Hello Readers, I am extremely happy and delighted in putting together the MayJune issue of Adesiflava magazine, as it makes me think about my parents and all the good things i've learnt in life just from the way they brought me up. No coaching, no lessons, no tuitions, just the small small things in life which they did to raise me have taught me the best lessons of life which no university or school can teach. In this issue, my team managed to get Mother's & Father's day special greetings from some of our locals. A Special thanks to everyone who have expressed their love and affection towards their parents with a beautiful message with their photos published in this issue. Adesiflava team will deliver a copy of this issue along with a small flower bouquet and some sweets to the parents whom their kids have thanked through our magazine. I will make sure we publish the photos of all the lucky parents who will receive this special gift hamper from Adesiflava on mother's day and fathers day. The joy and love on their faces will be something out of the world to see, witness and share with our readers. In our PROFILE section, our talented writer Suraj Samtani has done an exclusive interview with Taqdeer Singh, the young lad who has made all Indians proud in Hong Kong by winning well acclaimed and famous boxing title in Hong Kong. We have started a new column in this issue by the name of REVIEW. Newly renovated BROTZEIT Restaurant & Bar in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon is our first pick and we would like to review many more restaurants, bar & retail businesses in Hong Kong by writing some amazing reviews about these enterprises. If you wish to invite our editorial team for a raving review, please send me an email. Alongside our Mother's & Father's Day focus, you will find an interesting and serious article by our regular writer Hongyu Wang in BAUHINIA'S VIEW. With the perfect mix of parents day theme, profile interview and some our regulars like Aunty MVP and Astrology this issue will keep you glued till the last page. Enjoy Reading.

MOTHER’S & FATHER’S DAY SPECIAL Remembering the pillars of our lives that made us walk, who made us talk, who made us what we all are today.

DEAR MOM, Growing up, I always took everything you did for us, for granted. I don’t remember if I ever said thank you to you or appreciated the things you did. In fact, there were instances when I talked back at you without realizing how much it would have hurt you. And getting annoyed with you for constantly checking on me Now that I have a daughter of my own, I realize how much you sacrificed, to keep me happy and healthy. All the unconditional love you showered, all the late nights you stayed up when I was sick. Waking me up with a cup of tea at 4am during exam days. The fact that you still cannot see a tear in my eye and are thinking of me with every breath you take.

Love Your Daughter Neera Gupta

Today mom, I want to say to you….I Love You very very much. I do appreciate everything you did and continue to do for us. And may be, I don’t call you enough or send flowers on Mother’s Day but please know that I am thinking of you too.

Kuldeep Buttar First of all, I would like to thank my parents for all for the hard work and sacrifices that they have made in upbringing me and my sisters. Thank you for encouraging us in taking risks and telling us that we can do it on our own. Thank you for all the blessings, without them, we are nothing.

Bhavesh Lachman I dedicate this message to my father on Father’s Day. A man who is a true inspiration to me and is the reason I am the man I have become. Always smiling and happy he has shown me that being good on the inside....makes everything around you shine.... I am so proud not only to call him my father....but also my hero.....Happy Father’s day Dad......

I hope Mummyji is smiling in heaven and is proud of who I am today and what I have become. When she left us, we were devastated and broken, but it was Daddyji who was the strongest at that time and said life must go on. I’m thankful that my father is still with me and hopes that my mother was still with us so we could cherish and appreciate her more. I owe my life to them and thanking them would not be enough. Thank you again Mummyji and Daddyji and God bless her soul and May God keep my father healthy and grant him a long life.

DEAR MOM AND DAD, There are not enough words to describe how thankful we are to both of you. You both sacrificed your own happiness, just to bring smiles on our faces. You both are the strength and pillars of our lives. Thank you so much for always being there for us. We love you both immensely. Happy Mother’s and Father’s day!! Lots of love, Anil-Muskan, Vicky-Neetu, Rahul, Shalu, Bhavin, Lavisha, Kavish, Krish, Simran.

Sushmita Bakuly Mother is the sweetest name on the earth. Her love is blessed by the Divine Flame. She tends it lovingly and is patient and self sacrificing.

Love you Dad, Sunny Rekhani My Father is a very loving, caring and dutiful person. Through his teachings I have been able to develop many positive qualities. He tells me about all the struggles of his life and his success throughout . My father was born in a very poor family, however currently he is successful in the city because of his patience, hard work and helping nature. My father loves cooking and he is indeed a very good cook too. He has taught me what life is all about and has always showed me the way to achieve success and never give up in life. He has showed me the opportunities that exist in front of me, but at the same time he has left the decision up to me in terms of which path to choose. He always used to be very confident that his efforts to make me a good human being will never go in vain. I Thank god everyday for giving me such a loving and caring father .I also wish to see him in good health for the rest of my life.

It’s not possible to describe you “Ma” in just few words. To speak about you or give a tribute I really don’t wait for any Mother’s Day, but I always do so as I can feel you inside me. You are an Angle and the most precious gift I would have ever asked for. You nourish us like a flower sacrificing your day and night and cried whenever we fail in our life, but Ma how could you stop your tears to make us all the success we climb so far. You always raised your hands to help and protect us without any demand. Thank you Ma for the wonderful lesson you taught me to keep walking even the roads are uneven. I am proud to be your daughter and learning to be a perfect mum of my kids. When I slept within your arms I felt secure so with every breath of mine I breathe this wish of love Mother's Day be filled with cheer And lots of happiness

MY MOM

M= Most Amazing Person O= Omniscient M= Magnificent Mom you have always been there for me. You sacrificed your happiness many times for me. When I used to be in pain, you were my medicine, when I was bullied, you were my protector, when I was in learning stage of my life, you were my teacher. Mom you are the greatest gift that God has given me. There is a famous saying “God could not be everywhere, so he made mother”. This saying is so true!

Tabarak Dar She was the most special women in my heart forever the best mother in the universe and my biggest supporter of all time since my childhood, supported my cricket and even told me about her dream where she saw me hitting sixes in International match, she was always by my side and even when I scored my first hundred at KCC, she was watching and supporting me from the KCC balcony. Today she is not in this world but I know she is always in my heart and by my side supporting me and saying keep it up and do well!

What is the job of GOD? The job of God is to Guide, Observe and Destroy. So are the duties of a mother. You Guided me in every path of life, you taught me the difference between good and bad. You have been Observing me all the time. Whenever I needed something, you gave me without me even asking for it. You have been the Destroyer of evil in me and bring out the goodness in me. You are the Kohinoor diamond of my life. Mom, I don’t know how to express my love and emotions for you, but I have these words: Mom, I love you! Be there for me always and forever! You are my light, My inspiration, My motivation, My Happiness! Happy Mother’s Day!!

Thank you Dad for everything. Gaurav Dhariwal As I get older I tend to realize what it is like to have different responsibilities on your shoulder, day by day I wonder how it is that you manage to do it with such command and finesse! I am forever striving to model your mannerisms and heroics and always looking to reinforcing the advice you give of “following your intuitions” or to “never back down from your stand despite whomever you may be up against”. Here is to me wishing not only my strongest pillar and champion dad but a shout out as well to all the wonderful fathers out there a very happy father’s day! Happy Father’s Day Papa, blessed to have the presence of a figure like you!

Raju Sabnani

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD I humbly dedicate my wishes to the person i have always looked up to. my father My hero.Dad -I wish i could be a tiniest percentage like you ,so humble yet so ferocious like thundering clouds . u have always been there to show me the light of the day that i strive on.u have been the bestest friend when i needed some one to pull me out of my tensions.no words can match ur wisdom and no words can truely depict the love that you have for your family.

We thank each one of you for accepting our request to send us your Mother's & Father's day greetings. Adesiflava will make sure we make this one day special for your mom or dad by sending a copy of this magazine to them along with a flower bouquet and some chocolates. BOXING BEYOND BOUNDARIES

E

ver since Taqdeer Singh Dhillon conquered the E-1 Boxing World Championship 2017, boxing has won a new ring of followers among Hong Kongers and Indians. On 17 January 2017, Dhillon inked himself into the record books of boxing by defeating Amigo Choi, an opponent more than double his age to become the youngest, as well as the first Hong Kong-based Indian, to win the competition. At a tender age of fifteen, Dhillon is already an icon of inspiration not just for his professional performances, but even for the person that he is. He proudly - yet modestly declares his dream: to be the best boxer in the world. The first step towards etching his legacy was fulfilled on the fateful evening of 17

January 2017, at KITEC, Hong Kong. The championship was a platform that helped him garner publicity and popularity. Each of the 12 fights were televised live on TVB, and with several fighters coming from overseas, the tournament was followed by medias and fans across the globe. Most of all, Dhillon’s opponent was a 37-year-old renowned TV and movie star, which meant that the match instantly got a high profile status. The ring was set for Dhillon to take centrestage. Even after being pitted against a local celebrity in one of his first televised tournaments, Dhillon showed no signs of nerves. In fact, he was fast on his feet, swift in his swings, and he even packed power in his punches. His performance paved the path for him to win over his opponent, judges, and of course, the crowd. The silverware earned by the end of the night was not only a prize for his unquestionable talent, it was also a reward for the dedication, discipline and determination of him and his family. As Dhillon admits, balancing pleasures of passion with the pressures of building a profession is a gruelling battle. Besides fighting, he concurrently studies in form 3 at Confucius Hall Secondary School, and later plans on pursuing a university degree in sports science. He sweats most when he has had to juggle his attention between preparing for examinations and training for boxing matches. Throughout his trials and travels though, his unrelenting attitude has kept him committed to a rigorous

20

PROFILE

routine that leaves him with barely any time or energy for a social life. Like a true sportsman, he finds a silver lining in training; he believes the greatest growth through working hard and conquering challenges. As soon as his school ends at 4 in the afternoon, Dhillon heads to his gym to train for 2-3 hours almost every alternate day. From stretching and skipping, to pad-work and shadow boxing, Dhillon follows a strict regime of high intensity workouts. His head coach is Alain Ngalani, a world champion of martial arts, and so it comes as no surprise that Dhillon pays as much attention to bolstering his boxing skills as boosting his personal stamina. He ends every week with a 5 kilometers run, along with a series of exercises like chest presses, squats and push ups. These preparations, though, are not enough to eternally eliminate anxiety,

obstacles and injuries. As a professional boxer, Dhillon faces challenges inside and outside the ring. In fact, even his preparation for the E-1 Boxing World Championship 2017 was compromised due to a wrist injury. Despite these blows though, Dhillon maintains a fighter’s spirit throughout. Many of his falls have left irreversible bodily scars and stitches, but each time Dhillon gets back up stronger. “People who fall and don’t get back up either don’t have a dream, or they lack the courage to follow their dream,” he explains. To help prevent injuries, rather than try to curing them, he now even avoids visiting places or partaking in activities where he could be prone to falls or diseases. In equal measure, impeccable consideration is also given to Dhillon’s diet. As tasty as they may be, Dhillon’s mother tries her utmost to ensure that her son avoids all types of fatty foods and other junk edibles. If ever

there was a type of food that is most healthy, nutritious and organic, it is the simple, sweet and sentimental cuisine served from the kitchen of maternal and unconditional affection. Dhillon’s mother puts in a lot of research and care to ensure that he gets the right nutrients to maintain fit, energised and strong. Cheating on his discipline would be like cheating on his dream, and everything he has ever fought for. Dhillon’s dream to be a competitive fighter sparkled in the plains of Punjab. After being born in Hong Kong, Dhillon spent most of his early years in India. While living with his extended family, he was instantly drawn to one of the local sports, kabaddi. After migrating back to Hong Kong, Dhillon maintained his passion for contact sports, and eventually found his penchant in boxing. Before taking up the sport himself, he had already become an avid follower of international boxing matches; till date he is a huge fan of Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather’s greatest strength, Dhillon maintains, is neither his boxing skills, nor his stamina. It is Mayweather’s resilience and perseverance. Dhillon vividly recalls an incident in 1996, when Mayweather

PROFILE

was ousted from the Olympics during the semi-finals due to a mistake from the judges. If it was not for the human error, Mayweather was tipped to make the finals and even emerge as champion. Despite the setback though, Mayweather stuck to his dream, and came back stronger in his subsequent battles. Since his infamous defeat over twenty years ago, Mayweather has scored almost fifty victories without a single loss. “People who lose actually have higher chances to win their next battle because they can know exactly why they lost and how they could improve,” said Dhillon, as he reiterates how Mayweather’s greatest loss proved to be one of his greatest gains. Dhillon aims to emulate the warrior spirit of his idol and break through the boundaries of limitation.

Dhillon dreams of succeeding not just for himself, but to provide a better life for his parents. Knowing that his father worked tirelessly at odd labour jobs even as a teenager, Dhillon hopes that his parents can alas have a comfortable life. For that, Dhillon acknowledges the need to have a stable career. Besides being a boxer, he also plans to become a boxing coach; this career path could continue to sustain him beyond his span as a professional boxer. His determination and clarity of vision earmarks the characteristics of a true champion. With the aggression and youthfulness of a teenager, as well as the maturity and focus of a seasoned professional, Taqdeer Singh Dhillon is already an athlete to admire. He is an inspirational and aspirational leader, who accepts that

21

victories and losses will be part of the journey; instead, he keeps his focus on striving for excellence than success. The modest and proud champion leaves us with one final blow: “It’s not where you want to get, it’s how you get there.”

Overall, I am grateful for having met the people that I did, the amazing and encouraging teachers that taught me and I can truly say my 7 years at DSC are forever cherished and treasured.

Aharna & Tapase

My time in DSC has been extremely rewarding. Not only was I taught technical skills that are now immensely helpful in the field that I currently study (Communication Design), but I was given valuable lessons that went beyond the academic sphere. From being in a multicultural environment in an institution that highly values the idea of celebrating diversity, I learned the importance of respect and equality. By being under the guidance of teachers who were dedicated, friendly and just simply good at teaching, I became a sincere student that genuinely enjoyed learning. Overall, my nine years of education at DSC shaped me into an individual that is open-minded and willing to take on lifelong learning, something that I would forever be grateful for.

31

and the high-schoolers (who seemed so much taller at that time) made their way to their first classes. I stood amongst all these people as a nervous 11 year old kid who had just moved to Hong Kong. However, as soon as we reached class and everyone introduced themselves, I knew that things were going to change and that there was no need to fear that.

When I look back at my time in DSC, I realise that it was a place where I experienced friendships, opportunities and, not going to lie, a little bit of stress. It gave me the chance to be part of various clubs, explore different talents and gain valuable skills to cope with life. The highlight of studying at DSC however, is to learn from the incredible teachers there. All the teachers that taught me at DSC were the most motivating and inspiring teachers I have ever met till date and were friendly and patient enough to guide all their students throughout the highs and lows of school. In many ways, DSC has been the reason I was able to push myself to move away from home and explore the world as a true individual. Currently, I am a third year student at the University of Toronto in Canada - a decision 11 year old me would have never dreamed of making, in a country I had never set foot on before, and getting a university education recognised world-wide.

Aharna and Tapasa came to Hong Kong for the first time with their family in 2008, when their dad got a job as a fleet manager. Aharna started at another school, but quickly switched to Delia School of Canada to attend kindergarten in 2011. She was in Hong for three years and then the family went back to India. After staying in India for four years, they came back to Hong Kong and were happy to return to Delia School of Canada they missed Delia and thought of it often in India. Just before coming back to Hong Kong, Aharna and Tapasa went for a Live India Competition Audition. The Live Show was named SA RE GA MA PA Li’l Champs which was being judged by Himesh Reshamiya, Neha Kakkar and Javed Ali.They passed the 1st and 2nd auditions. Recently, Delia held a talent show. Aharna and Tapasa, both were excited about singing in the show and confident because of their singing lessons, previous performances and they knew that their parents, teachers and Delia friends supported them. They sang the songs Maa from Taare Zameen Par and Udi from Guzarish. It was blast! Coming back to Delia was a pleasure for both sisters because they made new friends, they actually enjoy their studies and the Physical Education program.

BAUHINIA’S VIEW

THE WORST NIGHTMARE,

THE MIGHTIEST STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL

BAUHINIA’S VIEW

E

xcept nuclear tests and the mockeries of Kim Jongun’s haircut, the world press at large seldom cast coverage on the darkest place on earth – North Korea. In is not their fault, though. Three generations of the Kim dynasty have chosen a sealed border to isolate its people from the outside world. With all information blockaded from entry into the Hermit Kingdom and unimaginable terror at home, its 25 million people are trapped in the biggest living hell on earth and vanished from all sights. There are, however, a tiny few who have lived to see the lights. Over the decades around 28,000 people have made to South Korea, often having endured fatal treks fleeing to China and horrible human trafficking

33

whilst hiding from China’s repatriation, before risking one final attempt to cross into the likes of Mongolia and Thailand for rescue. Approximately 300,000 are trapped in China with mostly women been sold to peasants as wives and held as mistresses. Yeonmi Park, author of In Order to Live, was on the great escape. She recently spoke on a gathering at the Island Evangelical Community Church, organised by Hong Kong Student for Liberty when I was in attendance. It is hard for the rest of us, even those living under brutal dictatorships, to fathom what Ms Park had been through all those years. Unlike any other place in the world, North Korea is where every mind and soul is brainwashed, much

34

BAUHINIA’S VIEW

like been genetically engineered, to live only to serve the supreme leader. “Do not even whisper [anything else], even the birds and mice and hear you”, as Ms Park recalled her mother’s warning. Dead bodies and hungry beggars were common scenes of Ms Park’s childhood memory, when the country’s food ration system collapsed following the fall of Soviet Union. Memories of public execution and visit of state security agents were afresh even years after her flee. Hope is the only thing stronger than fear. A smuggled movie Titanic from China into Ms Park’s border town and lights across the Yalu River planted curiosity in her young heart that life somehow was different in another universe. But Ms Park’s eventual flee wasn’t a search for freedom; it was out of desperation for a bowl of rice. If this indescribable absurdity is out of your wildest imagination, think of District 12 in the novel Hunger Games. When I was reading through the book after Ms Park’s talk, Panem’s districts often surfaced in my nightmare. It was when Ms Park’s father was imprisoned for metal trade and sales to China that the family’s songbun, or caste, plummeted. If there had been three meals day, Ms Park and her sister were only surviving in wild nature now. But fleeing to China was entering another hell. With no exposure to sex ever, a thirteen-year-old Ms Park saw her mother raped, to protect her, in front of her eyes the first thing they sneaked cross the Yalu River. Sold for US$ 260 with her mother’s price tag at only 65, Ms Park was taken her innocence and kept as her broker’s mistress for almost two years in exchange for buying her mother back and trafficking her dying father, who had

developed colon cancer in prison camp, into China. Looking back, Ms Park’s otherworldly refusal to accept a pre-ordained life, even in the worst possible circumstance when there is nothing of her fault, did play a part in her continued search for dignity. And this time it meant to cross Gobi desert to Mongolia under minus 30 degrees, following the northern star to freedom. To Ms Park, Julius Caesar’s immovable northern star was the only living being to witness her existence should her small troupe of defectors unable to make it. To human life’s unbelievable resilience, Ms Park did make it to South Korea and began a tough yet free new life. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Now a free young woman, Ms Park, having gone through unlearning her past to assume nothing had happened, is a determined voice not only on her own terrible sufferings, but on her country people left behind in the cold. Ms Park is promising to the whole world, alone but mighty, a Mockingjay on her free will, that life can go on no matter how bad the losses, and wounds can heal and new life can prosper in truth, love and freedom. Ms Park is also a living

testimony that nothing is here to stay for ever. However strong the dictators are, once enslaved people are exposed to the truth, kindled with love and freedom, all those efforts of deceit and terror are to be blown away in the twinkling of an eye. Coming from where humanity is at its worst, Yeonmi Park celebrates the eternal strength of an indomitable spirit that extinguishes fear, destroys limits and makes everything possible. As Ms Park said at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club, “I could have been killed many many times before so I almost take this life as something plus life. I don’t really try to be affected by that. I really hope even if I am gone that we remember the people of North Korea and remember North Korea is not about politics.” “If I die, I am OK. I mean I already experienced this freedom [in South Korea]. So I am satisfied. So at least I can say that I did something for you, my people in North Korea,” said Ms Park on Special Broadcasting Service of Australia.

MRS. POONAM MEHTA SHARE YOUR LOVE AND RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS WITH HER, SHE KNOWS IT ALL..

QUESTION NO 1: Dear Poonam Aunty, Hope all well with you. My name is Aprajita and I am 43 years old. I have been residing in Hk for the last 30 years . My problem is I am here as a domestic helper and last year I got my daughter here to work as a helper in an Indian family. The lady although is nice but my daughter is uncomfortable with the man of the house. Now my question to you is there any law in HK where we as overseas helpers can lodge complaints and if not then what option do I have as my daughter‘s visa is still applicable for some more months.

Dear Arpajita, Overseas helpers can make complains in Hong Kong. Your daughter can complain to police if any wrongdoing is done against her. If the complaint is regarding her employment she can approach the Labour Relations Division of the Labour Department. This provides free consultation service to assist employers and helpers in understanding the various employment entitlements. They guide to resolve claims under the Employment Ordinance (EO) or the employment contract. If conciliation is not successful, the Labour

Department will, at the request of the party concerned and depending on the claimed amount, refer the case to the Minor Employment Claims Adjudication Board or the Labour Tribunal for adjudication. Information on the EO can be obtained through the Labour Department website (http:// www.labour.gov.hk) and Telephone Enquiry Service (2717 1771).

QUESTION 2:

QUESTION 3: Hi. I am Jenny. I live in Tung Chung am 37 years old. I have been going there a lot of issues this month at home as well as in office bogging me down. One of my colleagues is not co-operative at all and always dominant though she is not the boss. She tries to create hassles and misunderstanding with other staff. How to avoid such people who tries to create a setback ?

Dear Poonam Aunty,

Hi Jenny

With lot of hope I am writing to you this letter. I am seema 35 years old have been here for the last 2 years. I was told I will be given a hefty salary however when I reached here in Hongkong neither did I get such heavy salary nor have they refunded the processing charges that was given by me, and the agents are absconding, so pls help I have the domestic helper status here. I don’t know who to go and where to seek help.

I sympathise with your situation this is common where the other person feels insecure in her or his life. She is perhaps trying to find her own identity at workplace. She knows no other way but rub others on the wrong side. She is using you as a punching bag. You have a choice to stand up for your right and express your feelings to your colleagues. Let her know it is not acceptable. You can also take her for a cup coffee and try to make friends with her. May be she is going through some emotional issue in her own life. Maybe she will realise in spite of her unacceptable attitude you are taking the initiative to resolve the problem in an amicable manner.

Dear Seema, You can complain to the police against the agency if it has made false promise to you and charged excessive amount. Regarding your salary, you may consult Labour relations Division of the Labour Department as mentioned above.

Good luck

QUESTION 4: Dear Poonam Aunty my name is Sarah am living in HK for the last 4 years. My problem is my husband is so very moody and is unpredictable. Little sneak peek into his life. He has not had a very good childhood as in they are 4 brothers and sisters and he being the youngest according to him he was bullied by his peers which according to a normal person is ok (fights do happen), but some how as per his standards it was not. Resulting he has become too temperamental and now he is a father himself of 2 daughters but his mindset has not changed although being a dutiful wife I take extreme care

of him but I dont know how to pull him out of that  mindset .Although he is good with his kids. But in lot of circumstances his action are so weird and usually it leads to insulting me in public. God has given me immense strength of patience thus I do not react but sulk and it is now a part of my life (sadly though). He remains undettered to the fact .I have spoken to him about it, of course he does not pay any heed .So please help me, guide me through as to what I should do ‌thanks

Dear Sarah Your positive attitude towards your husband is your greatest strength. How is his relationship with his siblings now? How are his brothers towards

39

their wives? Please find out if he is happy at workplace. Is he being bullied at work? He might be going through mood swings and not been able to deal with his past therefore he is displaying his emotions at home. He may be finding you a target to vent out his inner struggle. My suggestion is to find him a professional counsellor.

ASTROLOGY

ASTROLOGY BY

BEJAN DARUWALA FOR MAY 2017

Aries:

Ganesha says it’s spectacular success with people – across all relationships – right from the word ‘go’. Ganesha applauds this fine start to the period. Depths of sharing, understanding, caring and warmth come to you from colleagues, friends, and neighbors in addition to the intimate family circle. There is support, too, and you feel you are given much.

Taurus:

You are willinag to meet demands on you in terms of relationship, and emotions as a spillover from last period. There is, in addition, a dynamic and very fluid work angle. You may find the changes unsettling, but ultimately you gain greatly from them. Your major gains, though, are in the money angle. You no longer desire quick deals / profits and prefer to work for a steadier gain.

Gemini:

Money flows in and you make the right decisions at work. Tensions and anxieties ease as a result. Also you seek the wise counsel of older, experienced people who will show you how to deal with problems. You turn your energy into creative channels and the results are wonderful.

Cancer: You felt you lacked a proper

direction and focus in your life for quite a while now. Contacts, communications, reaching out to people and places take care of that feeling. You are full of charm, bright ideas, and even some bold innovations. Your own intelligent approach wins the day! Appreciation and fulfillment come to you in great measure from Ganesha.

Leo:

You will feel energized and refreshed – a fair amount of travel makes that happen. Also, you handle money matters skillfully and efficiently. Fresh,

new contacts, new people yield not only an exchange of ideas and inspiration but profit, too. You will be better organized at work, so that there is far less stress. This casts its reflection on the home front, too.

supportive friends not only bring out the best in you, but are ready to do some crisis management too. A time of intense activity – even in your love life – which just might leave you feeling a little tired!

Virgo: You learn a lot this period in

terms of – a) defining your own goals realistically, b) accepting demands / responsibilities cheerfully rather than as a burden and c) showing patience, understanding realistic hopes within personal relationships. The results have to be good! Money matters as well as matters of the heart both ease up.

not just generous with money, but with yourself – even at work. You spare no effort in your sincere desire to go on with colleagues and subordinates, are much more patient, tolerant, helpful. You can accept your own faults – at home, too. A new and very interesting person forms a bond that energizes, refreshes, enthuses you.

Libra: You are spectacular in terms of

Aquarius:

creativity, intuition, invention. Certain energy possesses you and you seek to channelize it into a) community and social welfare, philanthropy, charitable deeds, b) interactions with young people, children, and the young at heart. You feel all the energy, enthusiasm and optimism of youth. A great way to feel!

Scorpio:

Change and adjustments are what it’s all about. In the latter case, you are helped by people who have your best interests at heart. Family and children share a smooth flow of affection, care, warmth. Some travel is likely, and a fair amount of socializing, partying, entertainments. Domestic life, too, gets a charm, an aura through a possible wish – fulfillment, or an event that creates inner peace, great contentment of mind.

Sagittarius:

Once again in this period, the family and home, entertainment and pleasure come together in fine harmony. Work finds you efficient, enthusiastic, and very progressive and this rubs off on family and personal life, too. Like last period,

Capricorn: A period when you’re

Your children / dependents / pets / older relatives / in – laws / parents – any or all cause you anxiety, concern. Not necessarily health problems, though. There could be unexpected demands to meet, and unplanned expenses to cope with. Your partner / spouse will support you sincerely, unconditionally and so, too, will your friends. Family and friends are the central point this period.

Pisces:

You have given some very serious thought to the limitations, reservations that you perceive in your professional life. You now realize the hurdles you need to overcome for professional advancement. Promotions / improvements at work seem much more attainable. In addition, love and friendship both renew and refresh you. You are content, full of peace and comfort within yourself and you can interact at parties, meets, gatherings in a mood of giving rather than receiving. Ganesha nods.

ASTROLOGY BY

BEJAN DARUWALA FOR JUNE 2017

Aries: Ganesha says many pulls on you,

your time and energy this period. Let’s look at finances first. You may feel that there is a little confusion and overlapping there which you seek to sort out by proper budgeting, some cut-backs, and some reallocation. The other two concerns are your social life and your desire to do something, give back something to society, the community, the world. Taurus: You may feel that all the progress and joy of the last period was a dream that you have now awakened from; rudely so. Both money and work deadlines and family demands will seem to be tight – requiring more than you can give or afford. Ganesha tell you to hang in there – all good things have to be striven for. They will come. Your patience, forbearance and determination are being put to the test. Gemini: A lot of business entertaining, official / professional socializing, media – savvy, publicity-related parties could be happening now. You are, thankfully, much more careful vis-a-vis your finances and also dependents / children / pets, so you don’t go overboard on a spending spree. You feel you’ve hit the right track for professional and domestic life so that there is harmony at home and at the workplace, and peace and contentment within you.

Cancer: Your period is approaching.

It makes for great pleasure, contentment; smooth sailing at home and at work. There seem to be no glitches in your career advancement. You are willing to use tact, charm, savoir faire and it reflects on your professional life as much as your personal relationships. You feel you can shape your own destiny in both these spheres. Ganesha has given you another fine period to do it in!

Leo:

Pleasure, easing of tension, contentment and calm come to you. This will be seen as work / professional matters go through smoothly and efficiently but even more so on the personal front. The intimate family circle, the larger circle of friends, neighbours, relatives, even the community and you all come together. You bask in this glory of content.

Virgo:

You need to trust your own instincts, insights, hunches. But this must be done with tact, charm, softness rather than blatant aggression. You have the right ideas – let them win the day. And win they shall – perks, promotion, recognition and prestige, better status are yours this period. It could be from the existing job or the relocation I spoke of last period.

you more gentle, much kinder, more concerned and willing to listen. You can extend sympathy to others, put yourself in their place, and identify with their problems, hopes, ambitions.

Capricorn:

So far you’ve concentrated on a) self image and its enhancement, b) your image in the eyes of others, and hence your personal relationships and c) your career / profession / vocation / job and how successful you can be at it. Now it’s time to reap the fruits of your endeavors. Money flows in and you spend on acquisitions, artifacts, comforts and luxuries, new and lovely things for yourself and your home.

Aquarius:

enough for home and family and been more focused on work and professional concerns. You now seek to make amends in terms of care and concern, quality time as well as some good times together, along with a careful scrutiny of your finances with regard to domestic funds, commitments, and requirements.

There is a seeking for perfection that is the hallmark of you. Here, you seek perfection in all you do on the personal level – love, interaction with lover or mate, family, children, dependents. You can make the required effort to do your best for them. In addition your efforts are directed to larger financial matters like joint – funds, mutual finances, capital for new projects. You’d like to cash in on the good money trend!

Scorpio:

Pisces:

Libra: You feel that you have not done

You will meet with a considerable amount of professional success after all the effort you’ve been putting in for some time now. Also, your period is coming to completion and the trend will come to its fruition. You feel that home and family need your best efforts, deep commitment. You identify with the extended family as well as the more intimate circle of love / mate and children.

Pisces is a sign that watches out for itself. I don’t mean to imply selfishness or egocentricity here. Your own image – in your own eyes as well those of others – comes in for a face – lift, a deeper, more fundamental make – over. Your personality, physique, wardrobe and grooming, as well as mindset, attitudes, ambitions are all to be enhanced, improved and upgraded. And you do it with a will, setting out to please others as well as yourself. Great!
