EDITOR Hi there! Lets all of us pray for Justice to SSR! The Sep-Oct issue is a special issue dedicated to Late Sushant Singh Rajput(SSR), the innocent soul that left us on 14 June 2020. What a sad Sunday it was; everyone was enjoying their lovely weekend, and here comes the shocking news of yet another Bollywood star dying, but this time it was not because of any illness but due to suicide as claimed by the all rigged up Mumbai Police, Hospital reports and media at that time. Luckily, his dead body photo got viral, and the entire nation became James Bond to prove that it wasn't a suicide but a homicide killing. Who is responsible for his death? Rhea Chakraborty (the gold digger), Priyanka Singh (the greedy sister), Drugs Mafia, or the underworld? The truth isn't that far as CBI & NCB unravels the real cause of SSR's death. Whoever has done this disgusting act will surely rot in hell. Just out of curiosity, My wife and I visited Primrose Apartments in Santacruz, Mumbai on 6 Sep., the residence of Rhea Chakraborty, and we happened to speak with the Republic TV reporter during live coverage. The reporter mentioned that she hadn't gone home from the past ten days, and she's been sleeping inside the van and gets her family to bring her clothes and other things from time to time. We asked her if she was doing this forcefully due to pressure from her News channel bosses, or she was doing it willingly. Her answer was very shocking; she said, "hum log Sushant ke liye lad rahe hai, Arnab Goswami Sir aur humare saare reporters ko kuch bhi extra paisa nahi mil raha, but hum SSR ke liye kuch bhi karenge". After meeting the Republic TV reporter, we met another reporter from India Today, a very arrogant and rude person right from the beginning. My wife told him very nicely, "Don't leave the culprit, you all are doing a great job," he blasted at my wife, saying "Aap kaun hote ho batane waale ki culprit kaun hai, Rhea ko sab pareshan kar rahe hai, aur aap jaise logon ki wajah se ladki bichaari pagal hone waali hai", he was siding Rhea Chakraborty and her entire family. So we saw both sides of the coin and somehow felt that maybe even the media channels are rigged and working for their TRP and backing political parties. In India, anything and everything is possible, as they say in Mumbai, 'Sab Ganda Hai, Par Dhanda Hai Yeh'. Rest in Peace, Sushant Singh Rajput, you will always remain a star as you were. I hope every person involved and responsible for SSR's death should be punished and given life imprisonment. Dawood Ibrahim, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, and many other scoundrels live lavish lives abroad, and our country's common man is still thinking 'Woh Ache Din Kab Aayenge?' PROFILE section is as impressive as the cover story. Mrs.Niki Kaur Gill approached me to do a unique interview article with Master Chan Fai Chai from Chung Yuen Tong(CYT). The core reason she wanted me to do this article was purely out of her social cause to introduce the miraculous benefits of Chinese medicines and therapies of CYT to the entire Indian community of Hong Kong. After all, she got her ten-year-old ailing leg pain cured with just one visit to the CYT clinic. My Indian Boyfriend, many of you should know about this first Hong Kong film in Hindi & Cantonese based around the love story of an Indian boy and a Hong Kong Chinese girl. This film will undoubtedly draw much attention from the Hong Kong Chinese people, why not we HK Indians also offer our full support and affection for this first-ever attempt by our talented community hero filmmaker Sri Kishore. Don't miss out on watching this movie and reading the interview with Sri Kishore in our FEATURED section. This issue was supposed to be entirely dedicated to SSR, with every article based around Depression, Drugs, Bollywood, Nepotism, and Suicide, but somehow I was not convinced and managed to make it a mix of some other interesting interviews and articles. I hope you all appreciate and enjoy reading this issue. Please support the magazine and the efforts by placing your advertisements and feel free to connect with me to contribute your articles, stories, poems, condolences, and birthday wishes.

There are many theories doing rounds, and every day is a new revelation on some new approach to SSR's death. Many also say that the poor guy's death has become a political spat between BJP and Shiv SenaCongress, and both the political parties are trying to use their own media power's for their political atrocities.

your complaints and hear your problems; either your complaint does not qualify as per their books of Law & Order, or either they are too busy to handle your complaint since they have a lot of other more-important emergencies to handle. If you go there with any genuine problem, they will put the law & order books in your face, and when you break the law & order to get your trouble solved, they will say why did you not approach the Mumbai Police. I can share my personal experience to prove this fact. An app development Company got introduced to me by a close friend almost two years ago. Two persons by the names of Pravin Odedara and Vineet Singh introduced themselves as Heuristic Solutions based in Ghatkopar West. I was pretty

satisfied with their profile and knowledge, and also, since they came through close friends' reference, I immediately signed them up for my first App development project in India. I paid them their hefty advance to start the work, and from time to time, I made their payments based on project milestones set as per our contract. Time to time, they showed me the app development work and took money from me, but never delivered

anything. After one year, all the troubles started when they stopped asking for more money and stopped achieving their milestones. Even after over two years, the project stands incomplete, and since January 2020, both the company representatives stopped attending my phone calls. In July 2020, I visited the Borivali police station in Mumbai to complain about the frauds with a view that the police can help or guide me. Still, instead of even listening

abiding people and will take the hell out of you, but when someone like Sushant dies, a mysterious death, the Mumbai police becomes friends of the politicians and Bollywood drug mafia trying to cover-up the virtual proofs and evidence. Thanks to the most powerful force in today's world called the 'Social Media' that became the CBI right after Sushant's death and just from videos, photos, and information available, could open the eyes of several media and people to believe that Sushant was murdered and did not commit suicide.

to my problem or making me understand the legal way to solve the problem, the lady police officer very rudely stated straight on my face that the Mumbai police could not do anything in this matter, and she does not even know who can help me. She clearly stated that they have more severe and urgent issues to handle compared to my issue. In August 2020, I met the Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 11, Vishal Thakur, to get his support. I explained to him my problem and requested his guidance, and the only thing he mentioned was that as per the books of law & order, my agreement with the app developing Company needs to be registered with the government. I asked him what he meant by that, and he mentioned that I need to find out on my own. I requested him to provide some alternate solution to my trouble, and he said forget about my

money, and he called for his assistant and showed me the way out of his room, telling his assistant that register his complaint only if it's legal, which indirectly meant that 'Don't do anything for him.' This indicated that the Mumbai Police itself makes you a criminal by not helping you when you need their guidance and support. Now I feel my only what to get back my money from the fraud app developers is to take some illegal action against the fraud app developers, indirectly pushing me towards doing something not legitimate. Based on my personal experience, I clearly can say one thing that, In India, Law and Order is only for the poor and the middle-class but nothing applies for the rich & famous. God forbade you to get caught in Mumbai breaking a traffic signal, or drunk and drive, the Mumbai Police will show as if they are the most sincere and law-

Many from the filthy film fraternity have linked Sushant's death to "mental illness" without even realizing how patronizing it is. He was a brilliant, well-read, engineer deeply interested in philosophy and astronomy, with his home full of science memorabilia and instruments. A close friend of mine, who happens to be the bodyguard of one of the biggest Bollywood heroes, mentioned that drugs are widespread among all the Bollywood biggies. Some of the Bollywood stars are 24x7 on drugs. He said you name any Bollywood star, and for sure, he or she must be taking drugs regularly or occasionally, but it is there for sure. It's a prevalent thing in Bollywood and Mumbai politicians party circuit. He mentioned that Rhea Chakraborty And Mahesh Bhatt shared a very intimate relationship where the old guy fancies young girls for oral sex as he is impotent himself at his age. Aspiring actresses and actors happily find the 'laying-down' as the fastest & simplest route to make their space in Bollywood and TV.

He was a brilliant, well-read, engineer deeply interested in philosophy and astronomy, with his home full of science memorabilia and instruments.

He even mentioned the most significant example of dirty Bollywood is yesteryears superstar Jitendra's Family. Ekta Kapoor, who is preferably a lesbian but bi-sexual occasionally, is nowadays fancying very young aged girls for her sexual pressure; I think a Pedophile is a right title for her. Tushar Kapoor, the gay brother of lesbian Ekta, is also setting up the exemplary examples for his family name and the legacy that Jitendra built with years of hard work. I wouldn’t be shocked to hear that Jitendra himself is yet another Mahesh Bhatt. My friend felt privileged and happy for not being rich and famous; at least he feels grounded and attached to his inner self, cultures, traditions, and morale beliefs of understanding family, cultures, and social responsibilities. He ended by saying

Black Magic The dark side of Bollywood

“bhai apun garib hi bhale hai in kamino se”. Another model friend of mine who happens to be born and raised in Colaba mentioned

that the modeling field is full of Gay’s and Lesbians. Most gay fashion designers, choreographers, and model coordinators want the male models to compromise for simple modeling projects. He mentioned the names of Imam Siddique, Rohit Bal, Manish Arora, Varun Bhal, Suneet Verma, and many more.

He also mentioned that sometimes we have to even offer ourselves to older adults, men, and women, both rich and powerful, and controlling the big shows and projects run by our coordinators. Even after offering ourselves, we are often not provided any work and are being used by these influential people. All of this has become very common now in our industry and we have no option but to live with it. Rhea Chakraborty and her entire Family are very clearly involved in the murder of SSR, and the Drugs angle proves it all. As per the latest news, Rhea's father and brother are both druggies, and hence their criminal minds worked together with Rhea to make SSR a complete drug addict, which may push him more towards extreme depression, schizophrenia, and suicidal feeling (if at all he committed suicide). Rhea is entirely responsible for Sushant's death.

SSR was supposedly seeing ghosts and feeling negative energies inside his flat and surroundings. Due to this reason, he moved out of this flat to a penthouse in Bandra, Mumbai. Are these ghost stories for real? Or are just part of some black magic done on SSR? The big question is, who might have done black magic on an angellike person SSR? All Bollywood stars are very well acquainted and known to black magic, tantric, spells, and witchcraft. Several proven news articles on the internet about how black magic helped with careers destroyed people and proved a success for so many Bollywood biggies. Ranbir Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, and many other big names keep their tantric to keep them protected from the evil eye and black magic from others. Sushant Singh Rajput was a hardcore devotee of Lord Shiva. He would recite Mahamrityunjaya Jaap and Lord Shiva's songs and his housemates with full energy, music, and spirits. As per his family and friend's interviews on news channels, SSR felt very close and connected to Lord Shiva and was also willing to dedicate his entire

needs to introduction. After SSR's death, entire India knows how many sisters he had, where they are based, and what they do for a living. Even if eight fingers out of 10 points towards Rhea Chakroborty, 2 fingers also point towards SSR's Family being responsible for his death.

life towards spirituality and prayers of Lord Shiva after he retired from work. It's hard to believe that such a big believer of Lord Shiva also got spelled by black magic. With Black Magic being so common in Bollywood, its not difficult to guess that Rhea Chakraborty definitely played her spells on SSR to strenghten his depression theory and feeling of negative energy around him. The worst part is the Rhea Chakraborty used SSR's own money to do black magic on himself, which sounds absurd and agonizing.

Sushant's Family - were they too disconnected with SSR? Sushant Singh Rajput’s father K.K. Singh’s allegations and his family’s posts should also be put under social and cultural examination. A ‘witch’ and a ‘gold

digger’ are routine tags given to women by typical mothersin-law; and blaming a son’s big-city girlfriend for all that is wrong is how families cope with sons’ autonomy. Not to undermine their grief, but the way the family has reacted says a lot about the burden of being a son in a Bihari family. He has to be

no less than a Shravan Kumar all his life. Sushant's Family

The Father - SSR's father, K.K Singh, wasn't very close with Sushant based on Rhea's interview on Aaj Tak news channel. However, I feel that his father could have shown some more aggression in finding out what's wrong with his son. He could have visited himself to Mumbai without informing Sushant or could have spoken to his sisters to take some more aggressive steps in finding out if his son is really in some trouble or maybe needs some help. Eldest Sister - A Wife of a very senior police officer and supposedly SSR's guide, mentor, and motherlike after his mother's death at an early

age. She knew about SSR's depression and moneysucking girlfriend, Rhea. Why didn't she suspect foul play in his life at a previous stage and take some more concrete and constructive steps to improvise her youngest brother SSR's deteriorating condition? Mitu Singh - This sister was staying with SSR during the last few days before his death. I still fail to understand how come his sister Mitu Singh is not aware of what was going on in SSR's mind. She could have easily alarmed her other family members if Sushant was really in a suicidal depression condition. Also, why isn't she publicly giving her statement with any news channel as done by Rhea? Is she trying to hide some facts?

Depression - when mixed with drugs, is super dangerous. SSR was undoubtedly depressed due to the Bollywood Nepotism and lack of work. Rhea Chakroborty, as a life companion and socalled loving Girlfriend, should have diverted SSR towards spirituality, yoga, meditation, and healing therapies. But

instead, she chose to be a gold-digging slut, and offer him more drugs pushing him towards more profound depression.

While it impossible to fact-check all these narratives, the

uproar's explanation after Rajput’s death goes beyond the standard parasocial theory. It has caught fire because of several unanswered questions. Personal reasons for his deteriorating mental health will remain unknown, but unraveling these narratives provides insights into people’s reactions to his sudden demise. The cause of death — suicide — is, of course, salient. It is a natural human tendency to rationalize death, to affirm that nothing

S T O R Y

else could have been done to avoid it. It is challenging to process death as a “choice”, even though it never is. Research has shown that there is seldom a single reason for this act, and it leaves people, especially family and close friends, with a series of unanswered questions. It is also common for people to speculate murder, as it is difficult to accept a self-inflicted death. Article by : Gaurav Pardeshi Editor, A-Desiflava Magazine

ustice is a concept of moral rightness based on ethics, rationality, law, natural law, religion, equity and fairness, as well as the administration of the law, taking into account the inalienable and inborn rights of all human beings and citizens, the right of all people and individuals to equal protection before the law. This is combined with ethics and its ethos. Ethics is a branch of moral philosophy that "involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior". Ethics seeks to resolve questions of human morality by defining concepts such as good and evil, right and wrong,

In simple language:

Justice is crucial in any situation, be it family or an organization;

virtue and vice, justice and crime. These two go hand in glove.

Unfolding the crime is the responsibility of law makers;

Each letter in the word ‘JUSTICE’ is meaningful:

Securing and procuring confidential information is vital;

Justify

Truth which is in accordance with fact or reality is essential;

Unfold

Impeccable action is vital in solving any matter;

Secure

Courage to face the ordeal takes much time;

Truth

Earnestness should not be given to swindling, lying or fraud.

Impeccable Courage

In Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, all the above words are meaningless to some law makers and public protectors, including some politicians in Mumbai.

Now to move forward, let’s consider if a child of a common man becomes a victim under similar circumstances. Where should this common man reach out for help? In this respect we need to educate the the public, especially girls, to share their fears with parents and parents must show empathy and understanding towards their children – only then will children be able to muster courage to share their problems. They have to be open minded and set fair standards, this will allow children to trust their parents and not seek help from outsiders, This will prevent youngsters falling into a trap, as Sushant Singh Rajput did. Which door can he or she knock on for justice? What’s the solution? India needs to create a platform where helpless people’s voices can be heard. Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. Law makers should aim to open the doors of access and opportunity for everyone, particularly those in desperate need. The first and foremost attribute of social justice is that people of every race can live well and have equal opportunities. Social justice should attempt to bridge the gap and empower people no matter where they are. This helps promote economic equality. The gap between the rich and the poor seems like it's always expanding.

Social justice issues can occur in relation to practically every aspect of society where inequality can arise as a result of unjust prejudices or unrealistic policies.

Let’s call this platform HUM HINDUSTANI KI AWAZ through REPUBLIC NEWS media, hosted by Arnab Goswami. Hopefully this platform will help to eradicate injustice. How?! A common man has to wake up without any fear and bring his or her unjust issues into the public realm – one person’s voice will help the community at large only with public support. Each of us must confront his or her own fears, and come face to face with them – this can help us gain strength, courage and confidence.

Hong Kong Indians seek the secrets of

Chung Yuen Tong In conversation with Master Chan Fai Chai We all Indians living in Hong Kong have always had mixed views and feedback regarding Chinese therapies and medicines. Some say its ineffective and waste, while some have had great results and recoveries after adapting Chinese treatments and therapies. One of our fellow Indians, Mrs. Kaur Gurmeet Gill, was suffering from persistent leg pain for ten years, and she tried every kind of remedy and medication, involving Homeopathy, Allopathy, Massages, Oils, Traditional treatments, and whatnot. After a lot of resentment, Mrs. Gill took

the first attempt towards Chinese Medicines when she came across a messiah called 'Chung Yuen Tong (CYT).' With just one session, her entire ten years of painful grieving had gone entirely, and to date, she hasn't experienced the same pain ever again. Mrs. Gill felt so blessed and overwhelmed with her first and best experience with CYT that now she wants all Indians living in Hong Kong to experience Chinese medicines and therapies from Chung Yuen Tong, and she guarantees to bring a smile on your ailing faces after getting treated by the expert team at Chung Yuen

Tong under the supervision of Master Chan Fai Chai. Mrs. Gill highly recommends Chung Yuen Tong's Chinese treatments and wants to promote their treatments to our entire Indian & South Asian community living in Hong Kong. Intending to support Mrs. Gill, I interviewed Master Chan Fai Chai, the current owner, and practitioner at Chung Yuen Tong (CYT).

Mr & Mr s. Gil l wit h Ma ste r Cha n Fai Cha i On 10th August, I had the privilege to meet and interview Master Chan Fai Chai at his clinic at Pakpolee Commercial Centre in Mong Kong. Upon my arrival at the clinic, I saw a massive queue of Chinese and Gweilos

Yan cha ng Str eet , Mo ng Kok (Ja nua waiting to meet the team of CYT, and then I felt that Mrs. Kaur is right, why don't I see any Indians or south Asians in this long queue, why are we all missing out on something important like this. Master Chan Fai Chai humbly requested that I wait as he would overlook at his teammates consult 2-3 more patients before joining me for our interview. I didn't want to take too long, thinking about the several patients waiting outside. We finally began our interview, and the first thing Master said was I seem to be having some stomach issues for many years, and I should also try some of his Chinese therapies. Without even touching my stomach or body, he was damn accurate.

Q : How did the treatment center come into existence? In the 1950s, two brothers surnamed Wu in Longjing Town, Qingyuan, Guangdong, the eldest brother Wu Zhuoying, and the younger brother Wu Shihai, who undertook court training and used restorative materials to trade and practice medicine to benefit the world. Due to early political reasons, at the end of the seventies, these brothers came to Hong Kong and created pharmacies attached to Chinese medicine services. They opened branches in Yau Ma Tei, Sau Mau Ping, Yin Chong Street, and Mong

Kok last moved in 2003 to serve Hong Kong. It has a history of nearly forty years. Physician Wu Shihai was also one of the first batches of old Chinese medicine practitioners registered in Hong Kong. He had been practicing medicine for more than 50 years until his elder brother Wu Zhuoying passed away at 91 in 2016. Because of his advanced age, Wu Shihai, closed the medicine store in Mong Kok, passed the relevant inheritance to the apprentices, who then changed its name to Chung Yuen Tong Physiotherapy Center. Master Chan Fai Chai met veteran Dr. Wu Shihai in 2012 and formally followed his teacher to learn art in 2013. Ghosts, Metaphysical, and Eliminate negative energy.]

Q : How is Homeopathy different from Chinese Traditional Therapy? Both medicine systems have many differences in theories, principles, and practices, but they have some essential aspects in common. Both are holistic in approach, treating the whole patient, not the affected organs only, focusing on stimulating the intrinsic life principle to bring order and homeostasis and balance in the organism. In therapeutics, they may advantageously be applied as an adjuvant to each other, producing synergistic effects. Homeopathic preparations are made of dangerous substances (e.g., salmonella, tuberculosis bacteria, etc.) but too diluted, to the point where there is no molecule of it left in the final product. Homeopaths claim that the original substance remains in some form, but modern science cannot detect any trace of it. From a modern scientific point of view, homeopathic medicine is nothing else than pure sugar. It has no therapeutic action on the body. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), on the other hand, is a complete theory of medicine developed over millennia by thousands of theoreticians. A TCM student today needs

www. adesiflava.co m

about as many years to understand the field as a student of modern medicine.

Q: South Asians mainly suffer from Obesity, which causes diabetes, cholesterol, tiredness & various health-related problems. At the same time, it is challenging for south Asians to give-up on their lifestyle of eating spicy and fatty food and forgetting about diet and health at family and friends gatherings. How can Chinese Medicine help in such a case? According to TCM principles, the development of Obesity is due to heavy, greasy, and spicy foods or alcohol, facilitating the production of heat evils in the stomach. Meanwhile, inadequate Exercise after eating these types of foods damages the spleen function. In Chinese medicine, fat is seen as the product of "phlegm" (Tan), which is fluids that have accumulated then condensed into a more concrete form. From the Chinese point of view, the digestive process's

Chung Yuen Tong (CYt) established formally in 1978 objective is to transform foods into a type of "warm digestive soup," which is turned into nourishment and fuel for the body. If the digestive process is not functioning as well as it should, food gets turned into "dampness" instead of fuel and nourishment. Over time, this dampness will sooner or later transform into phlegm, causing you to be overweight. I would suggest the get regular acupuncture and light Exercise because it activates Qi's circulation, stimulates intestinal peristalsis, and helps to eliminate stored fat. If you need natural remedies, without consulting me, do the following : 1) Stop all snacking. 2) Eat meals at regular hours,

with a savory (not sweet/ carb-loaded) breakfast and a light dinner, to promote spleen function. 3) Eat easily digestible foods and plenty of vegetables. 4) Significantly reduce the consumption of sugary foods, dairy, alcohol, and fatty foods. 5) Eat warm foods and eliminate cold foods. 6) Eat cooked foods and eliminate raw foods. 7) Do not drink at the beginning of the meal, and only drink warm beverages at the end of the meal. 8) Halve your intake of carbohydrates for several weeks, but increase your consumption of vegetables and fish. Eat more rice, quinoa, and legumes, and avoid grains from the wheat

family, which are very damp producing and generate phlegm.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), on the other hand, is a complete theory of medicine developed over millennia by thousands of theoreticians. A TCM student today needs about as many years to understand the field as a student of modern medicine.

Q : Master, many say that Chinese traditional medicine takes a very long time for treatments, and also the medications are

difficult to eat because of its taste, odor, and quantity, Is there any alternate and supposedly better option invented now to make the medicines more user friendly? If you do not like the taste and odor of Chinese Herbal Medicines, you can take physical therapies. TCM is not just about Herbal Medicines. Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy,Gua Sha, Massage (tui na), Bonesetter (die-da), Exercise (qigong), and dietary therapy. Alternate & physical therapies work much faster and are more effective and powerful.

Q : How can Traditional Chinese medicines help with Women related problems? In Hong Kong, especially among Indians, there are very few Female Indian Doctors, and their charges are costly. Acupuncture is the best Chinese solution for all women's related problems. Let me explain some of the most common women's associated issues that can be treated by Acupuncture :

1) Menstrual issues: Acupuncture encourages the blood to flow more freely, helping to regulate cycles and alleviate the cramps, headaches, and other pains often associated with menstruation. 2) Menopause and perimenopause: Traditional Chinese Medicine is very useful for treating menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, heart palpitations, anxiety, and insomnia. Along with Chinese herbs, acupuncture offers a safe and natural solution to all women's hormonal fluctuations. 3) Endometriosis The heavy bleeding, backache, severe cramping, and abdominal pain and swelling that often accompany endometriosis are very receptive to acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture restores flow to the blood and the Qi, relieving the stagnation. 4) Infertility Endometriosis and an irregular menstrual cycle are both key factors in female infertility. Acupuncture treatments by a skilled Chinese medicine practitioner direct blood flow to the reproductive organs and help regulate menstrual cycles. 5) Pregnancy and postpartum support Acupuncture can relieve the lower back and pelvic discomfort associated with pregnancy and morning sickness. After delivery, many women find acupuncture treatments

essential for rebuilding their Qi and blood, increasing milk supply, and dealing with postpartum depression. 6) Insomnia and sleep disturbances Several clinical studies have shown that acupuncture is effective for improving sleep quality and duration. 7) Depression and anxiety Acupuncture can be just as effective as antidepressants, without any of the side effects. Treatments help with stress management, lower blood pressure, and tamp down anxiety-based panic attacks. 9) Addiction recovery Addiction treatment programs increasingly use a combination of conventional medicine and acupuncture. Recovery from drug, alcohol, and smoking addictions can be made easier when acupuncture helps to quell the stress, anxiety, and depression women often encounter while trying to let go of addictive habits and behaviors. 10) Skin rejuvenation Acupuncture generates blood flow to the face, reducing puffiness and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. The anti-aging effects of a circulatorysystem-stimulating session can do wonders for a woman's appearance and mood.

treatments that you offer from your center? We offer the below services : 1) Bone injury manual physiotherapy (commonly known as a bruise) 2) Bone setting 3) Pain treatment 4) Cupping 5) Acupuncture

Q: Has Chinese Traditional Medicines invented any workable treatment for Cancer? In TCM we may attack the cancer cells directly with specific herbs, such as Curcuma zedoaria (e zhu) in cervical Cancer, Cephalotaxus fortunei (san jian shan), or natural indigo in leukemia, and Crotalaria sessiliflora (ye bai he) in skin cancers. We need to carefully balance the competing forces between body enhancement and cancer-fighting with treatment being adjusted according to the disease's development. Some of the TCM approaches towards treating Cancer are : General Tonification aims to replenish the blood and qi, fortify the organs and resume the yin yang balance

of the body by methods like herbal prescriptions, acupuncture, or acupressure. Clearing toxic heat is the primary cause of cancer progression, especially in middle and late-stage patients. Deadly heat brings on swelling lumps, localized pain, fever, irritability, dry mouth and throat, constipation, yellowish urine, and foul discharges. Supplementing blood and dissipating stasis, It is believed that the high coagulate state of circulation helps cancer cells to travel along the blood vessels and embed in new areas and grow. In TCM we regard this condition as blood stasis, which is also associated with tumors, pain in a fixed location, a purplish tongue, purple discoloration of the skin, dry and rough skin, brittle nails, and varicose veins. The above conditions can be improved by activating the blood flow and making the blood thinner, which also helps to make the tumor shrink and inhibit the growth of its surrounding connective tissues. Dispersing phlegm to soften lumps, phlegm and dampness evils are not only at work during the early stages of cancer development. They keep acting inside the body throughout the disease's whole course, creating a series of complex problems. Dispersing phlegm and dampness is usually indicated for cancer patients presenting with massive lumps, chest, and abdominal distention, nausea, vomiting, limb weakness and puffiness, even body fluid retention.

Detoxifying with toxic substances. Sometimes, cancer patients' complex conditions may be due to a mix of various pathological toxins, which are difficult to resolve by merely eliminating methods. Thus, we then resort to utilizing toxic substances to neutralize, the so-called "using poison as an antidote to poison".

How is Covid-19 Affecting Women T

he Covid-19 pandemic has upended our lives in several ways. Many questions about whether life will ever go back to what it was before the pandemic. One of the most significant changes that came about was in the way we work. With lockdowns and social distancing measures, several offices have implemented the work-from-home arrangement. While many find it hard to follow, others would wish it to continue even beyond the pandemic. Has it impacted women differently from men? Has it been better or worse for women? It has been noted over the last few months that the pandemic and its resulting lockdowns and work-fromhome arrangements have led to an increase in domestic violence and abuse against women. The UN has described the worldwide increase in domestic abuse as a "shadow pandemic" alongside Covid-19. It is thought cases have increased by 20% during the lockdown, as many people are trapped at home with their abuser and have limited access to help.

Hong Kong has been no different. RTHK news reported in May this year that the Federation of Women’s Centres recorded a surge in domestic violence cases during the coronavirus pandemic, with 34 victims seeking the Federation's help from January to March, compared to just 16 cases over the same period last year. In all likelihood, this number does not reflect the true picture as most cases of domestic violence go unreported.

It is thought cases have increased by

20% during the lockdown

While that is a negative outcome, there have also been some advantages for women from the new work arrangements. Given that the burden of care is disproportionately higher on

women, having a flexible work arrangement allows them to better juggle their work and caregiving roles. By reducing stress and helping achieve balance, flexible working arrangements can help women succeed at their work. Also, “performance over presence” is seen as a positive outcome of the forced shift in working formats. At a recent webinar co-organized by the Equal Opportunities Commission and Feliz Consulting on Equality at Work and What Has Changed with Covid-19, Nina Atimah, Regional Head of Risk Management at HSBC Hong Kong, agreed and said that people seem to be getting more credit for their work without factors such as gender, race, etc. coming into play. One, however, needs to be cautious in arriving at a judgment. Flexible working arrangements are still very new to many organizations, particularly in Hong Kong, which has a strong “presenteeism” culture. It is early to say if these arrangements will ultimately work to the benefit

or detriment of women. As Fiona Nott from The Women’s Foundation TWF) says in the 22 July TWF newsletter, “Many organizations have adopted a partial WFH policy, whereby a portion of employees work remotely and a portion remain in the office. Because of care responsibilities, women are more likely to be among those working from home. They may miss out on crucial informal conversations that take place in the office, and there are concerns around whether being seen at work will confer greater status and privilege going forward.” In these uncertain conditions, all we can say is the government, employers, public services, and civil society need to be mindful of the secondary fallout from virus containment measures, which can impact one section of society more than others, such as women. Gender equality should continue to be a principle all stakeholders keep sight of and bear in mind while formulating and implementing measures to beat the virus that has changed the way we live – for the present, at least. Yoga

in

Sports I

t is well acknowledged that to play sports, and whether it be tennis, volleyball, surfing, swimming, or running, we must develop the skills and continually train the body. Sports may be for fitness or professional purpose yoga will help to enhance your skills. Depending on the need of the sportsperson and the type of the sports various yoga asanas can be practiced like Stretching, Relaxation, Breathing, Concentration, etc Sports include the activities of coordination of body and mind on an individual level and synchronization with other team members if its team sports like soccer, cricket.

B E A U T Y

www.ad e si f lava .com

In sports, Yoga works on the body and mind level as follows: Physical Level

Mental Level

Having a body that is flexible, strong, and control is most important.

Yoga is beneficial to a professional athlete as it enhances concentration, fosters a calm and relaxed mind, and enhances mind and body connection. Thus, it allows an athlete to have greater muscle coordination and fluidity of movement. To play a sport well, it is also necessary that a person can have the highest level of focus and concentrate without distraction or timidity. As such, dealing with distractions, adversity, and stress is an important component.

If one cannot move the body with the grace, velocity, and speed required, then performance will lack luster. Similarly, if a person cannot maintain endurance or stamina for the required duration, the performance will be diminished. Yoga can mobilize joints, stretch tissues and ligaments, tone muscles, bring flexibility to the spine, and strengthen the internal organs.

Yoga also helps to reduce stress and anxiety and cultivate self-confidence and self-belief. As per research in yoga, the group of 20 Runners aged between 9 to 12 years, were provided with the training for 100 meters running competition. The group was divided into two containing 10 runners each, later group was an experimental group. The experimental group was given the additional visualization task or manifestation that they are amongst the first three winners. It was observed that the experimental group performed much better during the race than the first group. Please note that there is no alternative to practice and hard

work, but being in a winning frame of mind is also essential in sports.

For a sportsperson, it is necessary to deal with two things quite efficiently i.e., Training and Injury. A) Training: A sportsperson tends to use the same muscles a lot, as a result some muscles become stronger and often shorter while others are weaker in comparison. This creates a muscular imbalance in the body, which in the long term often leads to injuries. A corner stone for sportspersons success is persistent training, one should avoid pressure on a particular muscle but

&

H E A LT H

should also stretch the overall muscles by doing yoga asanas. B) Injuries If sportsman suffers an injury, the likelihood of recurrence or additional problems increases. Its dual focus on recovery and prevention Yoga can help athletes return to their typical game post-injury. Regular Yoga practice can help prevent injuries in the first place so they can stay in the game.

Following are some of the examples of Yogic Practices that enhances athlete’s performances: • Balancing asanas like Tree, Half-moon, Eagle pose improves the functioning and efficiency of internal organs. It also develops the function of the cerebellum, the brain centers that control how the body works in motion improve muscle coordination and posture including physical and nervous balance which helps to achieve grace and fluidity of movement. • For a professional athlete wishing to optimize their performance, it is essential that they can change body movements and behaviors as required to maximize efficiency. Inverted asanas like Headstand, Shoulder-stand can change the standard patterns (both the emotional and psychic state), It can help to improve health, reduce stress and anxiety and increase selfconfidence. • Agility of mind and the capability to manage stressful the situation on the ground and the sharpness are also important on the field. Simple meditation practices like Trataka, Yoga Nidra,

Visualization can enhance the state of mind. • Stretching and toning of muscles through yoga postures where holding on yoga poses for a longer time helps in sports. Some of the practices that can be followed are Sun Salutation, Camel Pose, Warrior pose, Nataraja Asan, Bow pose, Go-Mukha Asana, Masthendra Asana, etc. "Sports do not build character. They reveal it."So one should take the opportunity to reveal their true character through sport. Article by :

Retail Store Design Tips from the Pros

T

hriving in a retail business is no piece of cake, with business owners striving to keep their products high-quality yet affordable while keeping themselves competitive to their brick-andmortar peers and the growing online space.

Big brands or small, everyone looks for strategies to improve efficiencies of their operations and maximize sales. And this is where seeking some professional help from interior designers can come in handy.

“From the moment someone steps into your

store to the time they leave (with or without a purchase), well-thought design decisions make a world of difference in influencing whether a sale takes place or not, says Heena Ahuja from SARA Interior Design.

Gaurav Pardeshi, Editor A-Desiflava magazine met Heena and her work partner Sonal Bhandari, founder of the company, to find out their top design strategies for Hong Kong retailers to optimize real estate usage while driving up the sales.

H O M E

www.ad e si f lava .com

So let’s delve into the ‘What’ and ‘How’ of getting customers into your stores and making a purchase.

The pre-cursor to any design strategy understands your products/ services well and identifying its target audience. Once the customer base is well understood, you can tailor the design concept and customer experience. A retail store layout aimed at children and teens, for instance, will look very different than the one that seeks to attract midage professionals.

“Retail store interior design is more science than art. Fine details of every corner of the store are critical to improving that customer experience that would ultimately drive sales.”, added Sonal.

Choice of Colours

One may not realize, but colors influence shoppers’ perceptions, emotions, and shopping experience. Stores are often furnished with neutral colors for most areas and then complemented with a small accent color dose, usually coordinated with the brand color (s). They could be in the form of wall colors, furniture pieces, dominant displays outside the store, etc. While all that is well-intended, do you know that colors subconsciously convey a message to shoppers? Let’s see if this is indeed the message you intend to convey as well.

&

• Yellow and Orange signifies warm, happy colors, convey energy and enthusiasm • Blues are calming, inspire security and trust, that’s why we often see such colors used in financial institutions • Red increases the heart rate, calls for immediate attention, and prompts impulsive decisions. Think McDonald’s, KFC, or candy stores in bright reds! • Greens convey freshness. They are often found in grocery stores, especially with those selling fresh produce • Pink evokes light-heartedness and romance, commonly used in shops targeting female customers • Black produces a general impression of strength, elegance, and exclusivity.

finishes, and wood furniture can be used to convey elegance, while raw, unfinished shelving and exposed metal pipes can lend an industrial vibe to the store. The presence or absence of furniture and fixtures can both carry a different meaning. For example, comfortable armchairs and couches placed in upscale retail shops convey luxury and invite more sophisticated and indulgent shopping experience. On the other hand, the absence of seating conveys customers to move around and shop or leave always.

2

4

Captivating Façade

An attractive shop front/ façade and window display are the two most essential aspects of a good retail store interior design. They set the tone for your products and services while providing an enticing eye candy to attract clients entering the shop. The more unique your store façade is, the more curious the passers will be. Large clear glass helps in providing an accessible peek to the reluctant lot. Bold and distinctive signage is also crucial for making a strong presence. Experiment with digital signage, automated lightboxes, and video displays for uniqueness!

3

Invest in Right Interior Design and materials

With suitable colors decided, the next step is to create the right environment to tell your brand’s story. Materials and finishes on the walls, floors, fixtures, and display units should develop a coordinated backdrop that defines your brand, conveys a unique look & feel, and lets your products shine. For example, hardwood flooring brushed metal

The Right Layout for Your Store

Space planning is critical to the design of any retail environment. A good layout encourages maximum product exposure to the customers while providing a great customer experience. There are three types of store layouts: 1) Grid layout, 2) Loop and 3) Free-flow layout, and each layout can be ideal in different situations, depending on store size, product type, and the target audience. For instance, Grid layout (what most supermarkets have) offers maximum product displays while keeping it convenient for shoppers to quickly grab-and-go-out without walking around the entire store looking for the exit. It makes for a great supermarket customer experience and leads to higher sales. Loop layout involves clearly defining an in-store path to guide customers. This layout

Mint City Grocery store, Hung Hom. Designed and built by SARA Interior Design could be a preferred choice for stores that require a relaxed customer experience for higher sales and not the graband-go-out expertise offered by a Grid layout. Upscale retailers with relatively small inventories might benefit from free-flow store layouts instead of grid or loop layouts. They allow more creativity and enhanced opportunities for customers to explore the merchandise, resulting in higher sales. Hence, depending on what sort of customer experience you want to provide, plan your layout well.

5

Light up Your Store

In photography, it is said that composition is one thing, but lighting can be the difference between a breathtaking and a bygone picture. This is not too different for a retail experience. An appropriately lit store can make a lot of

difference in enhancing the customer’s experience. Notice how supermarkets maintain bright general lighting, making it easier for customers to read tinyprinted information labels or compare pricing amongst different brands. Ever noticed lights in a jewelry showroom, which are always warm-colored focused LEDs, accentuating their precious stones' sparkle. White light conveys a valuebased shopping experience while warm light sends intimate and exceptional shopping experience. In addition to general all-round lighting, use accent-lighting to direct attention towards your high-value product offerings. Finally, add a bit of drama to the overall décor through decorative lighting pieces, especially if you want your customers to selectively focus on specific sections of your store – such as that wine-tasting corner, which could need a very different décor, relative to the rest of the store.

6

L I V I N G

Give Importance to the “Decompression zone (DZ)”

DZ is the space that’s located just inside your front door. It transitions shoppers from outside to the inside. Our top tip here? Rather than selling, focus on making a great first impression. Your customers are appraising everything surrounding them and making critical judgments like how expensive or affordable your store is likely to be or how well the interiors do and what message they convey about the products and the brand. Make this space inviting and express your unique brand appeal through top-class furnishing, fittings, lighting, and displaying your best products.

and environment play a much more significant role than most owners imagine. A well-planned and thoughtfully designed store attracts customers, entices lingering around, and encourages spending. Article by :

Checkout Counter

Just because customers have reached the cash counter, it doesn’t stop them from thinking about shopping or adding things to their baskets. Design your checkout counter to sell! Please take advantage of the wall behind the desk to create exciting displays and let customers think about them while waiting in the queue. Placing low-cost merchandise near the cash register is also an age-old retail trick to entice shoppers into impulsive buying.

Indian Boyfriend My

www.ad e si f lava .com

First-ever Hong Kong movie in Hindi & Cantonese In conversation with Sri Kishore, Hong Kong’s first and only Indian filmmaker on his upcoming movie ‘My Indian Boyfriend.’ Hello, I’m Sri Kishore, an Indian filmmaker and Bollywood dance teacher living in Hong Kong from the last 12 years. I’m from Hyderabad, Telangana. I came to Hong Kong in 2008 then settled here, marrying a Hong Kong girl. My son Vishwa Virat is 5 years old, and we are happily living in Hong Kong. Since childhood, I have been passionate about films. I made a few short films in India, which got selected for several film festivals. After moving to Hong Kong, I focused on feature films and made three Telugu movies. My Indian Boyfriend is my first Cantonese movie, and thankfully we just finished the entire shooting a few days back. Hong Kong is a beautiful place that taught me many things, and It was my dream to showcase Hong Kong city in my film. Now I feel lucky showing Hong Kong city along with a love story.

1 Tell me about 'My Indian Boyfriend'? My Indian Boyfriend is the first Hong Kong movie made in Bollywood style. The film will be in Cantonese, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages. Its a story about how a Hong Kong girl falls in love with an Indian boy who is irresponsible and jobless. We are also showcasing Hong Kong and Indian culture. It has six colorful songs which are the first time shown in Hong Kong cinema. With this film, I'm mainly focusing on Indian living styles, such as how Indian families eat and communicate at home about their family issues the same way I'm focusing on how Hong Kong people mentality and living style.

2 Is the movie based on a real story based out of Hong Kong? I have been living in Hong Kong for the last 12 years, so few of the scenes are based on real incidents, and most of the movie is with fictional characters.

3 Tell us more about the movie star cast. We luckily got on board Hong Kong's well-known actors like the main actress Shirley Chan. She is quite famous in Hong Kong. Justin Cheung, Lenna Yueng, Qbobo, Sham Kaki, Pancy Chan, Cheung Pui Lok. We are introducing the first Indian male actor Karan Cholia born and brought up in Hong Kong.

4 What is the movie's commercial angle, and Is it releasing in India or releasing just in Hong Kong The movie is full of songs with an emotional love story made in Bollywood style. The music is by Shravan Bharadwaj, and he has done a fantastic job. MIB is the first movie in history, which is made in Hindi & Cantonese. We plan to release this film in India, Hong Kong, Tai Wan, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries.

5 Would you be releasing this movie in China as well? Yes, I have plans to release in China as well. The audience from China loves the Indian style of movies with songs.

6 Will the film be released on any Digital OTT platform? Yes, I am aiming to release on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

7 Are you making this movie keeping in mind the Indian audience or just the Hong Kong Indians or both? I feel this film is for a global audience because it's about the living style and cultural difference between Hong Kong and India. This movie speaks about two different countries living style and their culture. It's easy to adapt to the story globally.

8 Which aspects of the film are you taking care of? I'm the Writer-director and producer.

How difficult or easy is it to make a movie in Hong Kong compared to making a movie back in India The concepts and ground rules of making a film remain the same, irrespective of making it in Hong Kong or India. However, when you compare from the logistics point-of-view, making a film in Hong Kong is pretty straightforward and unadorned compared to making in India. It's challenging for me to shoot in this crucial period. I have been working on this film for the last four years, and finally, when we are ready to shoot, COVID-19 seriously affected us. Somehow we managed to finish whole shooting following proper guidelines. The movie came out very well, now we are working on a postproduction. A-Desiflava Magazine offers best wishes to Sri Kishore and the entire team of My Indian Boyfriend. It will be a super-hit movie and will receive many accolades, acknowledgment, and praise worldwide.
