotive parts, like spoilers, could benefit Ford’s business and its customers; printed parts can be lighter in weight than traditionally manufactured parts, and may help improve fuel efficiency. 3D printing could bring immense benefits for automotive production, including the ability to produce lighterweight parts that could lead to greater fuel efficiency.

The German engineering design studio EDAG has created a 3D printed car called Light Cocoon. It is truly a visionary lightweight vehicle concept with bionically optimised and additively manufactured (3D print) vehicle structural parts. They combined 3D printing with generative design, inspired by nature. “The realisation that structures with a basic design inspired by nature are simply more stable and weigh less led to a new approach for the design of the EDAG Light Cocoon's outer skin” the

companies official release stated. The skeleton-like, organic vehicle structure is extremely lightweight, uses minimal materials, and meets all static and dynamic component requirements. The outer skin is composed of a high-tech textile, the lightest possible surface material. As a result, the body lighting makes the bionic skeleton visible, and gives rise to impressive light scenarios that can be used for a number of purposes, for example, to greet the driver. The EDAG Light Cocoon demonstrates a way of producing structural vehicle parts that will weigh 30% less than that produced with conventional construction methods.

Electrical Vehicle (XEV) and Shanghai-based Polymaker, a 3D-printing filament manufacturer, are behind the LSEV. Except for its windows, tires and chassis, just about every part of the LSEV is made from polyamide, or nylon. The 950-pound LSEV is made from only 57 parts, whereas a typical car weighs twice as much and has more than 2,000 parts. Investment costs are also reduced by more than 70 percent – as its estimated to cost between $15,000 and $17,500 and after government incentives it may be reduced to just $7,500 for the base model. The vehicle weighs just 992 pounds, can be printed in a matter of just three days but unfortunately reaches a top speed of just 43 miles per hour. 3D printing is not yet fast enough for highvolume manufacturing, but as the price of 3D printing becomes more inexpensive and accessible, more companies will start investing in the technology.

the automotive industry and both customers and manufacturers are looking forward to a fully 3D printed car. Using 3D printers helps a lot to manufacturers as it builds parts fast, at a reasonable cost compared to other prototyping techniques. Another major issue has been how one reduces automobiles weight – for the simplest reason a lighter car consumes less fuel making it more environmentallyfriendly. 3D printing helps in innovative design patterns and thus reduce the number of parts of the car. Another advantage is that you can build your part layer by layer. One of the major advantages from a customer’s point of view is that many car lovers actually enjoy customizing their cars to get a unique vehicle – like the Batman car or a car with your wife’s face. Under normal manufacturing it’s a special order and will cost 2-10 times more. With 3D printing you can create a single model at hardly any additional cost.

As the only son in a family of four daughters Raju took it upon himself to contribute to the family income at a very early stage and started off by selling goodies during the festive seasons. He clubbed his university studies with eight hours of rigorous labour at industrial workshops and graduated from the University of Pune with a degree in Commerce in 1985. “Since I was the only son the pressure trickled down from my parents to me. The mid 1980s weren’t exactly the best time for young graduates in India, since unemployment was rampant. The situation was so grim that even securing jobs that would fetch a nominal remuneration of a thousand rupees seemed impossible” However, they say that God favours the brave and a job offer from Taiwan kickstarted a journey that would change everything. Mr. Sabnani was employed by a company called Skymount Limited at their office in Taipei. Such was his hunger to succeed that it only took him a year and a half to rise to a managerial level. Also, I would attribute a large part of my success to the hard work and blessings of my parents who inspired me every single day of my life. Not many are aware, but my father Dada Sabnani visits our local gurudwara daily and is actively involved in the langar lunch and dinner service. How can he not be an inspiration? Such

selflessness is practically impossible to find these days and I feel blessed to be born to such noble parents”. This feeling of selflessness and the desire to help others seems to have transcended through generations in the Sabnani family and Mr. Sabnani’s nine-year-old daughter Melody contributed one lakh in Indian rupees to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Clean Ganga Campaign. She met with the Prime Minister when he visited Shanghai and this compassionate young lady has also donated her hair to the Cancer Society in Hong Kong. “God has blessed me with a beautiful family and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my lovely wife Bindya

who has been my rock for twenty-seven years and has never complained about my regular absence from home, which is either due to work related issues or my social work commitments” says Mr. Sabnani I know what you’re thinking. Is this man for real or is this a fictional interview? How can a single individual achieve so much in one lifetime? Well guess what, he’s as real as they come and when I say real I mean humane. While it’s one thing to be successful in business it’s another to be successful in life. Take a bow Raju Sabnani, because you have found success in both. Mr. Sabnani meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s visit to Hong Kong
RAJU SABNANI’S 10 COMMANDMENTS FOR A WHOLESOME AND SUCCESSFUL LIFE: • There is no alternative to hard work
• Chase your dreams and never give up
• Honesty is the best policy
• Contentment is happiness
• Patience is a virtue
• Service to mankind is service to God
• Consistency is key • Good teamwork is imperative for success • One should have clarity and direction

The Vizag Challenge by Faiz Qezilbash A detailed insight into the Andhra Pradesh government’s revolutionary endeavor to put the city of Vizag on the global map and turn it into the Fintech capital of the world
“ANY TIME IS A GOOD TIME TO START A COMPANY.”
Ron Conway, Noted Startup Investor, SV Angel
G
ood entrepreneurship is a trait that not many posess. You must be enterprising and should have the ability to take risks. They say that a good businessman is one who recognizes a good opportunity and strikes when the iron is hot. The Vizag Challenge is one such opportunity and promises to open the floodgates, which will enable global entrepreneurs to introduce and subsequently run their businesses in the Indian market.
The Concept: The Vizag Challenge is the brain child of the government of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and was conceptualized under the dynamic leadership and guidance of the state’s honorable chief minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu who is known for his vision and futuristic approach. Mr. Naidu is largely instrumental in turning Andhra Pradesh and particularly Hyderabad
(capital city of Andhra Pradesh) into a cyber haven. The basic idea behind this challenge is to invite global entrepreneurs and enterprises to put their best foot forward and showcase their start-up projects in the presence of a prolific jury of venture capitalists and investors. The focus is on broad categories such as Fintech, Agritech and Emergetech amongst others and the challenge begins with pitching events in Paris, London, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong and Bangalore. The winners from these events will then be invited to Vizag, India to present their technology at the Challenge Final in October 2018 and compete for part of US Dollars $1 Million in equityfree funding. The Vizag Valley is a selfsustainable global startup ecosystem that focuses on an amalgamation of finance and technology through industry-enablers, world-class infrastructure, entrepreneurship and innovation.

Faiz Qezilbash and Gaurav Pardeshi from A-Desiflava Magazine with Honorable Advisor IT & Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Government of Andhra Pradesh Mr.J A Chowdary and CEO Fintech Promotions Government of Andhra Pradesh Mr.Dharmendra Sunkara and Sai Sudha from Indiatech Hong Kong
Use Andhra Pradesh as a gateway for digital transformation in India An Interview with Mr. J.A. Chowdary (Advisor IT & Special Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Government of Andhra Pradesh): A-Desiflava Magazine: Good day sir and thank you for speaking with Adesiflava Mr. Chowdary: Thank you for having me
A-Desiflava Magazine: Sir can you please tell us what the Vizag Challenge is all about? Mr. Chowdary: We’re here from the Andhra Pradesh Government to promote the Fintech industry in India. We feel that after the BPO/IT services boom in India, niche categories such as Fintech, Blockchain etc. are gaining a lot of prominence and we want to capitalize on this, since it is our endeavor to create an ecosystem, which led to the conceptualization of Fintech Valley Vizag about two and half years ago. A-Desiflava Magazine: Are you already in talks with
companies who are willing to be a part of this project? Mr. Chowdary: Oh yes, absolutely! We already have the likes of HSBC and Paytm on board. Also, several startup companies have started their activities. A-Desiflava Magazine: From what we understand the honorable chief minister Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is very actively involved in technology-based projects such as the one in question and has been spearheading this movement ever since he took office. Can you please shed some light on the same? Mr. Chowdary: That’s absolutely right! The
honorable chief minister has a vision not just for the state of Andhra Pradesh, but the entire nation. Let me give you an example, we’re extremely strong in E-Governance and Mr. Naidu has been recognized as the father of E-Governance in the country. Today he talks about real time and mobile governments and our state is the only paper free state in the country, since we’re completely digitized. This helps build in transparency and accountability and the fact that we’re also the only state in India to implement government policies based on accurate data, which is
adesiflava.com
collected through digital channels is yet another feather in our honorable chief minister’s cap. A-Desiflava Magazine: What makes India suitable for an event of this nature? Mr. Chowdary: India is going digital and there will be a lot of opportunities coming up for startup businesses. Andhra Pradesh is currently the most digitized state in the country. In fact, our tag line is “Use Andhra Pradesh as a gateway for digital transformation in India” and entrepreneurs who set-up businesses in Andhra Pradesh will automatically have access to business prospects in other states as well. Also, the banking and insurance sector is rapidly moving towards digitization. This will generate a low of new opportunities for start-ups and is one of the main reasons as to why we have chosen Fintech as a core focus area. Lastly if you dangle a US Dollars 1 million funding carrot in front of someone that is enough of an incentive for them to be interested in your venture.

A-Desiflava Magazine: Where have you held other pitching events similar to the one that you are about to host in Hong Kong? Mr. Chowdary: We have already held pitching events in the US and Israel and are now in Hong Kong for the same. Our next destinations are France and the UK and Singapore is also on our list. We are also planning on hosting these events in major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi etc. since India has a large percentage of good start-ups who can benefit from this challenge. A-Desiflava Magazine: What was your key strategy for this challenge? Mr. Chowdary: We came up with a 5M strategy, which encompasses our entire game plan. The 5Ms that I’m referring to are •
Manpower- A good and experienced team is imperative for the smooth execution of any project
•
Money- Funds will be provided to start-ups for business ventures
•
Market- This is an
extremely important factor, since the market determines your fate •
Mentoring- We will appoint industry experts as mentors for the start-ups
•
Meet-up Events- We will organize regular meet-up events, which will give global enterprises an opportunity to convene and talk business
The Vizag Challenge Hong Kong Pitching Event The combined efforts of Indiatech (a Hong Kong based community initiative to serve as a platform for engaging of Investors and Entrepreneurs with an interest in Indian startup ecosystem, in Hong Kong, China Greater Bay and in India) and their respective Indian and Hong Kong partners DCF Ventures and WHub were instrumental in bringing the Vizag Challenge to Hong Kong. We spoke with Ms. Sai Sudha who is one of the founding members of Indiatech and this is what she had to say “It has been our honour to

partner with the Andhra Pradesh government for this futuristic venture. We received over 150 applications in under two weeks of which 23 applicants were shortlisted and were given an opportunity to present their start-up ideas at our pitching event, which was held at the Eton Club in Central, Hong Kong on the 27th of September’ 2018 between 6:30 pm and 10 pm. The jury picked 6 winners/ finalists who will hopefully be presenting at the grand finale, which is being held at Vizag, India between October 22-26th, 2018. As one of the co-founders of Indiatech Initiative I’m really proud that we could partner with the Andhra Pradesh government and bring this truly fantastic event to Hong Kong. Indiatech Initiative was set-up in Hong Kong with an aim to bridge the gap between India and China in the start-up ecosystem. The idea was to help the start-ups from this part of the world to enter the Indian market and seek potential investors and visa-versa. We truly hope that this is only the beginning”

August last year, they came in with a big bang, bringing India’s biggest singing talent show, SaReGaMaPa, to Hong Kong. SaReGaMaPa set out to discover the next musical superstar and turned dreams into reality. On 14th Oct 2017, 10 contestants chosen from 200 entries had a once in a lifetime chance to sing live on TV and share their own stories. The show was hosted by the super talented Neera Gupta and featured even singers from Indonesia & Philippines! It was a huge success, garnering positive reviews from the participants, judges and audiences. With the winner, Anirudh Trivedi getting the opportunity to meet Bollywood’s biggest star, Aamir Khan and singing for him! This love for Bollywood music was once again celebrated by bringing the age old musical game show, Antakshari for Zee TV on 17th March 2018. 32 teams battled it out through several rounds to produce one winning team. The host Neera & co-host RJ Gurpreet of Desi Tadka did a wonderful job. 4 episodes of the show were aired exclusively on Zee TV. Kit Kat Events & Marketing are also known for their Creative Thinking, with real Out-of-the-box solution. Evident in their recent
event, Young Indians Arts Festival, an initiative conceptualized by their Director Neera Gupta. She noticed, whilst there are many events catering to adults, like Musical concerts, Stand-up comedy, Plays, Bollywood parties etc., there were very few events for the little ones. And thus, came up with idea of a festival just for kids. More than 80 children participated in the festivities on 23rd September with umpteen number of activities such as Drawing Competition themed “Healthy Hong Kong”, Art Workshops artists, Dental Health talk, Yoga Workshop, Children’s Book reading activity, Games & Food stalls. The children also learnt empathy and humanity by making “Get Well Soon” cards for sick children in hospitals across Hong Kong. They have also provided customised and bespoke solutions for client and guests in Hong Kong, Singapore & UAE; through Charity gala dinners, Whisky Tasting evening, Open Mic events, Music Nights, Wine appreciation events, Networking seminars, Golf tournaments. Unveil Fat Fa Sen: Pursue Good Fortune I
By: Master Hayden
believed that most of you have watched movies talking about masters from different religions using their own skills and magic to get rid of evil spirits, ghosts and disasters. “Magic” seems to be mysterious, so let’s begin this article to share my experience and unveil Fat Fa Sen. I came across with Fat Fa Sen when I was 20. Before I became a follower of this religion, one of my elder family members became very ill who stayed in hospital for a long time. Once my master was noticed, he gave my elderly a charm to carry. Within a few days, miracle happened! He suddenly started to recover and was allowed to leave the hospital very soon. Till now, he is still very healthy. Since then, I devoted myself to learn and practice with devotion. Some said gifted talent is necessary when it comes to religion practice, but I think it is personal options as well as destiny. After the learning era is finished, it is also personal options if you only protect yourself or help others with your skills. For me, I chose the latter.
In Fat Fa Sen, is there any religious discipline? Every religion has its own discipline, so do we. We must be kind and be good, for Example, we must try out best to help people, eliminate bullies and help the weak. Also, we are loyal to the religion. Moreover, there are some spiritual animals that we cannot eat including cow, tortoise, snake, dog and carp. Once I accidentally had a bite of beef, I immediately had headache and stomachache. I started to puke as well. Every follower must follow the rules that grant master set.
Sense the dangers and help in advance Once I “graduated” (once my master allowed me to help people), I came across
with so many inconceivable incidents. At that time, a lady (known as Mary) and her brother (known as Joe) originally came to me to ask for direction for future career. Due to work, Joe could not come. In the meantime, with my moon blocks, I sensed that god of Fat Fa Sen wanted me to write Joe a charm to protect him although he was not able to come. As Joe may get an injury when he was working in the future. Therefore, I asked Mary to give Joe that charm as soon as possible. She did it that night. Four days later, Mary called me with a surprising tone. She revealed that an iron in the size of a bowling ball hit Joe. Fortunately, with the charm, Joe’s forehead only bled a little bit. He even did not need to be stitched.
Later, Joe finally came to my temple. By using my moon blocks, I noticed that. There were quite few ghosts following him as he lived in countryside and worked in dark environment. I communicated with those who followed Joe and gave them what they wanted, by burning joss paper and sacrificial offerings. Eventually, they left Joe and never disturbed him. Mary and Joe were very grateful and they come to my temple to worship regularly. However, we, as masters, are only humans after all. We feel tired every time after helping people with different kinds of problems. The extent of tiredness and the seriousness of the incident are in direct proportion. In next episode, I will talk about other inconceivable experience of helping other people. If you are facing any difficulty, please feel free to give me a call at 5301 6472 or an email at masterfatfasen@gmail. com. To be continued……

or several centuries now, explorers and traders from different parts of the world have traveled to even the most obscure corners of the globe in search of spices. Enjoying the importance of valuable commodities such as Gold and Silver, spices have always been sought after, so much so that Columbus ended up discovering the United States in his endeavor to find spices, thinking that he was heading for India. “Saffron” derived from the Arabic word Za'farān is an expensive spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus. Besides being used extensively for culinary enhancement it has medicinal properties as well and is also used in the making of confectioneries and liquors. Fabric dyes contain Saffron and so do perfumes. With a retail price of more than USD $500 an ounce “spice royalty” would be a befitting term to describe this amazing product. countries like India. Indian dishes such as pulao, saffron rice and biryani, are considered incomplete without Saffron. It is also used in desserts like kheer, gujiya and sevaiyan and its distinctively pungent, honey-like flavor and aroma are traits that make for an extremely vital ingredient.
• Medicinal Usage As mentioned earlier Saffron has medicinal properties and is anti-cancerous. It helps in lowering blood cholesterol and triglycerides in the body and in the treatment of atherosclerosis and arthritis. Human research has indicated that Saffron has an effect on mild to moderate depression and has

digestive properties as well. Saffron can also be used as a cure for asthma, cough and insomnia. It helps reduce intestinal gas and can be applied directly on the scalp to control baldness.
Saffron Selection Saffron is primarily available in 3 forms- threads, tips and powder. A dark Red color thread is a clear indication of good quality and that is something to watch out for. The texture of the threads should be hard and brittle, and they shouldn’t have White spots. As for powdered Saffron, it can be selected based on its aroma, which should be strong, fresh and non-musty. Lastly make sure that Saffron is always stored in air tight containers.
Some of it’s uses are as follows: • Usage in Cooking Used widely in the culinary world Saffron works wonders and helps enhance both savoury and desserts. It can also be used for garnishing and creating visual impressions. Its high price doesn’t deter even home cooks and it is commonly used particularly in

Don't worry ask Aunty
Each issue, we invite readers to send us questions under anonymity about personal dynamics and relations. Here are 4 selected questions from those recently sent to us: Answer 1
Aunty Poonam
Question 1: Hi Poonam Aunty, my name is Kiara (name hidden). I live Kowloon side. Could you please let me know what is the best to tell your mom that you have become a stripper? Especially after going to college, I have realized I can make more money this way. Please do reply.
Dear Kiara. A stripper is a woman who gets paid to dance and take her clothes off on stage, this public display is not considered decent and acceptable to parents who love their children. This can lead to flirtation or sexual demand. You cannot humanize it because people are going to be judgmental when you talk about your profession. These days there are umpteen professions to
choose and many young people are very liberal in their views. You seem to be one of them. It is apparent that you are ashamed to share with your mother so why bring pain to shame to her feelings, consider family reputation. Before talking to your mother consider the consequence in this profession, and your future too. It may also lead to people just using you, It appears money is your ultimate goal if you are an intelligent
person focus on your studies and for a better prospect. Look for appropriate part-time job, it may not bring big money but good enough to keep you going.
Question 2:
Hi Poonam Aunty, I am Renu from Kennedy town and I am 20 years old. I have the biggest confusion going on. I don't know what to do as I'm kind of dating two guys. I feel awful about it and I hate talking to them both as I don't want to hurt

either of them. They both make me laugh and are both really sweet. How do I choose one over the other and how do I tell that guy? Both of the guys I knew before I started dating, one I work part time with and the other was a childhood friend so I think it will make it really awkward when I do break it off with one of them.
Answer 2
Dear Renu, Dating more than one person at a time sounds a little overwhelming, Your childhood friend would probably know you better than the recent friend. Share your feelings with your childhood friend be honest with him, its good to enjoy a healthy and open relationship than to beat around the bush. You don’t actually need to make any formal decision. Best wishes.
Question 3:
Hi Poonam Aunty, my name is Asha from New Territories and married for 4 years. My husband is 29 and I am 27...I don't know what to do! I've caught him on porn so many times now. He broke his promise and said he's trying to change (at different

times). We've been together for 3 years and nearly 5 months. I've told him so many times in any way I can think of how I feel about it and how it hurts me. I found it again last night after leaving him alone about it for a few months. Sometimes it just makes me feel like he'd rather have one of those girls than me, even though I'm normally the one that starts the 'session'. I don't know if it's me and my body that's the problem. I just don't know what to do.
Answer 3 Dear Asha, It appears you are deeply hurt and your spouse seems unreliable, Time again he has broken his promise. On the other hand, he is finding difficult to change, though he wants. You need to reason with your husband help him control pornography sites. His desire for porn does not indicate he does not love you. He may be seeking it as an escape to daily stress. He may not know it is very harmful and will ruin the marriage. It requires a frank appraisal of what, if anything was wrong
with the marriage. Reason with him, forgive and grow to love him. In order to save your marriage, both of you must be willing to put in the effort. All will be well in good time. Look on the brighter side, you have each other.
Question 4:
Hi Poonam Aunty. My name is Ajay and I live in North Point. My main place of work is China, while my wife lives in Hong Kong and works here. I come over to Hong Kong only on weekends or whenever I have holiday. My wife is very loving and caring. However, I find myself getting increasingly attracted to a colleague, who is engaged. We end up spending time together at work and sometimes after, and it is clear that the attraction is mutual, but there is hesitation at both ends to even acknowledge it. I feel this now creates tension at work and unnecessary confrontations. I would like to maintain a friendship with this person, as I really enjoy the stimulation that conversations provide, and am aware that the attraction may fade
39
over time. But given the rate at which tension at work is accelerating, I doubt if there will be any friendship to salvage. What should be done?
Answer 4 Dear Ajay, Shuttling between work and home certainly becomes hard on your personal life. It is very easy to sway away and these days it is very common in the workplace. Acceptance of the problem results in half solved. You are already aware of the consequence. You can are either be part of the solution or part of the problem, The solution is with you; the problem is outside, try and avoid unpleasant infectious situations. Stay committed to your work; rest will fall in its place. You have mentioned your wife is loving and caring, it a great boon in your life to have this caring woman as your partner, please treasure it. You need to mature in your thoughts and action, do not get confused make a firm decision of your future with your wife.
