Agriculture o AgMobile (Google Play Store)  AgMobile is the most complete app for accessing commodity markets, news and weather on-the-go from the convenience of your mobile device. Whether you are a farmer, crop adviser, grain merchandiser, analyst, or broker, or you are involved in agriculture in any other way, AgMobile will keep you informed of the latest news throughout the day. o Cattle Market Mobile (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app displays reports produced by the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service and reports composed by local livestock markets. In addition to market reports, users can also view commodity futures pricing. Where available, users can view prices for feeder steers and bulls, feeder heifers, slaughter cows, and slaughter bulls. o GPS Fields Area Measure (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  GPS Field Area Measure is a map measurement tool for outdoor activities, sports, range finder applications, bike tour planning, or run tour planning, explore golf area, land survey, golf distance meter, field pasture area measure, garden and farm work and planning, area records, construction, agricultural fencing, and solar panel installation (roof area estimation). The app calculates the area on a map, providing accurate area, distance, angle and volume information. To use it with spraying, for example, you can record the area that has been sprayed, allowing you to see exactly what’s been sprayed and what hasn’t.

Art o Google Arts & Culture (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Meet the people, visit the places and learn about the events that shaped our world. Discover collections curated by experts from the most famous museums. Be moved by stories depicted in thousands of photos, videos, manuscripts and artworks on every type of screen and in virtual reality. Find your favorite artworks, create your own collections and share them with friends. Google Arts & Culture has collaborated with over 1,200 international museums, galleries and institutions from 70 countries to make their exhibits available for everyone online. o My Visit to the Louvre (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Be your own guide with this app that presents 60,000 square meters of museum space modeled in 3D to help you find your way around. Find artwork, collection, or amenity by following the itinerary suggested. This app includes 600 comprehensive descriptions of artworks and 600 audio commentaries on the artworks and museum rooms (audio available through in-app purchasing).

o Tayasui Sketches (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app allows users to create sketches and paintings through access to over 20 realistic tools. Features include: import photos, brushes editor, color eyedropper, sort by folders, and sharing.

Business o Digital Compass by Common Sense (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  In this choose-your-own adventure style interactive game, 6th to 9th graders take on one of eight character roles to experience the ups and downs of daily digital life.

o Mint Personal Finance & Money (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app helps manage money all in one place—bringing together bank accounts, credit cards, bills, and investments. Mint allows users to track and pay bills right alongside your account balances so you know what’s due, when it’s due, and what you can pay. o MIT Sloan Simulation Games (Browser)  Starting and managing a business could be very challenging and risky, now you can gain a hands-on experience from several business simulation games. Play and learn—there are several free games worth your time! 

English/Language Arts o Epic! (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Epic! Is the leading digital library (with unlimited access to 25,000 high quality ebooks, audiobooks, learning videos, and quizzes) for kids 12 and under where they can explore their interests and become motivated with badges and rewards. Teachers can also assign books and track students’ progress. o Newsela (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This interdisciplinary reading tool allows users to browse and search a library of leveled articles (including breaking stories); annotate, take quizzes, and submit responses on- and off-line; track and view progress; and, for teaches, create assignments and check class performance. o TT/Tween/Teen Tribune by Smithsonian (Browser) (iOS Apple Store)  This resource (moderated by the teacher) allows students in grades K-12 read daily news articles, contribute comments to the stories that they rea, and then take quizzes on the articles.

Family & Consumer Sciences o {Child Development} Sprout Pregnancy (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Next generation 3D interaction allows you to experience a baby’s world in realistic interactive movements, kicking, heartbeat, and more. The app also provides daily and weekly information about moms and developing babies, pregnancy timeline, checklists, and more. o {Consumer Education} Shop Savvy (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Scan barcodes and QR codes, compare prices and view product recommendations/reviews.

o {Relationships} Love is Not Abuse (iOS Apple Store)  Liz Claiborne Inc.’s Love Is Not Abuse (LINA) application provides a rare insight for parents of what it feels like for their teen to be a victim of digital dating abuse. This application simulates for parents the abuse that many teens endure in their dating relationships. For just a few minutes, application users will receive text messages, emails and phone calls from a ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’ that mimic the actual communications abused teens receive. o {Foods & Nutrition} Epicurious (Browser) (iOS Apple Store)  Find and save recipes from around the world, create shopping lists, determine seasonal ingredients, and watch incredible food videos.

o {Housing & Design} Houzz Home Design & Shopping (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Browse, annotate, save, and share photos of home interiors and exteriors; connect with professionals and discuss home design/renovation; and check out the newsletter for articles on home tours, renovation guides, tips and tricks, and lifestyle. 

Foreign Language o Duolingo (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app contains over 30 languages to choose from and uses personalized lesson in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and conversation with intelligent Chatbots. Users can keep track of their progress and even earn rewards. o Memrise (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Memrise offers a fun way to expand your vocabulary using a game-like set up where uses travel to a foreign planet as a spy and earn points for correct answers. Users can also listen to audio recordings and occasionally watch video footage.

Health o Choose MyPlate (Browser) (iOS Apple Store)  The MyPlate resource helps users determine the best foods to put on their plates and think about making healthier food choices. *MyPlate Calorie Tracker also available.

o WebMD (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Physician-reviewed healthy living information tools allow you to check your symptoms, access drug and treatment information, get updates on key health topics, and live a healthy lifestyle.

Journalism o Smart Recorder and Transcriber (iOS Apple Store)  With this app, users can record, trim, transcribe, and share recordings and transcriptions. Although many key features come with the app, extra features are available for purchase.

o Ustream (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Ustream allows users to broadcast videos live, chat with live audiences, watch live and recent videos, schedule upcoming events through Ustream Channels, and more.

Math o Desmos Graphing Calculator (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  The Desmos calculator can instantly plot any equation—from lines and parabolas up through derivatives and Fourier series. Sliders make it easy to demonstrate transformations, too. Features include: graphing, sliders, tables, statistics, points of interest, scientific calculator, inequalities, and offline function. o Geogebra (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Graph functions, solve equations, find special points of functions, and save/share your results easily.

o Photomath (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Photomath is an app to guide high school students on their algebra homework. Users take a picture of a problem (or write/type the problem) and Photomath explains the answer by breaking down the solution step-by-step.

Music o Bandmate Chromatic Tuner (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Designed by music educators, with this app on your music stand, musicians are able to see which note they are singing or playing by displaying the note on a music staff.

o Metronome Pro (iOS Apple Store)  This is a powerful tool that helps you master both daily practice and stage performance. The free version contains 13 different metronome tones including even a voice option. Running RTP (Real-Time Playback) technology, the metronome clocks an accuracy of ±20μs. o MuseScore (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store--$1.99)  This professional music notation software allows users to listen to open source sheet music, select parts to be displayed and played, transpose melody and chord symbols, adjust tempo, and more.

Physical Education o Go Noodle (Browser) (iOS Apple Store)  This app helps get kids moving to fun songs as well as relax with simple mindfulness and yoga activities.

o MapMyFitness (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app allows users to track and map workouts and get feedback on stats to improve performance. MapMyFitness also allows users to find new workout routes, save/share their favorites, and connect with a community working to reach their goals. o Rack Performance (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Rack Performance is a software that helps physical educators, coaches, and personal trainers create, save, and share workouts using a series of timer systems. *Apps are free, but software is only free for a 30 day trial; there are three subscription options. o Team Shake (iOS Apple Store--$0.99)  Team Shakes provides a quick way to choose teams for sporting events, games, projects, and more. Simply enter names and give the device a shake and the newest update also allows users to balance teams based on skill or gender.

Psychology o Mindshift (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app helps uses learn how to relax, develop helpful ways of thinking, and identify steps that aid users

Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics) o 3D Brain (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Use your touch screen to rotate and zoom around 29 interactive structures. Discover how each brain region functions, what happens when it is injured, and how it is involved in mental illness. Each detailed structure comes with information on functions, disorders, brain damage, case studies, and links to modern research. o Earth Viewer (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Earth Viewer allows users to explore interactive maps of the Earth’s geological past, present, and future.

o Periodic Table (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  This app allows students and teachers to see elements in their natural state and real-life applications, check out podcasts and videos, use the interactive slider to see how elements change as temperature increases (or explore the discovery of the elements through history), or sort elements in order of increasing density. 

Social Sciences o Geogussr (Browser) (iOS Apple Store)  This resource allows users to explore the world using street view from Google maps. Different modes are available, including a trivia-esque game where the user is placed in a random spot on earth and attempts to guess where they are and mode allowing users to generate personal maps ($). With Geogussr, students can explore areas where novels take place, historical events, etc. o Timelooper (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  Timelooper provides recreated virtual environments of historic events and sites from around the globe. Driven by a narrative, students observe the event from a first person perspective, allowing them to scan a changing environment. Currently events include Ellis Island, Washington DC, Lincoln’s death, Washington’s Inauguration, Fall of the Berlin Wall, and Angkor Wat. o Zoom In (Browser)  Teachers can use classroom-ready lessons to immerse their students in highly interactive, document-based inquiry lessons that get students talking about questions vital to U.S. history. These lessons support close reading and evidencebased writing and provides interactive rubrics to assess students’ notes.

Special Education o Snap Type (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store)  With this app (developed by an occupational therapist), students who struggle with handwriting are able to take a picture of their worksheets (or import worksheets from their device) and then use their device as a keyboard to add text to the documents. When finished, students can print, email, or share their completed product.

Speech/Theatre o PromptSmart Lite Teleprompter (iOS Apple Store)  This app uses speech recognition technology to automatically follow your voice as you speak.

General Use Resources

Bamboo Paper (Google Play Store) o Turn your tablet into a paper notebook and capture your ideas everywhere, anytime. Taking notes, sketching, and drawing is as straightforward and simple as using real pen and paper. Enrich your notes or journal with photos. You can also export and share your work to a variety of other cloud services and social media.

Bloomz (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o With this resource, teachers and schools can safely share media, school events, and news with parents.

ChatterPix (iOS Apple Store) o With Chatterpix, users can make anything talk by simply taking a photo, drawing a line to make a mouth, and then record their voice. Finished ChatterPix products can also be shared with others.

Educreations Interactive Whiteboard (iOS Apple Store) o With Educreations, users can use the interactive whiteboard feature to annotate, animate, and narrate content as they record their voice and iPad screen—then download the video or share it with others.

Kahoot! (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o As a multiple choice or jumble game-based learning and trivia platform, teachers can use Kahoot! to introduce new topics or review knowledge through the use of text, videos, images, and diagrams.

Kaizena (Browser) o Use Kaizena to quickly provide students with quality feedback on their work. Teachers can record their voice comments, embed videos to further explain key concepts, and track students’ skills.

NearPod (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o This interactive classroom tool helps teachers create engaging, interactive lessons that is easily managed on students’ mobile devices.

OneNote by Microsoft (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o Capture, organize, and share with this cloud-based digital notebook that allows users to create, re-name, search, sort, and copy their pages/sections/notebooks. Notes can be password secured with touch ID.

Quizlet (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o Create your own term sets, search sets created by others, and review using flashcards, solo and cooperative games, and quizzes.

Quizizz (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o With avatars, leaderboards, themes, music, and memes, this online assessment tool allows teachers to create fun quizzes in minutes and then review detailed class and student-level data.

Screencastify (Browser) o Used as a Chrome add-on (with no software downloads), this free tool is an easy way to capture your entire desktop, browser, or webcam in HD with just a few clicks. Users are also able to narrate, annotate, and edit videos before publishing and sharing their video.

Screencast-O-Matic (Browser) o This online tool is great for creating flipped video lessons. Resize the screen capture box to show only what you want captured, then record, edit, save, and share. 8|P a g e


Smore (Browser) o This simple tool allows users to design beautifully organized newsletters and infographics that can also be shared quickly.

Socrative (Browser) (Google Play Store; teacher) (iOS Apple Store; teacher) o The free version of this tool allows students to enter a teacher’s online classroom to answer on-the-fly questions, take quizzes, or play review games. Teachers are then able to export the assessment data for quick analysis.

Scannable by Evernote (iOS Apple Store) o Scannable quickly captures a variety of documents and then automatically rotates, crops, and adjusts the images so your scans are clear and easy to read. Save or share documents instantly via email, text, PDF, or JPG files.

Remind (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o This communication platform allows users to send real-time messages to a person or small group. Messages can be translated into more than 85 languages and photos, handouts, and other files can also be included.

Vialogues (Browser) o With Vialogues, users are able to participate in time-stamped discussions and polls while viewing online video content.

Vibby (Browser) o Vibby is a tool that enables uses to highlight, share, and discuss specific parts of a video. Users first select and online video, then trim the video and mark the moments they want to feature, and finally share the clip through social media or website/blog.

WolframAlpha (Browser) o This resource is a multi-discipline computational knowledge engine with custom form-based web app interface options.

Plickers (Browser) (Google Play Store) (iOS Apple Store) o This assessment tool allows teachers to quickly evaluate each student. Students have a slip of paper—which they rotate to communicate their response—and, using a device, the teacher is able to evaluate each response. Class data is also generated, allowing the teacher to correct and review. Plickers are excellent for formative assessment and checks for understanding.
